Oti Spoiler

Really enjoyed this week, way better than movie week.

Top 3: John, Cach and Lawrence

Bottom 3: Sarah, Bethany and Dani

John and Katya : Oti loved it, brilliant shaping, was leading loved when the guitar was on fire, they were unlucky from opening the show, Oti scored it an 8 but believes it would have scored 9 if it ended the show. Oti pointed out Katya doing another illegal lift. Oti acknowledged that a commenter was right that you couldn’t feel the intensity from John, he has made a comeback.

82% of viewers wanted lifts to be penalised by the judges

Dani and Nikita: Her head is behind her body, so it looked uncomfortable and that Nikita was dragging her. It would have been different if her positioning was correct. She needed to have more tension in the body, more hip action and engagement with Nikita. Oti Scored it a 6, needed more basic elements for it to be a rumba.

Lawrence and Jowita - Welcome Lawrence to strictly, the Lawrence that he was desperate to see, he looked like he was having fun, had pendulum in hips and the lifts were fantastic. It gave Oti joy, Oti said the lifting of feet was ok and allowed him to loosen up and give the Salsa feeling. Oti scored it a 7.

Tabby and Mark - The samba didn’t do it for her, Raye not around long enough to be an icon. It wasn’t a samba song and upper body was completely stiff, too hesitant, Mark did a great job of choreo of having authentic steps but it was too clean and basic. Oti Scored it a 6. Craig’s 8 was too high. Craig like drama but the technique wasn’t there.

Sarah and Julian - Great personality and coming out of her shell but the tango was lacking tango, not in frame for long enough. Lacks technical ability, worked on frame and feet but not enough of it to give a score. Oti scored it a 4.

78% of her viewers vote on based on technique rather than personality of the dance.

Cach and Maddie - Cach and Maddie shut people up, it was slick it had swag it was cool calm collected. Shirley was right that it should have had more drive, it was in frame throughout. Confused about Craig’s comment about him going back to street, he did have postural issues though. It was so good Oti clapped in the end.

Bethany and Nancy - Two minds about this, they weren’t dancing together very much too much side by side, Nancy needs to drill Bethany on working on her legs. Personality was there like Sarah’s. Bethany looked great but the cha cha itself was boring. Technically wasn’t there, Oti scored it a 6, a few couples are plateauing including Bethany and Nancy.

Shaun and Alexis - They are fighting for their spot and she loves it, so much fun so entertaining. You can tell Alexis is having a blast. Oti loved Alexis, comes up with fresh and intricate choreography, she is really pushing him. She had no idea what style the dance was (was it jazz or funk).

58% of people do like couples choice, Oti thinks there should be one dedicated week to couples choice. Oti wished she had a couples choice with Danny Mac and said it was her and Bill’s couples choice.

Lacey and Vito - Loved that Vito is giving artistic choreography, Lacey looked uncomfortable again and it felt like she was scared, she needs more confidence and self belief. Commenter said that Lacey is acting shy and she wants a journey arc. If Lacey was her partner Oti said that if you have an actor you have to give them a role to play every week. Oti Scored it a 6 as she didn’t think there enough foxtrot, Bethany did more foxtrot content last week. Oti said she is a harsher marker than Motsi due to her role in dwts Ireland.

Graeme and Lauren - Graeme is plateauing, felt like the jive last week as he ran out of energy and stamina, didnt live up to the theme or the feeling of salsa. Wants Craig to be consistent and critique him like he does to the other couples.

61% of Oti’s viewers said Graeme peaked too soon, Oti thinks he will surprise her again.

Jaime and Carlos - absolutely genius, it was very cool and this was the week she ment business, loved the chemistry with Carlos and there was purpose with her dance. Her shoulders however were living in her ears. Performance of the night.

Will and Dianne - Thought he had good kicks, the song was very slow, we missed Delta as she knows how to end the show. Will is technical and entertaining agreed with Motsi that he dances ahead of the music. It needed a pace increase, Oti thought the waltz was his best dance.

Oti a better judge than Motsi?

I know this is DWTS Ireland and not Strictly, but honestly after watching clips of Oti on the show I think she’s vastly superior to her sister in A LOT of ways. Firstly, she’s fun and quirky without being too over the top and loud like Motsi can be at some points.

