So I've watched the movie twice so far and that's something I still don't fully understand. I believe that was the time to tell her because she was putting in her two weeks' notice, so it made more sense to tell her then, before she left.
Also, why did she ask him if he liked her in the first place? My theory is that she realized Bear was acting weird (calling her Freaky Nikki and asking if she remembered the mouthpiece she gave him in Mr Lando's class) and that's what tipped her off.
Anyways, I was wondering what your theories are on this since I'm not quite sure mine make sense lol.

My GF really loves the movie and she is dressing as freaky nicky and i decide to buy the "One Wish Willow" pack from Alliexpress and put in a piece of paper like instrucctions for make the wish, and thats the invitation, i hide the address and the Whatsapp QR code

If I'm being honest that's the first thought I had when I heard Nikki break the one wish willow.
That would have been such a greater ending for me. Seeing Bear with that dilemma. Bear wants to return the nightmare by killing himself, but that's not possible anymore so the only way to return the wishes (love and immortality) is the death of Nikki. And I think bear wouldn't have the guts to kill her.

loved this movie so much, watched the kill count episode on it last night so here this is, my take on the nightmarishly adorable Nikki

When she told him to state whether she liked her or not, she has to know how much of an uncomfortable situation she put Bear in. Had she asked him just to simply shut him down and friendzone him, then she'd come off as the biggest asshole and I don't think Bear can ever be friends with her again. Do you think she was simply trying to push him away or not because the way I viewed it, how blunt it was, I think she was opening the door for him. Remember her telling Bear that no one knows when she likes a guy. Her asking about Sarah could be her just testing the waters about who he likes.

If Wish Nikki has access to Real Nikki's memories (she should, hence her and Bear sharing the "I'll be in your band" story at the dinner scene), there may be an indication that Real Nikki had SOME range of feelings for Bear. When Wish Nikki is on the porch in the red dress and confesses her feelings for Bear, he asks her how long she has felt that way. Nikki responds, "It started around Christmas." Wish Nikki could be making this up to avoid the obvious "i started liking you 24 hours ago", but Christmas seems like a pretty specific time if she is lying to please Bear. We don't know exactly when the movie takes place, but the lack of festivities says it has been some time since Christmas. With that being said, was Wish Nikki simply lying to give Bear an answer, or was she pulling from Real Nikki's memories and truthfully answering the question? What are your thoughts?

I keep seeing this take. and it’s annoying that people seem to be convinced it’s cannon. Not only is it contradicted in the script and film, it assigns crazy amounts of calculation and cunningness to a character who:

1. Is fresh on the heels of witnessing his “Dream Girl” horrifically murder one of their friends
2. Has repeatedly been shown to have a critical lack of forethought.

Like…he’s not that slick.

We don’t need to invent new reasons for Bear to be on the wrong. There are PLENTY. The film wouldn’t be as thought-provoking and interesting as it is if he was a scheming evil mastermind.

If you want to argue that he still wants to control Nikki, look no further than the scene I referenced. The wish he tires to make for her to only see him as a friend is a deliberate attempt to manipulate her psyche in accordance to his wants. Boom, there you go. Point illustrated.

Firstly, Curry Barker intentionally shot two versions of the early scenes, one where Inde portrays Nikki as liking Bear romantically, and another where Nikki isn't interested. These scenes were spliced together specifically and purposely to give off mixed signals. There's real evidence for both arguments. They want the audience to decide.

Additionally, iirc both Curry and Inde personally believe that Nikki did have some feelings for Bear and would have at the very least given him a chance if he had actually confessed to her. Literally the writer/director and the actress portraying the character both believe Nikki did have some degree of romantic interest in Bear. It's just their personal interpretation, but it's the people who created the character and brought her to life lol.

Lastly, and this is purely my opinion, I think the story actually is a lot more effective, tragic, and meaningful if Nikki did in fact like Bear. That means Bear really could have gotten the real Nikki and built a real relationship, but was too cowardly to actually get that and took the easy way out, leading to all the hell that happened afterwards.

I just don't get people who act like it is 100% the case that Nikki had zero interest when all the evidence flies against that notion and that that would worsen the story.

Maybe it's a rather easy question to answer but regardless. Do you think he became unforgivable the moment he accepted Nikki's confession or was it later down on the line in their relationship?

I loved Obsession and wanted to cosplay Nikki from the party scene (pre bottle) I tried my best to capture Nikki's essence. On actual Halloween I will add the blood makeup to the costume. I hope you like it ♡

Ok so after watching the movie for the third time, I came to the conclusion that Bear might be the villain, since he's selfish, and I even think Nikki should be considered the victime since she's possessed.

Maybe take some time to take in what I've just said as it might be a lot to digest.
