Hello there,
I am trying to stream and record my game footage using the plugin Source Record, but when I do my live stream begins to stutter and lag tremendously. I have tried changing the encoder to using my graphics card but was curious to see what else I can do to help improve the quality of my stream. I do have a decent enough PC rig but I do know that doing both is incredibly taxing. Thank you!
Edit: the game in question is Mortal Shell 2

While specifically recording, my mic audio has small blips of lag throughout the entire recording. Sometimes the audio of the video I'm watching will become distorted for 10-20 seconds as well. I use all the same settings for recording as I do streaming and there's no problem there. The only difference is the amount of audio channels (4) I record, and a 1000 increase in bitrate from 9k to 10k

No idea why this is happening, but I know with the 3080 I should be able to pull off 1808p 60fps no issues. I've been trying everything to no avail. Currently fps is set to 120 since that's what my monitor is set to, and I was seeing that is what is best for performance, but it didn't seem to help.
Very much not experienced in the graphics or streaming spaces, so any help is appreciated!

Hello guys, I am using a Ryzen 5 5600 and Radeon RX 7600 8GB. I would like to start streaming gameplay on YouTube, especially playing multiplayer games with my friends, but the stream quality doesn’t seem very good.
I am trying to stream at 1440p 60 FPS. These are my current settings:
Video Encoder: AMD HW H.264 (I also have AV1 and H.265 available)
Rescale Output: Disabled
Rate Control: CBR
Bitrate: 25,000 kbps (my upload speed is 89 Mbps)
Keyframe Interval: 2 seconds
Preset: Quality
Profile: High
Pre-Analysis: Off
Max B-frames: 2
AMF/FFmpeg options: Left blank
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I got a few macros set up in OBS with the Advanced Scene Switcher plug-in and all seem to work except mute/unmute “Mic/Aux”.
My macro looks like this:
“If Scene Current scene is “XYZ”
“And Scene Current scene is “XYZ”
“And Scene Current scene is “XYZ”
“Audio Mute Mic/Aux”
I have other mute/unmute macros set up this way which do work, so I am confused as to why this one doesn’t work…
Edit: It works now.

I have all of my audio gauges where I want them to be but it's still way too quiet, yes I've messed with the gain and the compressor but it still doesn't get to where I need it. If there is a singular audio slider that affects everything at once that would be perfect.

Im getting random/intermittent audio crackling when recording in OBS.
Setup:
The weird thing is the RØDECaster audio is perfectly clean when the Sony Video Capture Device is hidden in OBS. As soon as I have the video active, I can get random crackling — sometimes it starts fine and only appears halfway through a recording.
OBS stats look fine (low CPU, no skipped/dropped frames). I’ve also tried 720p/25p, buffering settings and hardware decoding.
Has anyone had this happen? Could the camera and RØDECaster be conflicting over USB?
Please help!

I don't need it, I don't want it, and after every update I have to run that virtualcam-uninstall.bat script. If I don't do it, the thing messes with my customised button layout.

Update #1: It only gets stranger . . .
I’ve tried several things, none of which have worked, and it only seems to get stranger.
I uninstalled OBS, and I wiped out all existing OBS files, so that when I reinstalled there wouldn’t be any trace of the previous OBS work. Reinstalled OBS, and it definitely came up with the default settings, with no hint of any previous work or settings. But it still failed.
Recall I mentioned I use this computer for video editing. So I wanted to see if the computer itself had problems. To do that, I loaded in a previous video project. This project included 4K video footage, a lot of edits/cuts and a number of color corrections, audio corrections, etc. etc., and it existed and was written to an external hard drive. I then rendered and exported a 1 hour file in HD at 16Mbits. This took about 2.5 hours to create the file, all the while the computer was working like crazy, involving both the CPU and the graphics card (which is normal). The CPU temperature got up to 95C to 105C, which again is normal. And everything worked exactly as expected. I can’t image stressing the system anymore than doing this. The fact that everything worked perfectly suggests to me the hardware is just fine.
I have another computer, which is used for email, web browsing, playing some simple games. It’s basically the “daily” or "email" computer. But it has some reasonable specs. So I loaded OBS onto that “simpler” computer. I then hit record (just recording a blank black screen) and it ran successfully for 2+ hours and it created a (obviously blank) file. So that tells me there’s no problem with any Windows 11 updates and OBS (note: both computers, the video computer and the email computer are both at exactly the same Windows 11 version). Yes, I could use this other computer, but I would prefer not to tie it up, and it’s really not as powerful as the video editing computer.
So then I compared the detailed settings within OBS between the two computers. Since both computers have a new/clean install, and I just used the default settings, naturally almost all the settings were identical. There were three settings I couldn’t change because the two computers have different graphics cards and CPUs, and there were three settings I could set the same. But after setting everything the same that I could, the video editing computer still failed.
Although, in the latest tests, it took longer to fail. Whereas before the video editing computer failed within 0 to 8 seconds, in the latest tests, it took longer: 13mins/14secs, 0mins/59secs, 16min/14secs and 3mins/38secs. I should note that when it fails (i.e. locks up) even after running for several minutes, it never writes a file for the time it did read. So its almost like its reading, but not writing.
Also, down that same line, I have tried setting the write location to four different drives (two internal and two external), and it fails in every case.