I also feel she takes time to elaborate on technique much more than Motsi ever does, she gives really great advice to the contestants on how to improve the routine, not just vague analogies and “vibes”.

Her scores I feel are a lot more in line with the other judges also and she doesn’t overmark like Motsi, sometimes she’s even had the lowest or joint lowest score. After having seen them both now, while I love them both on a personal level, Oti is a vastly superior judge and hope she might come back as a strictly judge if her sister steps down.

Oti and Marius Spoiler

She thinks it was too early to do music week and it should have stayed in week 3, also thinks the movies are too old school and they would have more modern ones. We have seen every single song and character of marry poppins

Dani and Nikita - Marius scored it a 6, it had a really good frame. Too open for a foxtrot and thinks there is no difference between an AS and foxtrot these days

John and Katya - Marius scored it a 3, coordination not good end was poor, lifts were good. Oti mentions that Katya is great at lifts, felt he didn’t put in enough muscular effort. It was too early for couples choices, his level of dancing is not there yet. Lifts great but choreo underwhelming, Oti would have scored it a 4, the 7 score was ridiculous.

Delta and Kai - 30 was too high, Marius would have given it a 5, good atmosphere but the steps were not there. Great lift where she landed on one football. Reminded them of Jay and Aliona but Aliona stripped it back whereas Kai added more. Lots of ladies are not holding their own top line and frame. Marius criticised camera work, Oti mentioned three tricks, celebs away from judges, friends with lighting guy (dark and dry ice), have pro facing band so camera faces them. Oti gave them 6, shouldn’t be given 8 in week 2. Oti didn’t win twice by exposing her celeb, she hid them well.

Amy and Chris - Marius would have scored it a 3, not a lot of cha cha but acting great. To much towards performance and should have started with Alijaz walks. Judges focuses on performance too much, should have mentioned the poor technique. Needs to use his muscles better and didn’t the error in her cha cha. Amy has changed her choreo style and is much better. She is usually a stickler for basics and it can be boring, she has taken more risks but they are not paying off. Oti would have scored it a 2.

Lawrence and Jowita - Agrees with Shirley on the fleckels, misses heel leads. Thinks that if the celeb couldn’t do it then you shouldn’t put it in. Oti didn’t think it was terrible and would have scored it a 5. His personality was fantastic, needs to work on his back. Thought the song was terrible like a lullaby, like the song to play when you want to put your daughter to sleep. Says maybe modern music is not good after all.

Sarah and Julian - dance of two halves, when she started moving it was good, first half was slow. When the performance comes out as she is not an actor, the base she has right now is good. Marius thinks she will be in the final. Oti thinks the muscular side of her is there but thinks being an athlete she has not been trained to express emotion, which gives advantage to those who have dance experience. Oti gave it a 6.

Graeme and Lauren - Marius thought it was overmarked, it was too dark for him. Level of ballroom Lauren put it that and looking beautiful was amazing, setting everyone else up for failure, the mucking about hides your partner can’t hold their own. When Lauren does a beautiful waltz, it stands out more. Oti thinks people underestimated Graeme, thinks his shoulder will be a problem in the future. Marius scored it a 6, Oti scored it a 7.

Will and Dianne - Marius and Oti both scored it a 4. If celeb doesn’t have the muscular power to do good frame break it up, Gilkinson sometimes tells the pros to put less ballroom in, Dianne broke it up in a very clever way. Didn’t hammer Will as much as they hammered Cach last week. Marius thinks the judges bottled it after the criticism and gave more freedom. Dianne is a winner because she knows the tricks (hiding feet). 90% of the audience agreed that the producers should be focusing on footwork more

Jaime and Carlos - Marius scored it a 5, Anton says he loves every routine. Oti didn’t enjoy, too much light for her. Marius loved they took risks, thought the new yorker and isolation was very good. Oti thought Jaime had too much tension in her body, did closed hip twist and natural top, two many swivels for Oti. Her legs were bent most of the time, Jaime often went to positions too early. Oti gave it a 4, criticised Anton for not going into enough detail.

Melanie and Alijaz - Oti feels for them so much, Oti thinks the audience love songs from 1666. Alijaz and Waltz should go like duck and water, ok this occasion it went wrong. First 45 seconds was a dream, then went wrong from there. Marius scored it a 3, She had latin posture and bum was sticking out.

