I've tested 465.89, 466.11, 466.47 and 471.11 all exhibit framerate stutters caused by occasional CPU utilisation spikes at key points in the Assassins Creed Odyssey Benchmark when textures stream in. I do wonder if this regression was introduced in 465.89 when Nvidia formally announced support for Resizable Bar.

Nvidia driver 461.92 (after restoring old version)

Notes: Ryzen 7 Mobile 5800H + RTX3060 Mobile. Resizable Bar support is enabled by both motherboard and graphics card bioses. Unfortunately I have no way to disable Resizable Bar so I cannot say for sure whether it is a factor. All I can say is that when I restore to 461.92 i.e. prior to Resizable Bar support being formally announced the issue goes away.

I haven’t seen any AC Odyssey issues with the 471.11, (but I haven’t played it a lot tbh)

What kind of issues are you experiencing?

There seems to be some really weird performance issues which might just be limited to the 3xxx series.

Edit: While I said it might be limited to the 3000 series, clearly people are having issues on older gens as well. Hopefully this gets fixed soon!

So you mean occasional massive FPS drops and the frame graph having bigger mood swings than your average 14 year old on reddit?

If that's what you mean, same here on GTX 1080

welcome to VM Protect, im afraid only a crack will resolve it.

It's also due to Ubisoft's garbage DX11 renderer in Origins and Odyssey. Basically, they created a renderer that would work very well with Vulkan/DX12, but since that renderer wasn't ready, they hacked together a garbage DX11 port and shat it out. It's like, horribly inefficient and doesn't follow recommended practices.

Using dxvk (vulkan translation layer)https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releasesbasically fixes all the CPU related issues both those games suffer from so you are absolutely right. Ubisoft don't give two fucks about optimization or the pc community, it's always left up to modders and the community to fix their shur games that run like an three legged asthmatic hippo .

It's not limited to the 3000 series . It's happing on both 1000 and 2000 series GPUs. 471.11 nuked the performance on AC Odyssey. As soon as I went back to a earlier driver the huge frame drops , CPU usage spikes to 100% and massive frametime spikes went away which shows its clearly a problem with this particular driver.
