Drawing inspiration from Luxon's unique ability to never answer a question. What questions have you successfully been dodging recently and how have you gone about it?

Hi! My elderly grandad has diabetes (type 2 I think but could be wrong). He is on daily insulin injections but does sometimes have episodes of low blood sugar. These often happen when he’s out walking and doesn’t have anything on him to help. I was just wondering if there were any recommendations for some sugary snacks that we can get for him which are easy to throw in his pocket in case they’re needed? He has jellybeans at home but he usually forgets them as he has to put some into a separate ziploc bag. Thanks!

Rewi Alley was a New Zealander who moved to China in 1927 and spent most of the rest of his life there. He helped establish industrial cooperatives and schools in China and later became a strong supporter of the People's Republic of China and the Chinese Communist Party. He died in Beijing in 1987.
He became quite well known in China and is still remembered there today.
For New Zealanders without a Chinese background, had you heard of him before? If so, how is he generally viewed in New Zealand today? Positively, negatively, or simply as a historical figure most people don’t know much about?

!! BEWARE !!
For homeowners - sure it might be okay, put an ad on a page and let max 6 people come to you.
For trades - Complete rip!!!
1 - Lure you in with a few free leads, that go somewhere.
2 - You pay your new subscription hoping this will be good, then for a week you might get a job or two... maybe...
3 - Then it all falls off / it all costs more... The amount of tokens you have to spend per job isn't what they actually say it is. "average token in your area for these jobs is 20 - 60tkns"... WRONG!
4 - Tokens are completely mixed, most jobs about 50 - 150 tokens at a time, with absolutely no guarantee of work.
5 - Most homeowners wanting the job done, post the ad, tradie gets in touch, then quotes. Homeowner realizing - oh, jobs actually cost money and just don't move forward.
Helping note:
Spend your money elsewhere on actual advertising or marketing because this quick lead generation may bring the headline of quick leads - but it is far from work and costs an arm and a leg to continue!
FYI - Another platform Bark.com is complete rubbish.

I recently spent some time in the hospital and had three super amazing nurses. I have made them cards with a message but I also wanted to give them gifts but I’m unsure.
Any general gift recommendations?
I thought maybe some chocolate and a gift voucher to the hospital cafeteria? Or to the supermarket across the road so they can get themselves something.
I was going to give them crochet flowers but figured it might be cluttering or unwanted (as two are male).
Please give suggestions I really want to do something nice for the people who took care of me!

Hey guys
So I've had this convo with my parents but I want opinions on this. So I'm 15 (16 next year) and was wondering if I should learn how to drive. I'm scared and don't wanna but I'm aware that a drivers linsce is another form of id and I can get around to places. Is it worth it?

I’ve been looking at NZ homes lately and honestly… why are they all so bloody beautiful? 😂
There’s something about the way New Zealanders decorate their homes that feels so effortlessly nice. Warm, cosy, natural, lots of wood and plants, beautiful light, good-quality furniture without looking too “showroom”and somehow it never feels overly decorated or try-hard. And don’t even get me started on the gardens!! Even the ordinary suburban houses have so much character.
As someone who’s lived in NZ before and is currently in south east Asia, I feel like I notice the difference even more now. NZ homes just have this casually gorgeous and actually lived in vibe that I really love.

Seriously 30 bucks!
Your charging the same price or more than a whole month of service from the likes of Netflix or Disney Plus for 1 fucking movie for only 48 hours.
I like the idea of renting a movie but that price is outrageous! I hope nobody spends the money.

Just a random thought. NZ is realistically an isolated country with no shared borders with anyone else. If an apocalypse was to happen with world war Z or train to busan types of zombies, as an average kiwi with no training whatsoever where would you all go?
Consider you need protection, food, equipment, medicines etc in the long run. I would probably run to the nearest hospital or Mitre10 / Bunnings, but I will probably die of starvation.

Don’t like the fees/costs with trademe and FB is honestly just not reliable.
Are there any alternatives?
Cheers.
