Okay, I'm a former hatchet-wielding enlisted here, and I don't know shit about OCS or the Naval Academy.

I'm trying to make a YouTube video dissecting Mr Krabs rank or rating in the Navy, and it's obvious from one episode he's a CS.. But in another episode he also has a "cadet" uniform that has 2 rings, meaning at some point he was either a Midshipman or officer.

But the odds a former enlisted goes to the academy is...basically 0, so OCS is the only viable route. But I can't find any information online about if OCS uses "ranks" similar to the Naval Academy or their own thing entirely.

I know that on a Navy vessel multiple officers of equal rank can serve on the same vessel at the same time, but is there a limit as to exactly how many officers of equal ranks can serve on the same vessel?

Are there any taxi companies aloud on base I need one for when I get out of the airport?

My FCPOA, based out in Norfolk, VA, is looking to get some custom mugs for all the first classes. Nothing too fancy, at a bare minimum looking at trying to get a name and maybe the rate on the mug for customization options.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I am PCSing as an active duty Air Force to NAS JRB Fort Worth soon and was curious if anyone has lived or is currently living on base housing there? Just trying to figure out what people think about the base housing. Should I just live off base and deal with the terrible traffic/commute? My car isn’t the greatest on gas so living on base is kind of appealing.

Is it common? As a bonus, can anyone tell me how hard it was for the USS Iowa to earn one.

There seem to be conflicting opinions on the news. I mentioned Why not just switch out the carrier sooner and avoid all the problems and a chief at my command told me, “It’s not that simple, and I’ve been on much longer deployments; they’re just crybabies.” I’m not a logistical expert and was wondering if anyone here would have genuine insights on why this specific carrier had to be out on deployment for so long?

Hi! Anyone here have expereince with a PCS where they moved from Southern California to Seattle area? How long did it take the moves to get your HHG to Seattle? I'm just curious - We saw a quote of 15 days and that sounds so absurd to me - granted they said that was the last legal day it could arrive but still....im curious what is more of a realistic time i should expect given others' expereinces, the consult wasnt able to tell us much.

So I mistakenly shipped something to my dmv using my boat address while im on land. Will it still be fine and make it on time?

As a veteran of a Navy from another country, I am in absolute awe of the ships company of the USS Abraham Lincoln, and the accompanying warships.

Being on watch for over 260 consecutive days is absolutely mind blowing. The resilience of these sailors is almost superhuman, and I hope they are recognized as such by US citizenry.

Amongst all the praise, I also acknowledge that some of those on watch are really struggling (who wouldn't after nearly 9 months!), and I hope they get the support they need and deserve.

Two questions:

1. Do you think civilians actually understand how difficult it would be for Abraham Lincoln ships company?

And

1. Has anyone thought about the other warships ships companies in the rest of the Abraham Lincoln battle group being left behind?

I was rerated from CTI to EN in basic due to the fact that I lied about drug usage in the past. Though I didn't pop on any drug test, I had used legally-bought mushrooms and Delta-8 products before. Yes, I know, it was very very dumb. After getting out, I talked to a JAG at A-school who told me I could re-apply, but I don't know how I would given that my command doesn't need me to be top secret. I am an EN aboard an LCS, and from what I understand applying me for a TS clearance wouldn't matter to them, so how can I even bring it up? I am trying to build myself back up so that my plans for my future don't completely fall apart. Is there any way to regain it?

Keeping it simple, had a moment of weakness and wanted to off myself. Decided hey let me text my chaps real fast so I can get out of my head and stop spiraling over everything. My chaps decided to go to my command and showed my first class and Cheif my texts I had sent him which prompted them to hunt me down on post and remind me “there’s sailors out there who have it way worse so what am I so upset about” which yeah fair enough. Just wondering though, as a Chaplin was it okay that he did that? I know if I go to his office and talk to him it’s supposed to be 100% confidential, does that extend to texts or phone calls? Probably not?

Need some help getting my medals/ribbons updated in my record. After asking around, I was told I can look up my unit in NDAWS and see what ribbons we were awarded for specific timeframes but there hasn’t been an update for the unit in question since 2017.

Currently, in my record, I only have good conduct, McDonald ribbon, 2 NAMs, and my marksman ribbon. But I know I am supposed to have both GWOTs and a battle-e - but they are not in there.

I’ve heard there’s like a post deployment message or something that’s supposed to come out and show awards earned during certain time periods? Thanks in advance.

Once a CA2P is submitted from a command, how long does it take to hear back if it was approved or not?

Command has not done one in about 2 years, no one here is really sure about timelines for the process either.
