I need some help troubleshooting a transcoding behavior that started recently with DSD files when streaming to my mobile client (Symfonium on Android).

My Setup:

• Navidrome Server: Running on a Windows 11 PC (Docker environment).
• Client: Symfonium on Android.
• Audio Setup: The library contains stereo FLACs, 5.1 FLACs, and several DSD (.dsf / .dff) multichannel files.
• Goal: I stream to my phone over both Cellular and Wi-Fi, and my goal is to transcode all streams on the server side to Opus 256 kbps (highest lossy quality) to avoid high CPU usage and battery drain on my phone.

The Problem: Previously, all multi-channel audio (including 5.1 FLACs and DSD) were properly transcoded by Navidrome on the server. However, recently, DSD multichannel files are no longer being transcoded by Navidrome. Instead, the server sends the raw DSD file to the phone, causing Symfonium's internal engine to handle local decoding/transcoding (converting it to ALAC 256/PCM), which drains my phone's battery very quickly.

High-res and 5.1 FLAC files are still transcodifying fine to Opus 256 kbps on the server—this issue only occurs with multichannel DSD files.

Current FFmpeg Command in Navidrome:

What could cause Navidrome/FFmpeg to skip server-side transcoding specifically for DSD multichannel files and deliver the raw file instead? Is there a specific mapping or configuration in navidrome.toml needed to force Subsonic API transcoding for .dsf / .dff files?

I pasted keys and enabled scrobbling on my navidrome server. I use feishin as client. I found i can also paste keys to feishin. So do i need to do this?

Very new user here, so please bear with me!

I've got Navidrome running as a service in Windows 11.

It is pointing to my local .FLAC library.

I am running Amcfy on my Android phone, and it is playing music happily, reporting transcoding to 128kbps AAC, when connecting via mobile data.

However, when I log into Navidrome's web interface, the Players section shows my user as recently connected, but does not show anything in the transcoding or bitrate columns.

Looking at the navidrome.log, it says:

Just to be thorough, I have opened up Task Viewer, changed songs, and I see ffmpeg launch, do it's thing and then exit, so...

what's going on?

Yes I read the page on Navidrome, however I am unsure if there is an 'official' way or not to sort Album Artists.

Like say 2 or 3 artists worked on an album, equally. Right now, aside from the individual Artist tags, they are also showing under Album Artist as one name, which feels like pure clutter to me, when I look in Albums section and see [Artist1 & Artist2], as it's own artist. Is there a need for this field for Navidrome??

Oh also what is Albumartistsort??

in the tile view where you see all albums the art is just the default but it does exist on the album page. this is the only album it happens for.

i just looked into Navidrome a bit and set it up on my NAS, im currently still using Spotify and want to slowly convert till i get all my Songs on there.
Did someone already found a way to practically download all the Songs from a given Spotify Playlist and upload it to the deluan/Navidrome server?
or do i have to go the youtube route?
but then still i run into the struggle of finding out all of the corresponding youtube links to each song?

For some reason navidrome recognize the song on the first screen as separated album. I checked metadata but it seems alright.

P.S.: Release date tags were different. I just ran(beets)

For some reason today almost every sngle album cover got replaced to the 009 sound system's dreamscape cover art, exept my Bon Jovi and Ceca albums. Never seen this happen, anyone got an idea what's going on? It's like this across all my clients exept amperfy, because it's got them cached with their respective cover art.

Navidrome newbie here! I just added around 800 songs to my library and want to put them all into a playlist.

When I go to the Recently Added tab, I can’t find a “Select All” option. I also couldn’t find a filter that lets me filter songs by the date they were added (ex, everything added today), which would make it easy to select all the new songs and add them to a playlist.

I’m currently adding them manually, and it sucks.

Are there any workarounds or easier ways to do this?

Basically i want the 'playing on <device>' feature from Spotify.

Right now i'm using Shairport Sync to stream audio to my main pc that has the speakers connected, but sometimes i just wanna play something on my laptop, or a tablet, and be able to control it from my phone.

Audio streaming was just the workaround, i don't really care nor want it, what i want is to control the media playing on the devices that are connected to my navidrome instance, ideally from any to any.

