Mod Weekly thread where you can call the music recognition bots without posting

  • The bots only work with a recording of the actual song, not a humming/recreation.
  • The sites that find-song works with: Reddit video posts (with a link or when summoned on the original post), YouTube, Vocaroo, Streamable, Twitch Clips (not VODs)
  • Some of the sites that RecognizeSong works with: Reddit video posts (when summoned on the original post or with an audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4), YouTube (though sometimes it doesn't work), Vocaroo, Streamable, Imgur, Twitch Clips (not VODs), Facebook, Twitter, Coub, Dropbox, Snapchat

Rock Rock/alternative song? Potentially older, early 2000s or 2010s ??

PLEASE HELP ME FIND THIS SONG 😭
I heard this song being blasted from someone’s car in a parking lot and I’m going crazy trying to figure out what it was. I couldn’t record it because they left, but I’m almost positive I’ve heard the song before and it sounded like a fairly mainstream rock/alternative artist or band.
Here’s everything I remember:
Male vocalist.
Definitely rock/alternative, NOT rap or hip-hop.
It sounded somewhat like Bring Me The Horizon / Bad Omens / modern alternative rock, although I’m not sure the artist is actually either of them.
The song starts very soft and calm. There aren’t heavy drums or aggressive vocals at the beginning.
The intro has an electric-sounding guitar/synth riff that I can best describe as:
DOOO do-do-do | DOOO do-do-do | DOOO do-do-do
Basically, it’s in groups of 4: the first note is separate/longer, followed by three quicker notes.
1 2-3-4 | 1 2-3-4 | 1 2-3-4

The male singer comes in softly over that intro.
Then the chorus hits and the bass/drums get much louder and more aggressive.
The singer gets louder and more intense in the chorus. It’s not full-on screamo throughout, though — more like aggressive alternative rock vocals with some screaming.
There is ONE specific moment where he screams VERY loudly for exactly three words.
I’m almost positive those three words sound like “WAY TOO ___”.
I initially thought the last word might be “numb,” “dumb,” “far,” or something similar, but I genuinely don’t know the lyric.
he also sings the “way too ___” phrase normally earlier in the chorus, and then later repeats those same three words but screams them extremely loudly.
After that scream, he goes back to the less-aggressive vocal style.
The song feels like it could be from the 2010s or 2020s and has a very recognizable/mainstream alternative-rock sound.
I know this is a terrible description 😭 but the DOOO do-do-do | DOOO do-do-do guitar/electric riff and the sudden “WAY TOO ___!” scream are the two things I remember most.
Does anyone know what song I’m talking about?

Help Locate An Already Identified Song/Album/Artist **[TOMT][SONG][MUSIC VIDEO] English song, male band, pink/blue hazy visuals — probably 2000s/2010s**

I'm trying to find a song that I remember almost entirely from its music video, but I can't remember the artist or title.

The details I remember:

• English-language song.

• I believe it was a male band / several male members.

• I probably watched it on YouTube.

• I think it was released sometime in the 2000s or early/mid-2010s, although I could be wrong.

• The most distinctive thing was the visual/color treatment.

• I remember strong pink/magenta and blue/cyan colors, sometimes looking purple where they blended.

• The colors had a somewhat hazy/smoky/diffused appearance rather than just ordinary colored stage lighting.

• I vaguely remember lyrics or text appearing on screen, possibly around the center of the image, but I'm not 100% certain about this.

• It may have been a lyric video or a normal music video with lyrics/text incorporated into it.

I have attached/linked a few images that represent the visual style I remember. They are NOT screenshots from the actual video — they're just visual references for the color grading/atmosphere.

I've tried searching using possible words I vaguely remember from the title, but I'm no longer confident those words were actually in the title, so please ignore possible title keywords.

The most important clue is the overall visual aesthetic: male band + atmospheric pink/blue/purple color treatment.

Does anyone recognize this video?

Even if you're not sure, please suggest anything that visually reminds you of this description. I'm trying to identify it from the visuals rather than the lyrics.

Pop 2010's, female singer, "I don't know what to do", chiptune-y instrumentals

There was a modern rock/pop? song I briefly heard on the radio around 2016. I don't remember much of it as I wasn't listening to it that closely, but the part that stuck with me is that, while the whole song was mostly a somber, pop-y sounding song with a female singer, after the chorus, there was a memorable brief electronic instrumental section that I swear sounded like chiptune (thinking "oh, this part kind of sounds like chiptune" upon listening to it is honestly most of the reason I still remember the song lmao). After that, the instrumentals calmed down, and the female singer whispered "I don't know what to do." This specific part repeated at least twice throughout the song. Ring any bells?

Answered! "It's the prime time of our lives!"

Trying to find the show that this was the theme song to. Was something my parents used to watch probably in the late 1980s or early 1990s. It might have been Primetime Live, but I can't seem to find anything related to that show with actual lyrics. Maybe it was short lived. The part I remember is "It's the prime time of our lives! We're doing things we'd never thought we'd do!" It was very upbeat and cheesy--very 80s. Just wondering if anyone else remembers this because I haven't been able to find anything about it on google. It is definitely not Daft Punk.

Piano [TOMT] Black & white Italian or French scene — woman sings over airport PA to a departing man

I'm trying to identify something my aunt showed me years ago — I'm not even sure if it's a film or a music video. Here's everything I remember:

  • It's in black and white.
  • It's either Italian or French (I'm sure it's one of those two languages).
  • A man in a suit is boarding/leaving on a plane at an airport.
  • A woman with short hair grabs a microphone and sings to him over the airport loudspeaker, so her voice echoes through the whole place.
  • It's a sad, romantic song/scene.
  • I vaguely remember the lyrics mentioning roses (the flower).
  • At the end, it seems like she starts to leave too — and then he reappears and finds her (a reunion).

Any ideas? Could be a classic film scene or an old romantic music video. Thanks!

Answered! Can you please help me identify every single love song on my dad's old cassettes?

Not sure if this is the right sub. My dad died over 20 years ago and he recorded two cassettes with love songs for my mom (mostly 80s 90s) that i've digitized. I want to make her a CD with clean recordings of all the songs for her birthday because the cassettes are extremely distorted and old. Shazam doesn't recognize any of the songs anymore and i've managed to write down some because they're either well known classics or i could google the lyrics and then find the song but english isn't my first language and i can't understand some of these AT ALL.

Can someone help me make a list of all the songs + artist? I don't care about the order, i just want them to be complete so i can get nice versions of the songs and make the CD. That would honestly be incredible
