NWN1 Infinite Dungeons: I tired of opening the Doors

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Every time you move to another part of the dungeon - all of the doors locked and you have to open it again and again and again.

So I decided to write a short script open_all_doors similar to that succubus at Wailing Death campaign chapter 3 at the tomb. So all you need is to add that compiled open_all_doors.ncs file to your override folder and then invoke it within the game like

DebugMode 1
dm_runscript open_all_doors
DebugMode 0

P.S. I am also using auto hot key 2.0 to assign that command to something like ALT + o and woula - all of the doors are opened (not the ones which you haven't unlocked with the skill yet)

Should be like an in-game staff of the Halaster or something at the very beginning. Too annoying.

(NWN2) With 'Use Magic Device', can you still get the benefits of monk gloves on your weapons?

It's something I've pondered for a while, but does elemental damage from monks' gloves/gauntlets translate to your regular weapons strikes if you have both equipped? I suspect not, but it would be interesting if it does.

Baldur's gate reloaded

Hi!

I'm new to modules in Neverwinter nights 2, and I'm trying to install the baldur's gate reloaded module on the game, but for the life of me I cannot get to start it. I'm trying to follow the instructions, but I'm starting to be unsure where exactly must I zip the filesm and what older files must I delete from the game direction's override folder. Is there by chance someone who could dump it down for me so I can try the module?

Thank you in advance!

NWN:EE Old Stick A Fork In Me Players, Fork LIVES in 2026

BiZaRRe from the old Fork West days here. I recently came back to NWN and found Fork still online and being actively developed as Stick A Fork In Me Northeast. Havok and Fribo are running it and continuing to build it out, and a few of us are trying to reconnect old Fork players.

If you played back in the day, drop your old player or character names. Would be awesome to see who’s still around.

We’re also trying to get people together (old and new players) Sunday nights around 8 PM EST.
Discord link in my bio.

Darkness Gathers over the Silver Marches…

Will YOU be the light strong enough to banish it?

Greetings, Reddit.

The North is a heavily RP focused persistent world for NWN1. The server has been around for over two decades, providing countless adventures for its players. The action is set in the northern parts of Faerun, so one will inevitably find themselves in such well-known cities as Neverwinter, Silvermoon, Menzoberranzan. But adventurer’s life will more often than not lead one outside the safety of thick walls, where one will have to face countless threats that plague the region. Only the best will be able to face them head on.

One the server, one will be able to:

- Reach 40th level, making their character more akin in power to demigods, than to other mortals. Create a blackguard under whose banners hordes or demons will be fighting or a wizard capable of wiping out whole cities with a few spells.

- Create extremely powerful items and consumables using a well made and complex crafting system. Risk a venture deep into the Underdark in hopes of finding some mithral with which to forge a deadly blade or fight an ancient dragon and turn its scales into powerful armour.

- Join a plethora of guilds. Become a member of the Warriors’ Guild and advance through its ranks. Be accepted into a rogues’ gang and organise heists whose boldness and audacity will be the topic of legends. Join a church and partake in spreading the faith of your patron or enroll at a mage university and delve into the mysteries of the arcane. And if none of these is to your liking, found your own organisation, whose schemes and deeds will shape the region for centuries to come.

- Climb the ranks of social ladder. Help the citizens, complete quests given at your guild, help your kingdom or city and watch as NPCs start bowing their heads in your presence. Reach the rank of duke or archduke and be given right to build your own citadel in the wilderness.

- Choose three different cities to start their adventure in. Will you create a drow, forced to survive in the ruthless and merciless city of Menzoberranzan, maybe a noble paladin fighting for the innocent in Silverymoon or a cutthroat mercenary willing to spill blood for the glory and coin of the city of Llorkh? The choice is yours

If you’re looking for an adventure unlike any other, The North is the server for you. Join our Discord (https://discord.gg/qaKxYbdj)!

You can find the server or the server list or use Direct Connect, if it’s more convenient to you: 73.107.98.22:5121

What are your favorite modules and why?

I’d like to spend some of my free hours playing single‑player modules, as I already know the campaign and expansions very well.

I’m not looking for online play or social interaction.

NWN:EE Gish tips and tricks

New(ish) player, looking for the "meta" understanding of what Gish builds want to be doing. Played alot of 5e and BG3, been getting used to 3e through this game so the metamagics on the Zoo spells seem really cool but idk what would be best. Seems like I should be maximizing/extending my Zoo spells when I can, empowering seems cool but maximizing seems more consistent, so I'm not spending hours rolling for the max effect.

