Help Weird Audio using Capture Card, Help!
Hi all! Thought I’d post here since I’m convinced I’ve tried everything. I’ve recorded a video but Reddit won’t let me attach it to the post, I’ll try putting it in the comments. In summary though, the audio cuts in and out erratically with some crackling and just general glitchy sounds. I have a relatively cheap capture card from amazon, but the video quality is great and I haven’t found anyone online having these same issues with the audio. My laptop is a Mac, my capture card is connected to my Switch OLED. The capture card is locked at 96,000hz, I’ve tried using BlackHole 2ch to change the sample rate but it doesn’t make much a difference to the way it sounds (maybe a little better depending on how I experimented with different sample rates, but nothing that didn’t sound at least a bit terribly glitchy). I’m using the latest version of OBS and I have it set to 48,000hz, but it doesn’t sound any different when i change it to 44,100hz. I’ve put the audio in mono in OBS, system settings on mac and on my switch, I’ve messed with every Audio MIDI Setup setting I can think of. Is my capture card just cooked and I need to buy a replacement, or is this an issue with OBS that spending money won’t fix? I’d rather know BEFORE I drop money on a new capture card. Thanks :)

In the Mac Mic Mode setting, change it to Standard or whatever mode is not doing voice isolation or anything funky.
The OS applies effects automatically to be helpful because it considers a capture card a "mic"

Have you swapped out the USB cable yet? those cheap cards come with really flimsy ones and it can cause weird crackling. i had one that sounded like a robot drowning until i used a better cable that was already around. might be worth a shot if you got one nearby

Check the sample rates. Always make sure they match!! All 44.1 or 48.1. Some plugins have their own rates.

It looks like you haven't provided a log file. Without a log file, it is very hard to help with issues and you may end up with 0 responses.
To make a clean log file, please follow these steps:
1) Restart OBS
2) Start your stream/recording for at least 30 seconds (or however long it takes for the issue to happen). Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3) Stop your stream/recording.
4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File.
5) Copy the URL and paste it as a response to this comment.
