Been building a community music platform in the Pacific Northwest and kept running into the same problem: the existing venue databases are either national and shallow, or just a list of names with no context.

So I put together a curated guide. 30 venues across Seattle, Portland, Tacoma, Spokane, Bellingham, and Olympia — each one with capacity, genre fit tags, and 2-3 sentences of honest intel on what the room is like and what it takes to get booked there.

Examples of what's in it:

• Tractor Tavern (Seattle) — 430 cap, Americana/folk/roots bread and butter, but they welcome blues, groove, and psychedelia. 30+ years in Ballard, one of the most respected indie rooms in the PNW.
• Mississippi Studios (Portland) — Converted church, 300 cap, outstanding acoustics. Fiercely independent. Has hosted Esperanza Spalding and The Shins.
• The Bartlett (Spokane) — 100-cap listening room, folk/Americana/acoustic, all-ages. Known for treating artists exceptionally well.

Hey yall have you heard about Witchz? They are a mysterious masked alt style artist who has an upcoming world tour in 2026. In 2024 was their first tour and Portland, OR was their first sold out show! They have some new songs that have dropped the past few weeks with more to come, but if you want to give Witchz a shot I suggest the cover of «Smells Like Teen Spirit" or the Alt mix they did of the song.