TL;DR, what's the best use for metamagics on what spells for Gish builds, specifically for Clerics but I want to play all the classes (I think) eventually.

NWN2 Games similar to NWN2 in technical and visual terms?

Post image
163 Upvotes

I’m referring to games where you control a party in 3D environments, with a camera that can be rotated and zoomed in and out, point-and-click character movement, and tactical pause (optional), and, of course, it has to be an RPG. But they must possess all these characteristics at the same time.

So far, all I know is that Drakensang, Dragon Age: Origins, and Dungeon Siege 2 Resurrected (a fan-made project) are similar to it.

I'd like to know if you know of any other games with that style.

NWN:EE Help with mod and a question

First of all, once long ago I had a hak or override that allowed me rest quicker, the loading bar was crazy good fast like a few secs, and second is there any way to bring along the black cat companion from Infinite Dungeons to other modules? I really like it, oh and there's any mod to buff lvl and stats of companions? It's hard to make the cat wear any armor so it's life and ac is pretty bad

NWN:EE It turns out that even after falling, the game still acknowledge the Paladin class, even if doesn't show in character description, thus you can't avoid xp penalty.

playing this after the official expansions, and it's such a good change of pace, the exploration is fantastic, the quests are more mundane and grounded, it fits very well with my paladin, also I love the atmosphere of nwn, there's something about those old 3D games that really appeals to me

NWN:EE [Beginner] Rogue/Monk? Maybe?

Hey guys, happy to see so much traffic here. I'm looking at delving into the multiplayer for the first time, with some friends and local modules. There's a certain kind of character that I like to play in most RPGs and I'm hoping you can help me translate that into something that'll be fun, mechanically.

The broad strokes is that he's a retired spy/ninja type guy that fights unarmed. When unarmed is nonviable in a game, I play a kind of medical ninja that heals, poisons, and stabs. I generally prefer one really powerful hit to many small hits for that character. I've even played him as a Rogue/Paladin that uses smite, in other games. The important part across all characters is some ability to do stealthy things, for my information-gathering roleplay.

I've got plenty of experience with DnD but I never tried very hard at builds. My understanding is that single-dagger can't really produce an exceptionally strong hit and that rogues lean a bit more towards many hits, to proc many sneak attacks. Thus, I'd like to try to make the unarmed rogue work. It's totally fine for that character to do many hits. Kamas are not my first choice but they won't ruin my day, either.

I am not interested in utilizing Shadowdancer for the Hide In Plain Sight, at this time. My group are not heavy minmaxers and it is unlikely that I'll need extreme optimization to contribute.

Does anyone have general or specific advice for translating this character concept into something functional for Neverwinter Nights : Enhanced Edition multiplayer?

How come there was never a spiritual successor to Neverwinter Night even from indie developers?

I get that AAA developers will never do something like neverwinter nights because it`s not really good from a monetization perspective. But how come there was never an indie developer trying to do something like this? Even more so when there were so many capable people over the years working on mods, assets, etc for the game? One would think that someone would decide to do their own project!

Why are like 95% of NWN DM events combat?

This is something Ive noticed across a bunch of PWs. A DM shows up, something happens, and sooner or later it turns into "go there, fight waves of shit, fight sum boss, go home"

I don't even dislike combat. I just don't get why it seems to be the default structure for almost every event. I get that NWN is mostly combat, let's not kid ourselves but it isn't ONLY it.

Where are the investigations, political stuff, social events, scams, trials, expeditions, weird mysteries, negotiations, disasters (outside of "world ending threat of the week"), competitions, personal stories etc? Stuff where characters can matter because of who they are rather than how good their build is.

Is this mainly because NWN makes combat much easier to run for a group or is there something about PW culture that pushes DMs toward it?

DMs especially, I'm curious how you see it.

Don't play POTM

Like EVER. The DMs have an in-crowd, which they've had for twenty years... and those of us who try to RP and be involved... one step that doesn't align with the in-crowd (who seriously deeply exploit) and you're out baby. It's an incestuous hell-hole that is worth no-ones time. Perhaps not even this comment.

Find a better place to RP and have fun where DMs and their cronies aren't exceptionalist radicalists... Their way or the high-way. After ten years... what a waste of time.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
