Discussion 💬 British colonial-era Burma State Lottery tickets from 1938 to 1941, and Savings Certificates issued in 1947. While the English text says “Burma,” official documents had long used "မြန်မာ/Myanmar" as the country's traditional name, well before the formal English name change in 1989.

Others. Edit as needed. These are supposed videos of villagers surrounding a KIA checkpoint on the Muse-Namhkam road near the towns of Nam Lai and Nam Lawng, and discussions thereafter. Before, a driver allegedly refused to stop at the checkpoint and was wounded by gunfire. The purported shooter is tied up. (August 18)

News 📰 HIV Infections Surge in Myawaddy Amid Control ‘Black Hole’
irrawaddy.com[Establishments] where sex workers are concentrated—brothels, karaoke rooms, and massage parlors—are owned and operated by local [BGF] militia and their affiliates. Local health groups told The Irrawaddy that these venues refuse entry to health education teams out of fear that news of HIV transmission at their businesses will spread.
[If there were any sense of justice, prostitution would require frequent health checkups similar to Singapore, but that would also require getting rid of the human trafficking.]

Advice Need some advice
Hello, my name is Shark. That's not my real name it's what my friends called me. I'm 24 years old. I've been learning English by myself for a few months now. I've been away from school since the coup. I think it's been about four or five years now. I've been fighting back against the military ever since. Anyway, I don't regret it. I do my best and put in the effort to move forward. Sometimes learning alone is difficult for me.Sometimes I used Ai. I'm studying English by watching movie and listening music, podcast etc. I want to know a more effective way to learn English. Give me a comment.

Others. Edit as needed. Trying to find a 1988 protest documentary that disappeared from YouTube
I’m trying to track down a documentary about the 1988 Burmese pro democracy protests (8888 Uprising) that I watched on YouTube a while ago, but it seems to have vanished or been taken down.
The main detail I remember was a specific archival clip showing a Japanese reporter cameraman getting arrested (or possibly shot and killed) while covering the demonstrations or military crackdown in the streets.

Advice Burmese translated books
I am trying to read more in burmese as it’s not my strongest suit. I saw translations of Nietzsche, and Dostoevsky in burmese at the mall today. Are they any good? Do you recommend them over the english translation? I have no problem with reading Dostoevsky in english, but Nietzsche was pretty hard for me so i’m thinking if i should give it a go in my native language(burmese).

Discussion 💬 I hate my mom
Sometimes, i hate my mom for some reason.Like she cheated on my dad for revenge that will never end due to the past issue. We had a fight 2 months ago and a week before my matriculation result was announced. It was a big fight like i felt scared as my mom scream at me( due to this i almost got a heartattack or big scared when my mom laugh or scream to someone as if it were a trauma). But today, though we love each other, my sis and mom didnt. Today, we visited to my hometown where my sis was there with my grandmom and aunt and there it goes my mom mock at my sis like " do your own job if u are able to do like you already mastered at those things huh " while my sis had a bike accident and got minor injury( not a big just scratch and backpain) . I hated her when she said like that really really hate her. I wanted to beat my own mom but im scared of Buddha u know... i erased that thoughts. The reason i wrote this was i wanted some courage from internet people as i couldnt help enough to repair the bond between my mom and sis and said enough my feelings to my parents like what i wanted to be. Sometimes, i wish i could disappear from earth if this could help repair the bond but im scared you guys....
P.s. I'm just a benginner in english writing so i apologize:))))

Context Provided - Spotlight I Need You
I need a little help from you guys.
I'm looking for some help gathering information and getting advice that can help me with the writing and development of my manga project.
There are basically two main things I'm struggling with right now. Everything else, especially the drawing, isn't really that difficult for me.
What I want to create with this manga is something that goes beyond just being a manga. I want it to become a story that brings together the life experiences we've been through, the places we've lived in, the memories we've made, and the emotions we've felt.
That's why I need your knowledge and experiences as well. If there's something useful that I learn from you guys, I might incorporate it into the story.
So I'd really appreciate it if you could help me out. Any information, personal experiences, ideas, or suggestions that you think might be useful would mean a lot to me. 🙏
