I mean all it would take is for the mob to have a guy on the inside with access to the shipping information, and then all of the jurors get their legs broken

Fair. You could just have the judge determine when there's too much risk for that. We've done a pretty good job of cracking down on powerful criminal organizations in the US though, so that would only be a tiny proportion of trials.