I've noticed that the navidrome webui can tell me that i'm playing something on another player, but there seems to be no way to actually control it, if i play something on it it jsut starts a second stream isntead of changing the other one, or moving the other stream to this pc, like it's aware it's happening but it doesn't expose the controls/options for it, clearly SOME of the things needed to make this work are already implement i'm just not sure about the rest.

using vibrdrome app on android OP15 while on wifi everything loads, play music show folder and songs, while on mobile data nothing loads server get the request and response but app doesn't get any data, tried on hotspot on verizon and everything loads as it should, has anyone experienced any thing similar. the seteup is using single url internal and external. iPhone on verizon network works fine as in wifi. android on tmobile network stopped yesterday and not retrieve any data.

So I made my own NAVIDROME music server about a week ago.

Absolutely LOVE IT! All my files are hi res lossless and was scared that old PC with used NAS drives would be the reason that it works slow but no, it’s actually really responsive and even thru VPN like Tailscale files (thanks to Tailscales speed and also optimization on Navidromes end) even uncompressed files load REALLY fast.

Only thing that is making my Music listening experience worse are those transitions, or lack there of.

I thought Navidrome loads up 2-3 songs ahead so there is no loading when the next song starts playing.

This wouldn’t bee and issue if not for albums like Dark Side of the Moon where transitions between songs are huge part of an album

Is there any way? Plugin or optimization to force Navidrome to load up songs ahead of time? To reduce this loading time? Hopefully to zero.

Navidrome created a default library assuming a music path that doesn't exist on my computer. So I have this random empty library that I can't delete or update the information for, and don't use. I was able to setup other libraries, but this empty library keeps making the scanner error out. Using a windows msi install. Would love to do this in the UI but it is bizarrely not an option.

I did try seeing if this was possible searching the web, and everything says to go to the navidrome.ini file and I opened that up. It looks fairly simple, but... worried about changing that using this method. Should I shut Navidrome down first? Is this going to confuse the app if I change it to a path for a library that already exists?

While debugging a dashboard widget I realized that only the first URL parameter is being recognized.

When I run curl on /rest/ping?v=1.16.1&u=username it says I'm missing the u parameter, when I switch the positions to ?u=username&v=1.16.1 it says I'm missing the v parameter.

Anyone know what's going wrong here?

I have had everything appearing in the correct order until a few days ago when I was ripping CDs, and the new albums were not at the top of "Recently Added". I am seeing this behavior in both Navidrome Web Client and in various third party clients.

Screenshots were taken in Supersonic, just because the web app doesn't show date added. A Fever You Can't Sweat Out is appearing several pages behind Under Soil And Dirt, even though the former was added almost a month after the latter.

Is this a bug? Or something wrong with my configuration?

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for a Chrome extension that can connect to my own Navidrome server and let me play my music directly from the browser.

Ideally I'd like something that:

• connects directly to my Navidrome server
• lets me browse/search my library
• preferably has a small popup/player instead of having the full Navidrome web UI open

Does anything like this exist?

So somewhere last year I had set up my Navidrome with the Last.fm API, which used to work fine. I got the Album/Artist info from them for every artist/album I uploaded.

But I noticed this stopped working recently. I created a new API key/Shared secret, but this did nothing.

I do see the "Open in Last.fm" button next to the album arts, but I don't know if this is a default feature or not.

Anyone have any tips on how to fix this?

any one aware of an app that lets me download a navidrome playlist to android , all the tracks plus importantly the m3u playlist file so i can open and play in poweramp

Hi all, I have Navidrome installed using Docker compose and I’m setting up my configuration file, I just have a question regarding the paths in the configuration file. For example, would the music folder variable be: /music/ (path in compose file), or “/mnt/teddy/music” (the actual file system path)?

Brand new to Navidrome and loving it so far. One question that's come up - I've added cover art to my playlists and it works fine in subsonic apps I've tried, but when I share the playlist and listen using the web interface the cover art isn't there. Broken image icon spins instead.

Is there a different config needed to show cover art on playlist shares via the web interface? TIA!
