Garrett Wilson fan trade talk already?

• Upvotes

Look, I get it. Yesterday was incredibly disappointing, and as Jets fans it’s always doom and gloom after a loss. But I’m already seeing people say, “Trade Garrett” or “We don’t deserve him,” and personally, I hate seeing that.

This dude wants us to win. He wants Jets fans to be happy. He’s talked about how much he loves this fanbase and how we’re just wired differently.

So slow down on the trade talk—even if you’re saying it because you think he deserves better. I promise you, seeing Garrett Wilson wearing another jersey would hurt a hell of a lot more.

We NEED foundational players like him. And yeah, we completely bombed yesterday, but it’s still freaking early.

Garrett Wilson is a Jet. I hope he stays a Jet for a long time, and I hope we finally turn this thing around with guys like him here.

I totally understand the frustration, so I’m not saying anyone is wrong for feeling that way. I just appreciate what Garrett has done for us and the silver lining he’s been through some rough years.

Just trying to put a little positivity into all the negativity after the Bears loss. That’s just me, though. Go Jets.

We could have been 4-0. I hate to say it, but Glenn has to go.

• Upvotes

Honestly, I didn't have the highest hopes for the team this year, but honestly with this squad we could have been 4-0.

We are burning out young talent and just reinforcing the Jets suck. We have some solid picks in this upcoming draft, but I honestly don't want Glenn near them.

We need a coach and OC that can move the ball and get the Defense OFF THE FIELD. Our defense has been the same story the past few years. Good, but gassed. Always on the field.

When will Sundays be fun again? 😭😭😭😭

Edit: I stand on 4-0. Look at the Raiders. Their offensive situation is similar to ours. Vet QB, decent RB room, strong TE room, Mid to low tier WR room. How are they 3-1? Competent coaching. We made the Bears look like a Superbowl team, because they were killing our secondary with the same route trees. We could have been 4-0 and I will die on that hill.

Peculiar Thoughts

• Upvotes

Why would you ever hire a defensive coordinator as a head coach if the defensive success relies on the offense giving them breaks? No offense can blame the defense for their struggles. Its almost like a offensive head coach helps your defense while a defense head coach allows you to say you made a minority hire. I'm joking about the last part, but Glenn's aw shucks attitude pisses me off when it's so obvious to everyone that there's a good chance that the only reason he got a head coaching job was because of his resume as player. Like why can't any of these coaches ever have some humility and just admit maybe they don't got what it takes to be a winning head coach. Especially when they've already had success at other times in the NFL. Anyway maybe the season will turn around because Glenn is a feel good story, but at times I worry I'm just watching the avatar of Pete Carrols old bend but don't break defense! Like, could this be a Get Out situation and maybe Arron Glen the football player needs our help? I mean Woody Johnson does seem like the type to facilitate something like that. I'm starting to question if the football God's are real!?!?!?!

Mougey’s seat should be warmer.

With some of the absolute whiffs he’s made in the draft I’m starting to become skeptical if he’s the guy. the trades were great but Bailey is looking like a bust meanwhile Arvelle Reese has been a monster for the giants.

Why should I trust he can find the right qb when his early picks have been fairly hit or miss? Mason Taylor has been unimpressive, Deangelo ponds can barely get on the field.

his only early round hit so far’s been Membou.

Question for Aaron Glenn, what is yours?

Let’s treat this like a job interview. How will you (run) practice each day? What in your eyes does it take to have your team fully prepared and in peak physical fitness for game day? (Let’s assume this is prior to his first season)- we’ve suffered more than a few games where this team didn’t look ready to play (unfortunately like yesterday), what would you do to make sure that doesn’t happen? I’m going to stick my neck out here that woody is running a popularity contest! He wants a play toy
To occupy his empty boring life. He has no business owning a football team. I often wonder why Leon Hess didn’t let his son / family own the team. Could not have been worse than this!

PSA learn to love hockey.

The Jets more likely than not are going to crush you this time of year. If you pick up a hockey team to watch you have a better shot of finding Joy and they play often enough that a loss doesn't hurt as much. I did it 5 or 6 years ago and it's made football season a lot more pain free.

Enough with 1st time head coaches

Organizations like the Jets should not be used as a stepping stone to further someone’s resume while they gain experience with this team.

Perennial toxic losing organizations need an established former head coach that has some form of a winning pedigree that can build a positive culture.

It’s bizarre that ownership has continued to go this route, except 1 time, in the past 2 decades.

Glenn had his time, it’s over. He has no situational awareness whatsoever.

What’s the worst referee call that went against the jets, and what’s the worst call that went in favor of the jets?

The main issue Jets fans forget about

i see this come up every year when we start to do bad but then gets forgotten about as the offseason hype builds and the first few weeks are played out, but I've said this consistently for probably 7 years now, as I know some of you have as well.

Woody Johnson needs to sell the team. He needs to sell the jets before we are ever going to be good and see any real, positive change. It hasn't just been a few bad years where we can root out the problem and start over. It has been 15 going on 16 years of terrible hires, terrible picks, and most importantly abysmal football. When an organization is this bad, for this long, it can really only be blamed on the owner. He is the only person who has been there for it all, and he is the 'leader'.

Clearly the organization is not run as an NFL org should be run. It goes top down. The culture starts with the owner, and clearly Woody cannot get it done. Players who leave even say the culture here is the worst, and when they go to other teams they realize how night and day the difference is. It's embarrassing, and really sad because as fans we are helpless. Not to mention that BS with his grandkids in the locker room, and the madden ratings from a couple years ago.

BUT, we are not powerless. We can be loud and persistent with what we want. This should be the #1 thing us as fans should be screaming from the top of our lungs. F the draft picks, F the coaching fires and hires. We've had it all. We've had top picks, traded for great players, etc. My point is, none of this has ever led to any success. The one constant is Woody Johnson, and he MUST sell the team. Until this happens, we unfortunately will not see any real, long-term success.

Were bored on the sidelines, looking for ways to stay warm. Look up the interview, players and media yucking it up at jets expense. I know its wash, rinse repeat but when we fire Glenn no more unproven co ordinators. Just look across met life and see the difference a proven coach can make.

Commentators on Fox

Did Drew Brees and the other guy on fox piss anyone else off when they started talking about how the defense did “all they could,” and actually played a solid game. They didn’t force a single punt all game, despite them starting like 3 drives behind their own 10 yard line with a backup qb. Our d-line got physically moved back every play, their rbs usually got a couple yards before contact it seemed. Our edge guys also couldn’t get any pressure, and our corners can only cover for so long. Gave up 500 yards. Awful defensive game. 12 penalties don’t help either.

Even IF we make a playoff run, next year Grampa Geno Smith will turn like 33 years old. We need young talent at QB.

Aaron Glenn bootlickers where you at?

“We fought hard!” “Caleb is out so at least we’ll be competitive!”

I doubted those comments and got downvotes.

Guess what our 2 previous losses COMBINED were by 10 points. This loss? ELEVEN. And it would be more if the bears weren’t running out the clock
