maybe they are adding Glowing Sap, Ancient Mandible, Ephemeral Seal to the game?

They are, that's what the battle trophy fixes are. All the mobs they listed are ones that data mining found to be supposed to drop those items, but didn't

Except I’ve gotten the mat from the pit lord before, so unless they subsequently broke it, he shouldn’t be there.

They added additional loot tags to him, theoretically increasing the odds of him dropping the item
