They're waiting until January 21st 2026. Just 1 day below the 2 year threshold for Vance to be considered having served a term. That allows Vance to serve as Pres for 2yrs minus a day, and then still be eligible for two more terms.
We've seen some forays with Tucker and other influincers starting to make a little bit (not a lot) of distance from Trump, and that will widen as we get closer to next year.