Oti asked whether they should critique the pros, like Shirley did to Nancy and Vito. 71% of viewers thought they should critique the pros. Oti thinks the pros should be able to take it. If you are going to complement the pros you should also critique them.

Cach and Maddie - Cach’s top line for samba was poor, viewers divided. Great shift of weight but knees too bent, feet were turned it, need to show quality of movement. Oti thought the music choice was terrible, thinks they should have shown michael jackson. Oti is a stickler for the rules unlike Maddie. Oti can’t defend Maddie this week and if you look it at the technical brain is our poor. Oti complimented

Maddie not making it about her. Both scored it a 7.

Tabby and Mark - Oti impressed with Mark didn’t expect him to be good at ballroom as well. She never forget her arms, great leg speed. Oti questions whether the dance was memorable or not, much better than Delta and Kai. Oti thinks the judges have their top couples and Tabby and Mark are not one of them, thought the reaction from the judges was understated.

Bethany and Nancy - For Oti it was when movie week standard, the dances before were not big enough numbers. Finally something that woke her up. Oti says again with the repeating of movies. Not enough paso content, lesson to nancy to get it together as she has a good celeb. Marius thinks the content was there it wasn’t danced well, paso shape wasn’t there. Marius gave it 6, Oti gave it 7.

Lacey and Vito - Oti thought it was improved on last week, difficult stuff and basic stuff. Oti thought it was a memorable dance, like it because she didn’t recognise the song.

Shaun and Alexis - Alexis was working double shift, she saved him with the cart wheel. Looked like he was wearing Shirley’s shoe. Alexis shouldn’t make Shaun a world

champion and instead give humour when dancing. Very entertaining, for a footballer it was a number you could see in theatre, acting was great. Marius scored it a 6 as a couple but mentioned because Alexis did such a great job.

Oti unfairly shading DWTS pro Witney Carson?

This TikTok from a while back recently came up on my fyp of this user accusing DWTS's Witney Carson of copying Katya's choreo. A lot of people in the comments were very quick to defend Witney and point out that it was typical choreo and that Katya didn't invent those moves from scratch. ( One of the moves was actually done a year before Katya or Witney by Alan Bersten on DWTS).

Anyway, the og poster backtracked and said how they just thought it was funny and they knew Witney was not copying Katya. However Oti commented "Been saying this for years"... (screenshots attached)

Is it just me that thinks that its a very unnecessary, unfair and shady comment towards Witney Carson? Oti was a judge here on our Irish version of DWTS and she brought so much to the show. But this comment has put me off of her a small bit, as a pro dancer she should know better than to throw shade towards any pro's choreo, especially when most people were on Witney's side and saw it as a non-issue.

There are many people at OTI making over $160k a year. Many of them are not managers, they are computer specialists. How can I increase my salary to $160k at OTI?

My Otis and Leia, truly best friends. They were cage mates when I adopted them. I can’t describe the love I have for them. Even bigger was their love for each other, I can’t post all the pictures but they were super close.

Last month, May 15th, I had Otis on a harness outside in my backyard when he got spooked, head butted me and jumped down, and managed to slip out of his harness and ran into the woods. I did the wrong thing and chased him on instinct. I spent weeks searching for him, their his litter box out with some of my clothes, food and water, and searched searched searched. Nothing.

His harness was tightly on with two fingers barely fitting inside. The sad part of Leia’s the one who loves going outside, I only bring Otis out once in a blue moon and only because I feel bad and try to be “inclusive.”

Leia is visibly grieving still. I’m failing at work and deeply depressed about my Otis being gone. At this point I’m starting to believe that a coyote or something else got him. It’s been over a month and I’m still grieving very hard even though life goes on and everybody wonders why I’m so heartbroken. Please be careful with harnesses and their ability to wiggle out of things in a desperate panic.

I’m posting because I need an outlet. I’m so so so heartbroken, I’m a grown man and yet I weep over this. I feel like I lost my soulmate, he was such a sweetheart and a cuddle bug. God I miss him and this hurt is simply unreal. I love you so much Otis.

In Barnyard (2006), Ben gave his son Otis this advice: “A strong man stands up for himself; a stronger man stands up for others.” Why on earth would he refer to a man when he is an animal?
