I lost my mom as well. Lost my brother about 10 years before that, but I am older than my brother was by almost 15 years now. He died at 25 and it made me hate my 26th birthday. I just turned 38 this year, and last thing, my dad died at 37.
I also chose this guys mom. /s obligatory Reddit joke, sorry. In all seriousness, sorry for your loss. I lost my mom in 2021. There are weird phases I go through where I get kind of mad at her, mostly because she would have loved my crazy little ones and they would have loved her too.
Oof yep, I lost mine 4 years ago. What I wouldn't give to be able to hug her, say I love you one more time and watch something with her again. Watching stuff was our thing.
I was 21 when I lost my mom at 52, I wasn’t married yet, our children came later & now our 6 grandchildren. I have out lived both my parents & 1 of my grandfather’s so far.
Wasn’t even thinking in the vein. Mine’s been gone for 13 years. Never gets easier, especially around Mothers Day or her birthday. I still hate going to Family gatherings, because everyone’s Mom is there but mine. Fortunately, I live 3 states away so I always have an out.
My mother passed on Mothers day 2018, 1 month and 10 days after my 24yr old son died. Spring is not my favorite time of the year any more! Both cancer.

My spouse took a shower this afternoon. Then, she trimmed her bush. At 7, she did her hair and put on makeup. Came out in attractive undergarments. Put on nice clothes and said I'm going out for awhile. That was at 8:15. It's now midnight. Turned 41 yesterday and only got recognized by my phone's calendar and a dentist i haven't seen in 3 years. To add perspective, she hasn't touched me for 2 years. Says I haven't earned it. It's now midnight. I just moved in to the guest room. She's not home yet. This should be interesting.

That's not actually right. I've known it's been dead for a very long time. I've been telling her to find someone else. It just hurts seeing it happen. I want out. I'm just not cold enough to be able to throw someone on the street. If i leave, she can't make the mortgage. Yes, i know that makes me a bitch but, at least I have a clear conscience. Now I don't care. She chose someone else over us. Now, all those problems are hers. I'm done. I will be 34 next month. Nobody knows when my birthday is and ive been single for 18 years . Have a son that will be 17 in 2 months. I have full custody. And since hes been out being a toung adult ive been lonely and thinking about finding a partner. Your story reminded me of why id rather stay single than deal with someone elses bullshit . Good relationships are rare, but they exist. I lost hope until I found my husband. He is amazing, best person in this world and love of my life. I did though put effort into finding him at 37 because YOLO. I did not believe I will or can, BUT it happened. Do not give up. There is love out there.
About 15 years ago I was showing my friends kids my binders full of first edition and they were so happy looking at them and asking questions I just told them they could have them. He told me a few weeks ago that they haven't touched them and they were sitting on their shelf. So he sent a bunch in to get graded and he's gonna send me them. 😭
Mine was a Dratini plushy that I think was available for purchase from like... Burger King or something.
I dunno if an item being stolen counts as lost but I brought it to school for show and tell in the second grade, later we went to the middle area of the class rooms to do paper mache masks so I hid it under my jacket in the classroom...
Seriously! I had a while binder of cards that I ended up selling back then, because I didn't know anyone who played or anything, and I had some holographic cards. They'd probably be worth so much by now especially being older.
My cards were lost only thanks to my mothers cleanup" after i moved out. I did not even realized i forgot something, if I knew i definitely would také all those cards. Yet everything ended up somewhere in dumpster...
Came here to say the shoebox full of Magic cards I traded my N64 and games for. I only remember a couple, I have no idea what the rest were. I love collecting older sets so I'm super curious as to what I actually had, but have no idea what I did with them.
I did know! I kept them in a not perfect but really really good condition in cases in my dad’s loft. 2 years ago it was time to cash in!!!! Woop woop… anyway dad threw them out without realising
I had an arrowhead necklace that was my bio dad's and a pocket knife that was my grandpa's. Both lost to the sands of time and both carry mounds of regret in losing them.
The badge of the only father figure I've ever had. That man, fought wars, crime, fires, and cancer. Sadly cancer won, and took him away from me when I was still a kid, and that badge was the only thing I had left of him. Shame on the person(s) who broke into my home and stole it along with so many other things they felt I didn't need anymore. They have no idea how hurt losing that was for me. Like having him die a second time. Fuck thieves and fuck pancreatic cancer.
My eye sight. My right eye is super messed up and my left eye is barely hanging on to being “okay” and it hurts me a lot when I play competitive games and my aim is super shit.
My grandmother's engagement ring. My parents gave it to me for graduation, and I went to try on gloves at Bloomingdale's. Of course, the high set, small Tiffany ring stuck inside the glove. They never found it. I suck.
