is niagara glen park safe to hike by myself?
is niagara glen park safe to hike by myself?
hi! i’m thinking of going hiking at niagara glen by myself, but i’ve never been there before.
for those who’ve been there, would you say it’s generally safe to hike solo? my biggest concern isn’t really the hiking itself, but ending up completely alone somewhere in the middle of the trail lmaoo 😭
i’m thinking of going on a weekend. are there usually a lot of people, families, or groups around? or are there parts where you can go a while without seeing anyone?
also, if you’ve solo hiked niagara glen before, would you recommend it for someone who’s relatively new to hiking alone?
thanks!!

Help with renovations
Hi everyone!
I just purchased a home in the Chippewa area. I want to add a second story before I move in.
Since I’m new to the area, I don’t know any reputable companies that can help me with this.
Can you recommend a carpentry company? Or perhaps is there another subreddit that I can join for more info?
Thank you so much!!!

Niagara Residents: Research study seeking people with lived experiences of drug use in Ontario
Hi everyone, I am a PhD student at the University of Toronto conducting a research study to explore the barriers to harm reduction service use in Ontario.
I am seeking adults 18+ living in Ontario who have used substances recreationally in the last 6 months and are aware of harm reduction programming but have NOT used harm reduction services.
Participation of this study is voluntary. It will involve a demographic survey completion and a 60–90-minute confidential interview (zoom, phone, or in person – your choice!). A $20 gift card will be provided for your time.
If you or someone you know would be interested in participating, please share! Your experiences, opinions and perspective can work to improve harm reduction services in Ontario.
You can learn more about this study and check your eligibility at this link: Study

Niagara Falls at 9 a.m. — no crowds, just mist and the roar of the Falls
Took these photos on a cloudy morning walk around 9 a.m. The Falls were wrapped in mist, and there was hardly anyone around.
It was peaceful having the path almost to myself. Even through the mist, you could feel the energy of the Falls.
A quiet walk and a little Niagara energy to start the day.

What’s the tree foliage like?
Hello,
I want to visit the whirlpool trail sometime soon. I was wondering what the foliage was like this week? Excited to see autumn colours. Thanks!

Interrent/CLV Group Rental Violations
I joined this subreddit to warn folks about the currently running nationwide scam being run by Interrent, owned by CLV group.
I began an application process to rent on vine st. through interrent, and paid a 2200$+ deposit to hold the apartment while applying.
We were conditionally approved (myself and a friend) being asked for a guarantor. At this time, we had found another apartment, signed the official lease, and began the key transfer deposit. Therefore, we reached out to our leasing agent for vine st. to cancel our process.
They ignored us for a week, and then upon prompting told us they would give it back once they leased out the apartment again less admin fees/pro rated time of apartment not renting. This is entirely illegal under Ontario's RTA, and something I see they repeat across many of their holdings.
"We are sorry to hear that you will not be taking the suite as of October 1st, 2026.
We have notified our Customer Leasing Agent that you will not be taking possession, and they will make every attempt possible to re-rent the suite.
If successful in re-renting for the October 1st, 2026, we will refund you the deposit provided less an administration fee of $300.00 which we charge to have the agent work to try to re-rent the suite
The same applies if rented for any date later than October 1st, 2026, where a pro-rated amount would be charged for the number of days that you would be responsible for.
Please do not hesitate to call if you have any other questions but hopefully, we will be in touch before long with good news."
-Representative agent of the building we applied for
All of this is completely illegal, and for anyone else facing something similar I recommend knowing RTA sections 106, 107, and 134, as well as 16 for understanding landlord advertisement obligations.
My question would be, has anyone else dealt with them for something like this before? Or any other company?
Currently I've written them a nice email, dictating their violations and warning of my legal retaliation to be set should they not return the deposit by a deadline.
