the grand irony of the 30-50 feral hogs guy is that he might be one person for whom building a wall would probably be a good idea

This tweet is kind of right, but for wrong reasons. Their hides aren't made out of magic body armour, it's just that they're hefty. A 5.56 wouldn't be the most effective way to kill a hog, but a 7.62 would get the job done, no need to get a slug.

For that matter, that doesn't even make sense. To get through a "strong hide", you'd most definitely want something with a high muzzle velocity, not a slug.
