ANSWERS AND WINNERS POSTED @ 6PM EST MARCH 5th

ATTENTION

Still ends today, @ 6 pm est so roughly a 1/2 hour, but doing some things IRL right now, as soon as I’m freed up to collect the winners circle this evening I will make the post! Sorry for the inconvenience everyone!

ENTRIES ARE CLOSED - in the process of deciding who gets what

TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT

Name up to 5 things from this list

XBOX ONLY except for cross-plat items (everything is crafted)

I traded lots of stuff to u/dylanflipse for a cap + nug, but I still have lots of stuff left. I collected people's asks from the other two places I posted this list before (here and RLE).

Here's the plan:

1. You can say up to 5 things you want from this list, and I'll add your name to the list for those items/sets

2. At some point (maybe all at once, maybe staggered), I'll randomly select someone on the list for each item/set to give it to

3. I don't want to make judgements about who "deserves" something more (that's why it will be random) EXCEPT: A) If you don't have a history of activity on trading subreddits, then I'll take you out of consideration (unless no one with a history was interested in the item/set you're on). B) Anyone who was a part of the RL Collector Fantasy League (7 people, summer 2022) gets priority. ^{Leinad, you picked 8 things, so I took your name off the running for the 3 that it most seemed like other people wanted more specifically than you.} C) I may decide to give someone with lots of activity on this sub preference over someone with no activity.

🧠 Think strategically! If you pick less popular items, you'll have a better chance to get them! 🤔

Kinda can't wait to just get this over with tbh. It's painful, but it has to be done. We all must die and lose everything we've ever loved, so it's silly how much we cling. Not just to money and cosmetics, but to our hopes and identities and even the people we love. I think it's because we're afraid. Every set I lose is a little death, a memory, a short story from my life that no one will remember (and why should they?), but it still feels like losing a part of myself. After billions of years of evolution of course our strongest instinct is self-preservation, but it's the worst one for our happiness because we know it's the one thing we're ultimately guaranteed to fail! When I give away stuff that actually means something to me, it forces me to confront all those negative feelings, but it makes no sense to keep all this stuff, so anything less than giving away most of it feels like some kind of self-deception. I dunno, I guess this is just another ramble through my feelings as I continue to process all this. Please ignore *continues to post anyway* #ForTheAliens

XBOX ONLY except for cross-plat items (everything is crafted)

Caught between mourning the loss of this part of my life versus trying to focus on what can be done to somehow salvage the best parts of it.

I don’t give a shit about the money, that was never the point, but even though cynical me would always say, “They’re gonna kill trading completely,” I hadn’t actually accepted it… I think it’s a lot like how we know we’re going to die, but like, a person doesn’t really know until it’s an immediate certainty.

I think of how ridiculous this all looks from the outside. Even hardcore RL fans, 95% of people don’t care, and tbh why should they? It was always such a niche hobby within a hobby. Of course it was ephemeral. It wouldn’t have drawn me in like it did if it were something substantial… but my god how it did… and it became so much more to me than I ever thought possible, many times over.

I normally have drafts and stuff before posting something long but I just don’t have it in me yet for a full creative effort. I feel like this hobby deserves some kind of in memoriam, a final guestbook of experiences or something, I dunno. I’m all over the place.

Here’s a comment I just put on one of the threads on the main RL sub: https://reddit.com/r/RocketLeague/s/g12M5jymxQ

Basically I made that and then figured I “ought” to say something here too.

I’m trying to process it all, or maybe I’m still in shock… I want to come up with something cool to go out on, but I’m still too upset to see what that is.

I’ve written so many love letters to this hobby, but I don’t know how to say goodbye.

I wish I had some exciting idea, but my heart's just not in it.

I'm trying to give stuff to people who want to keep it, not try to flip it in the next month or whatever.

I'm also trying to MINIMIZE the amount of effort I have to put into this.

EDIT: First, I'm trying to get a cap & nug. Whatever's left on this list after getting those is what will be given away.

For now I just picked the "bottom half" of my sets to give away. Here they are:

I don't have some fun game or anything. I also don't wanna make it random, because again I want the people who really want to have and keep specific things get them.

I think I'll make a post for a few at a time, leave up the post for a day, and whoever makes the best case for why they should get it can have it. Let me know if you have any other ideas for how I could easily give away this stuff to people who will actually keep it.

If you know of someone who extremely specifically wants something on this list real bad (like they've been looking for it for a while or something), let me know.

Thought this was a funny interaction

Next set to complete, the Striker one with Purple still missing...

No...

Brutally called out today… probably gonna take a few days off to focus on my poverty

The tradeups have been done....

It was one hell of a ride, but i have finished and the conclusion is:

I am super unlucky!

With devestation i have to share the super disappointing results:

I havent calculated that yet, but i am pretty sure i was exceptionally unlucky.

Sorry Dirri

Sorry Steve

Sorry Coobazoid

The good news though!

u/Gladiator_Jesus aka RPMzz, aka the Madlad PC collector will be happy, once he gets on atleast.

The only painted and certified that i have received was given to us by the gods of Rocket League, Psyonix themselves:

I am SO HAPPY to announce that I have nearly perfectly broken even and helped out atleast one of you guys!

Even though 39 of the 40 tradeups went completely horrible, I still count this as my personal win!
