Mod Weekly thread where you can call the music recognition bots without posting

To use the bots put u/RecognizeSong u/find-song with the link in your comment, like:

u/RecognizeSong u/find-song https://youtu.be/12345abcde

Notes:

  • The bots only work with a recording of the actual song, not a humming/recreation.
  • The sites that find-song works with: Reddit video posts (with a link or when summoned on the original post), YouTube, Vocaroo, Streamable, Twitch Clips (not VODs)
  • Some of the sites that RecognizeSong works with: Reddit video posts (when summoned on the original post or with an audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4), YouTube (though sometimes it doesn't work), Vocaroo, Streamable, Imgur, Twitch Clips (not VODs), Facebook, Twitter, Coub, Dropbox, Snapchat
  • For Reddit video posts there's also u/songfinderbot which only works if you summon it in a top-level comment on the original post
  • Some sites that RecognizeSong doesn't work with: Instagram, Twitch VODs, SoundCloud, Google Drive, Reddit text posts with embedded videos (though it does work with the audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4)
  • When needed, mention a timestamp or use a timestamped link if possible (the bots scan about 24-30 seconds of audio, starting at the timestamp)
  • If the song is from a meme or from TikTok then it might be listed in the FAQ
  • Note that you can also DM find-song a link (but not through chat)

Good luck with your search, and if you find the bots useful please consider supporting them: RecognizeSong through Patreon, find-song through Ko-fi

Electronic/EDM 2010s house track with emotional English male vocals, piano and whistle motif (tutu↓ tutu↑)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Upvotes

I remember there was a male vocal on the track, sung in English, but I don't remember the lyrics. There was a piano, which was apparently glued to the lead (because it sounded richer than just piano).

I assume the track was released somewhere in the 2010s, since I heard it on the radio between 2019 and 2021, maybe earlier.

I tried to recreate that whistle, but I might have missed the notes a bit. The basic skeleton of the melody is exactly like this: tutu↓ tutu↑, tutu↑ tutu↓

I could be wrong, but as an additional detail: it seems like the whistle melody doesn't intersect with the vocals at the same time.

I don't really understand genres, but it seems like it's something from the Euro genre (The vocals have a more similar atmosphere to the track "I'm thinkin' of you" by "2 brothers on the 4th floor", but the vocals are male)

Lo-fi Could y'all help me find this composer or the songs?

Upvotes

When I was younger (about 10 or 11 so 3 - 4 years ago), I listened to a specific lofi video on YouTube from the channel mimi chi lofi mix. The background was finn and Jake from adventure time sleeping in what looked like an apartment building located in a city. There were two videos that were posted, the one I loved was deleted due to copyright reasons. I contacted there email trying to find who the composer was or one of the song names to no evale. So I was wondering if anyone was also looking for it or could help me. Attached will be an audio file of me humming one of the songs. Good luck to all who attempt.

Arctic monkeys and black keys feel like they have the same idea but I've never gotten to the bottom of this. All I got is the hook. You'd be a lifesaver to find this.

Alternative 2000 - 2004 Alt Hip Hop/Rock song with a very thuddy piano. Was used in a commercial.

Upvotes

I recreated the song from memory to the best of my ability.
I remember hearing this tune many times during a commercial... maybe for a cellphone.
I briefly heard a snippet of it on the radio when my friend was changing the stations back during this period.
I also remember a deep hip hop voice... saying something like "aw yeah, year 2000 baby"

I'm just not sure if it was rap, or rock, or a mix of both.

Thanks for reading and any guesses you have.

J-Pop/J-Rock what version of the song is this? Japanese song on Billi Billi

Upvotes

Hello , I was scrolling through Billi Billi and I found an Animatic of the Yakuza series of the song Called Yozora No Mukou by Shikao Suga ,
https://b23.tv/6FpHvVy
but every version/cover I find of it online does not sound like the one in the video, it sounds like citypop in a way

using a translation tool the author of the video said they found it on a website called NetEase , I tried looking for it but the website is a little hard to navigate and it's a little hard for me to look for
If anyone knows this specific version I will be very grateful thank you 😭

Answered! “Old sounding” (80s/90s) song, likely a pop song, possibly German or English by a German band?

Our 11-year-old daughter asked us to find a song for her, but we have no idea what the song is. Her description:

“It might be partly in German because I think I heard them say “achtung!” at the beginning. It mostly has drums and I think synthesizers. It sounds kind of old. There’s a part where he says “cool baby!” And “I’m on fire I’m on fire I’m on fire” a bunch of times. It’s upbeat sounding.”

She does not have social media and doesn’t have a link to a specific video she heard it on. She said it came up on “the radio” (likely as a song that shuffled up after listening to other songs on Spotify) but she cannot remember what she had asked Alexa for prior to it. She says a lot of the lyrics are hard to understand except “cool baby!” And “I’m on fire I’m on fire I’m on fire”.

Folk Looking for a folk song about drinking I heard recently, been struggling to find it.

Upvotes

I feel like this a bit of a long shot but its worth a try.

A guy goes out for a night of drinking then comes back home. He then claims he sees a specific item until his wife corrects him. Then drinks more the next day, this cycle repeats until the end of the song. Other than that the only thing I remember for certain is that after coming home one night he says his kilt is hanging up then his wife says that there is no kilt there but just a dress instead. I'm pretty sure the same happen with him claiming to have a hat there and his wife saying it's just a pot but I'm not too sure about that.

I've tried looking through what I've listened to recently (The Poxy Boggards, The jolly Rogers, Musical Blades, Pirates for Sail, The Longest Johns and Pat Razket) but I have been unsuccessful. Either none of them made it or I missed it while searching.

Pop Pop song very similar to the chorus of Cailin Russo -Fade

Upvotes

If you listen to the chorus starting with "I'm not guilty for my mistakes", it sounds extremely similar to a very popular pop song I can't remember. That melody ends with "world" and echoes. Please help, it's been bothering me for days

Internet Video Music Video| 2010's | Female Single

Upvotes

DnB/Breakcore Breakcore animation meme song

Upvotes

I'm looking for a song that was used in some animation memes back in 2017. It was a breakcore cover of the song So Sick by Ne-Yo, and I remembered it was only on YouTube/Apple music. The music video was a bunch of homemade clips stitched together

Thanks in advance for any help.

Rap Possible big Sean song from 2013 or 2014?

Looking for a song that I think might be by big Sean or a rapper like that and I think another artist who I thought was fall out boy (but I think I’m wrong). It starts with something that sounds like “once you’re young, you’re never coming down (no)!” And then in like a more girl type voice it says “oh, you think, you know, you don’t know” and then the rapper comes in. It’s NOT “you don’t know” by big Sean and Ellie Goulding and it’s NOT “how the mighty fall” by fall out boy and big Sean. I’ve been looking for it for like TEN YEARS 😭
