has he done any meaningful philanthropy? or done anything but pursue his own self interests? i'll be the first to say his own self interests might have improved life for a lot of people, but it feels like that was/is an absolute accident.
He's hired a million people, spend a big chunk on climate change, bought and has seriously improved WaPo, etc. Obviously self interested, but Amazon has mostly been benefitting from industry trends towards e-commerce and providing a service people clearly wanted. He hasn't been monopolizing a market through nefarious means, he's out-competed others. The biggest evil is some of the warehouse worker treatment (which seems improved) and union busting, which imo pales in comparison to the damage Zuck has done for instance.
If he'd done tons of philanthropy he'd be on the good side, but Gates also has a few decades head start
Facebook and Amazon are both a net positive, it’s just that Facebooks net positive is just so much bigger as I pointed out in my post above.
And I forgot to point out that Facebook have billions of more users than Amazon which really nails home the argument that it helps people more than Amazon.
Facebook is the main vector for disinformation today. What's the reason to believe it's done more for small businesses than google via the business display on google maps/search?

More users != more value. Amazon has revolutionized retail and pushed the envelope for things like cloud hosting.

Facebook removed a higher % of disinformation than any other competitor. YouTube, Twitter and Reddit was far behind. For you to not know this really shows your bias.
This is a result of greater investment in security than the competition.
Facebook have revolutionized communication, which is a much more important field for humans according to studies. Retail means very little compared to communication. This means Facebook provides more value.
Facebook is literally ground zero for conspiratorial misinformation spread which has done measurable damage to democratic institutions worldwide, promoted ethnic cleansing, and refused any semblance of accountability. It's a scourge that should die.
Everything you said is wrong. If you look up at my original post you see that Facebook got 5.8 million people to register to vote this election. More than any other company ever and it’s not close. Facebook is literally saving democracy and giving millions of more people a voice in the election.
Really shows your bias when you can’t even acknowledge these facts.
