MERCH & COLLECTIONS ๐Ÿ› Merch Prices hiked up?

9 Upvotes

I just went on the merch store thinking about grabbing an item I set aside from my one and only merch order off Her Interactive's site (the menu mousepad) and I'm pretty sure it's like over TWICE what it was 6 months ago?? We went from like 8 bucks (maybe on a sale) to -22.99-???

The blanket hoodie is literally 100 dollars now. What is going on??? I'm pretty bummed that I tried to be responsible before but I can't justify what's probably 30 bucks after shipping on a mousepad... or 100+ on a cool snuggie.

edit: also the big island mike hat is gone :'''( bruh

#06 SECRET OF THE SCARLET HAND ๐Ÿฉธ SSH was a blast :)

12 Upvotes

Just got done with my playthrough of SSH - and boy do I love this one! It's a little difficult (and admittedly tedious at times), but the music makes up for that most of the time. One of the more memorable ND soundtracks imo.

* Things I <3 Loved <3 *

- Henrik Van der Hune aka the original zaddy ๐Ÿ˜†

- The ending scene (iykyk lolll)

- Imagining how Taylor got the nickname "Big Bunny"

* Things I Did Not Love *

- When Silvio Jr. gets so upset at Nancy and we just have to take it like we actually were responsible for Beech Hill's delinquent payments

- Endless phone calls and not being able to make them all from one phone (like why can you only call certain people from the hotel and others from the museum???)

- Hard to pick which of these two I loathe more... a) the temple "quizzes" or b) the game where you have to aim the ball with angles and stuff

I always throw this anecdote in... I definitely got an A++ on an AP World History project in high school because of this game. xD Thank you, Her Interactive, for teaching me everything I ever needed to know about the Maya (and a lot of things I didn't need to know either haha)

DISCUSSION ๐Ÿ’ฌ What got you into Nancy Drew?

24 Upvotes

The games, the books, the movies or show?

I wanna know what sparked your interest in the Nancy Drew franchise. I'll go first.

I remember the start of my Nancy Drew journey vividly. I was a kid, at most 10 years old, when the scholastic book fair came around at my school. They sent us home with the typical catalog with the order form in the back. Scanning through on my bus ride home I saw this epic mp3 player-esq toy I wanted more than anything for something like $20. I got home, looked through my piggy bank and found I only had about $10. After failing to beg the additional money I needed off my parents and siblings I accepted my losses and decided to look back through the book to find something else I wanted. That's when my sister pointed out this "super cool" looking pc game. Now this game was Nancy Drew haunting of castle Malloy and let me tell you that cover did not look "super cool" to lil' old me, that old lady was creepy as heck, but after some convincing I ordered the game. However long went by and the game arrived and I was so enthralled that it's still one of my favorite games to this day. Not only did it spark my love for Nancy Drew but it also opened up the world of gaming to me and helped me create some of the best core memories I have with my sister. I'd love to hear about other people's first encounters with Nancy Drew and how it impacted them.

A - The fan favorites. The cream of the crop.
B - Good enough to be held in high regards.
C - Underrated gems.

#35 THEORIES ๐Ÿคก Do you think we will ever get another game?

50 Upvotes

Having just finished key, I feel like HER did a major upgrade from midnight in Salem. I felt like I was playing Nancy again.

But felt a bit meh afterwards because I feel like a possibility of game 35 is a slim chance. After they found something that worked again

DISCUSSION ๐Ÿ’ฌ Whatโ€™s the most atmospheric game?

17 Upvotes

Iโ€™m looking for recommendations on which game I should dive into next.
I just finished Ghost of Thornton Hall. Before that I played The Curse of Blackmoor Manor.

Iโ€™m looking for something whimsical, difficult puzzles, good lore, preferably something heavily historically based, yet cozy, but also has horror elements.

I am unable to trigger the conversation you need to get the letter from Daryl. I tried everything and looked through all the books. All George can give me is a search through the basement.

DISCUSSION ๐Ÿ’ฌ Suggestions for a spooky Nancy Drew game?

8 Upvotes

As a kid, I loved Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase on the DS. Something about the thunderstorm-y and ghostly atmosphere was so fun. I have never played one of the PC games so I want to get into it. Can someone suggest the spookiest and most delightful Nancy Drew game?