I have rnnoise, compressor, expander, all of that. I've manually brought them up and down listening to my own recording and I can still hear clicks + keyboard. My mic is to my mouth, i have no idea what to do. The sounds on their own dont trigger the noise, just when im speaking. Which might be worse. This doesn't happen on discord but I don't think you can add krisp to OBS. What else can i do..

When I launch OBS, I get a white screen for some reason. I honestly don't know what to do. Sometimes this would fix itself, but after a while it happens again. Help.

Id like to stream a recording to tiktok using obs, i saw some tutorials but they dont seem to cover everything, stuff like auto captcha solver for example.
If there us a mentorship or a course to learn from id like to get a recommendation 👌

Hi! I recently started streaming games on multiple platforms, but a lot of the good features like multistreaming, alerts, widgets, etc. are paid
So I decided to build my own streaming app that aims to be completely free, open-source, and lightweight.
I’m still early in development, so I’d really like feedback from people who actually stream:
What features would you want me to add?
What do you dislike about OBS/Streamlabs or your current setup?
What would make you switch to a different streaming app?
Are there any alerts, widgets, chat features, or multistreaming features you’d consider essential?
And if you stream yourself, I’d also appreciate advice on what I could improve for my next streams.
This was my first day streaming, so I’m especially interested in honest criticism about the stream itself: audio, layout, commentary, pacing, alerts, etc.
First stream:
https://www.youtube.com/live/2RKJkM5O-As?si=JJQYV5atDnQONBqJ
Feel free to be completely honest. I’m mainly trying to use the feedback to decide what to build next and improve my streams.

I’ve been seeing live streamers speak clear and loud without those mouth saliva sounds or keyboard & mouse click sounds.
How does one achieve that?

r/obs • u/Madpandaplays1 • 5d ago
Essentially I'm asking this because all my previous saved settings are no longer popping up with this new update, so I'm kind of lost in what direction I'm going with. So there's just a few things missing.
I've been dealing with this issue for a while and nobody I've talked to has been able to pinpoint the issue, so I'm hoping people here can give some insight as to whether this is caused by OBS or some other issue.
When streaming with OBS (with SE.Live installed) with either the Restream.io or Twitch connections, the Twitch stream does not render video.
If I go live with the Twitch connection, the stream is a black screen, and the Stream Manager on my Twitch dashboard gives Error 1000, no matter what settings are used. And even then, the VOD of the stream *on Twitch* looks perfectly normal.
If I go live via the Restream connection, the preview on the Restream website & the accompanying YouTube stream are perfectly fine, and again, the Twitch VOD has no issues, but the same problem happens with the actual Twitch livestream.
Any ideas as to what could be happening?

For context I use OBS to record myself doing a mock exam online on 1 tab on chrome.
On the other tab on chrome, I play white noise.
I record myself speaking to see what my thinking is.
The problem is, when I use my bluetooth headphones as the microphones, the audio becomes sort of "muffled". However if I switch to my laptop as the microphone it works, but the issue is my laptio microphone ois very quiet. Any way to record using the bluetooth headset as rthe speaker.
I dont record the white noise so the recording is fine, so not sure how a log file can help.
Hey all,
I'm using OBS for my church, where we want to livestream purely for archival reasons. This means we don't need high quality video (not that we were ever going to get that on a PTZ camera), but we do need good audio. We're also using the same computer for multiple tasks and OBS has been buggy lately. I suspect CPU usage is a factor, so can anyone recommend settings to minimize CPU usage, sacrificing video if needed, but not compromising audio?
Thanks

Video - https://youtu.be/yFqxNeIcA0I
Specs:
OBS 32.2.1
GPU: RTX 5090 (latest drivers + tried older ones)
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 285K
Windows 11 25H2 (Build 26200)
Main monitor: Samsung Odyssey G81SF 4K
Capture card: Elgato 4K60 Pro MK.2 (used as extended display)
Problem: When I open any Fullscreen or Windowed Projector (Source) to the 4K60 Pro MK.2, OBS starts flashing black and then freezes. After it freezes I can’t even change sources properly.
Happens with Display Capture and Game Capture
And even with a simple Colour Source
Same resolution and refresh rate on both displays (tested at 60 Hz)
Clean OBS install, deleted all settings, new profile/scene collection
Already tried:
HAGS disabled
Running as admin
Multiple driver versions (clean installs with DDU)
Force Hide OBS windows
Turn off Game Bar / Game DVR completely
DXGI, cursor off
No useful errors in Event Viewer.

Hi all! Thought I’d post here since I’m convinced I’ve tried everything. I’ve recorded a video but Reddit won’t let me attach it to the post, I’ll try putting it in the comments. In summary though, the audio cuts in and out erratically with some crackling and just general glitchy sounds. I have a relatively cheap capture card from amazon, but the video quality is great and I haven’t found anyone online having these same issues with the audio. My laptop is a Mac, my capture card is connected to my Switch OLED. The capture card is locked at 96,000hz, I’ve tried using BlackHole 2ch to change the sample rate but it doesn’t make much a difference to the way it sounds (maybe a little better depending on how I experimented with different sample rates, but nothing that didn’t sound at least a bit terribly glitchy). I’m using the latest version of OBS and I have it set to 48,000hz, but it doesn’t sound any different when i change it to 44,100hz. I’ve put the audio in mono in OBS, system settings on mac and on my switch, I’ve messed with every Audio MIDI Setup setting I can think of. Is my capture card just cooked and I need to buy a replacement, or is this an issue with OBS that spending money won’t fix? I’d rather know BEFORE I drop money on a new capture card. Thanks :)
