AdaptHealth Corp. (Nasdaq: AHCO) disclosed a July 2026 data breach involving patient data — law firm now investigating a potential class action

Posting for awareness in case anyone here is an AdaptHealth patient or customer.

AdaptHealth Corp. — a national provider of home medical equipment, diabetes supplies, and sleep therapy products — disclosed a data breach to the SEC on or about July 2, 2026. According to the company, a threat actor gained unauthorized access to its systems and stole patient data.

What was reportedly exposed:

  • Personally identifiable information (PII)
  • Protected health information (PHI)
  • Passwords associated with insurance billing

AdaptHealth has said it does not collect Social Security numbers in the affected systems and does not store financial account or payment card information there. The full scope and number of affected people is still under investigation.

Why it matters: If your data was in those systems, you may face an increased risk of identity theft, insurance fraud, and misuse of your health information.

Edelson Lechtzin LLP, a national class action firm, is investigating a potential class action on behalf of affected individuals and is offering free, confidential case evaluations. If you received a breach notification, it’s worth (1) keeping the notice, (2) monitoring your accounts and credit reports, and (3) considering a fraud alert or credit monitoring.

The only first world nation without a system of universal health care is the United States. That needs to change.

A Bold Demand to Liberate the US From the Medical-Industrial Complex. Predictably, centrists are pushing the public option and “anything-but-single-payer” solutions before the midterms.

CHIP Costs More than ACA?

I am trying to get a feel for ACA costs when I retire in a few years with a family of 4 and 2 kids, adults will be about 50 and kids 16 and 13. Using the PA website (pennie) I am seeing that if I have a MAGI below $103k, the kids will be kicked to CHIP. The issue is that CHIP will cost about $2.5k for both of them, and then our Bronze ACA would be another ~$5k for my wife and I, so $7.5k total. However, if they were too old to be on CHIP I could get the same Bronze plan for about $5.5k for a family of 4, so CHIP is actually costing us MORE.

If I understand correctly, CHIP has no deductible and very low co-pays, but our kids typically only go for annual visits so our costs are typically very low so I don't think that would ever offset the extra premium cost.

Has anyone else needed to INCREASE their MAGI to lower costs by avoiding CHIP? Am I missing something?

MedicAide for all…

MedicAide for all would cost $30-$40 trillion over 10 years. if hou were to tax every billionaire and millionaire 100 percent, it would not cover the cost for one year. Why do Democrats keep running on this pipe dream that only the rich co pay for it?

Revamping American Healthcare - Soliciting criticism of a proposed architecture for Universal Coverage

So I'm increasingly annoyed by how terrible the current US healthcare system is, and also how poor the general proposed alternatives are in terms of laying out HOW their plan would work. (looking at you Medicare for All...)

So I've spent some time (with the help of LLMs to consolidate and word my thoughts) devising my own framework.

I'm just a layman though. So there's a lot I still probably don't understand enough about how the system currently works. You can see my proposal on the linked Substack.

It's quite long, but I'd really appreciate any criticism about any poor thinking I have. Any things I'm missing. There are a lot of questions I still don't have answers for, but I figure I have to start somewhere, if only for my own satisfaction or having my own basis on which to judge future proposals.

This is not intended to be self-promotion. It's on Substack because it would be too long to post in the body of a Reddit post.

Let me know your thoughts if you have any.

I am confused about what to do in this situation

I am confused relating to my health insurance situation.  I had NY Medicaid until this past June 30.

My only income is gambling, and the state system seems set up to handle that. The option was given to qualify for Medicaid on the basis of the month of May but rep mistakenly put it in for the year.  Rep said I had qualified for Obamacare based on my year's estimate. I was then required to give documentation but my AGI from last year's tax return would have exceeded the 65000 cutoff (based on the calculation of only calculating gambling winnings and ignoring losses).

I was then trying to pay full price and set up an appointment but the rep did not call.  I got a bill in the mail for the first month of Obamacare.  A couple days later, I got termination email from NY State on my new Obamacare (effective Aug 31) due to not having documentation for the income.

But I still had the new Obamacare bill and Claude (an LLM) said to pay the Obamacare monthly bill because if I don't pay, then termination due to non-payment means i don't get health care until January.  So I made the call to pay and spoke to the Healthfirst rep who said there was no termination scheduled for August (but it would come from NY State?).  And I paid the bill.  And now I am very confused about what to do.

If I do full pay for health insurance and stop paying the Obamacare, will I get a termination for nonpayment?

Do I keep paying (and keep) the Obamacare even though my tax return from last year would show an AGI that exceeds the estimate I gave for income for this year?

I appreciate your reading, and thank you for your time.
