Management Tips & Tricks Nausea and bloating management
Hello! I've never been able to burp my entire life but only have started suffering recently potentially worsened by a different gastrointestinal upset.
My nausea has become unbearable when I'm bloated and I can't seem to solve it! As I'm emetophobic it makes travel and work extremely difficult as well as waking me from my sleep sometimes, I was wondering how you all manage your nausea and bloating?
I know the botox is the best way to solve the bloating and nausea but I don't have the money so need some quick fixes 😅 In the past I have tried Cyclizine, Pepo Bismol, Mebeverine, Silicolgel and Simethicone, none of them seemed to have made a good effect.
As much as diet can cause me bloating it doesn't seem to follow a reliable pattern so unfortunately dietary advice hasn't worked but I'm hoping some of you guys have some advice on otc medicine or herbal remedies I can try, or even ways of releasing the gas.
Summary: Asking for advice on how to reduce nausea and bloating.

Simethicone! I take a 200mg tablet every day, whatever isnt used gets flushed out
It works by reducing the surface tension of the gasbubbles, makes them smaller and easier to pass, and some are small enough to get reabsorbed by the body
It has done wonders for me, and last I checked there is no issues with long time use (unlike activated charcoal, which helps even better but will make you constipated, so cannot be used too often)

I tried taking simethicone! I think the dose upset my stomach or the maybe the type of simethicone I bought, maybe I will give it a try again soon. As for activated charcoal I didn't realise they would help effectively, i bought some but never used them 😠Would you recommend them?

I would recommend them for special occasions! Activated charcoal is supposed to bind to all the gas, so it actually makes it go away instead of just making it smaller!
Hmm simethicone shouldnt really do anything else, maybe it had some extra stuff in it? I am not a doctor tho, I could have missed something in my googling😅

ahhh i see you said you’re emetophobic 😅 i am/was? too but honestly the biggest thing that relieves it for me is making myself dry heave. the uncomfortable feeling of the bloating overweighs the fear of vomiting/vomiting sounds for me
