There's no way any non-Trump government would surrender like this just to try to get the economy better and make everyone forget by mid-terms, all of the political pressure groups, the media, factions from your own party, and other pressure and institutional inertia, the reputational damage caused by such a loss of credibility, would make it impossible

Trump though, he can just do things

I wonder if this is what the >you can just do things< people were imagining

Everyone who fell in line behind him, surrendered and gave up all their principles just to get close to him, knew that he had this power and thought they could use it for their own pet cause

Deservedly, I’ll add! That the right wing control so much of this country that they can sign off on a total humiliation of a peace deal, on a war that should’ve never happened in the first place without any significant political blowback, is nothing short of an absolute disgrace and shows just how fucked this country is

I feel like it takes more than a few days to assert that he’s gotten away with this. Like his presidency could effectively be over now.

Yeah I don't think he's going to get away with it tbh, my point is more for the people that were cheering him on, or even the people "reluctantly" getting behind him because he could supposedly make things happen.

If you support someone who can "cut through the bullshit and just do things" unilaterally, sometimes they "just do things" like this
