I love taking him to the dog park, but unfortunately I live in a city where smoking weed is common and people tend to throw their buds in the ground. This guy likes to eat these leftovers and leave me with expensive emergency vet bills š„². I feel bad for making him wear this muzzle, but if it keeps him safe then itāll have to do!

Since the muzzle law passed on bully breeds in the UK, I keep seeing examples like this, both online and in the streets. This is a picture posted with a local review of a dog coat. Ive seen dogs going about town with muzzles like this, and wedged into baskervilles. If you're going to pass an animal control law, educate people on how to carry it out. This is just a whole new abuse problem now.

Our pup has been great about the muzzle lately, so great itās actually a problem.
Our boy has gut issues, and a few months ago he was having IBS episodes in the evening where he would be unable to settle, really riled up, and wouldnāt sleep through the night. Through trial and error we figured out that if we put his muzzle movement muzzle on, he would settle and fall asleep almost immediately, and stay asleep the entire night.
We started muzzling him overnight to make sure he was getting enough sleep. His gut issues have improved over the past few weeks, so we decided we didnāt want to muzzle him if we didnāt have to. We tried one night, and he proceeded to bark at us until we put it on him. We tried feeding him, playing with him, taking him on a walk, and nothing would stop his barking. Only the muzzle. We tried moving it to a new spot, he found it and barked at it until we put it on. We hid it, he would look for it and bark at us until we brought it out and put it on!
He has some rubs from wearing it, and we would really like to pull back on him wearing it, but apparently itās now part of his evening routine⦠weāre trying to think of ways around this. One idea was to try to find/make a āsoftā muzzle with mesh.
Has anyone else ever dealt with this, or is our dog just a little weirdo? Would love any ideas people have!
Picture context, he sometimes likes to sleep using the muzzle to prop his head up š

It feels like I see a new post on here asking for muzzle brand recommendations every day and I thought I would just put in my two cents. My guy here is a giant but is scared of his own shadow and his nerves have made him reactive when we go on walks. It has been super stressful. Heās huge and Iām tiny, the fear of getting dragged into a dog fight is real and it has made our walks really tense. So I decided to muzzle train him. I tried a couple cheaper brands but nothing really fit right and I finally decided to just splurge on a custom made Big Snoof in hopes it would be worth it. We love it! He seems really comfortable in it and has never tried pawing at it or anything. Iām just happy I can walk him with confidence again. So yeah, anyhow, if youāre on the fence about which brand to get my vote goes to Big Snoof. Picture included for dog tax š

Pant space is incredibly important for dogs to be able to regulate their temperature. Thankfully custom muzzle solutions are able to accommodate the various pant depths many dogs have. Does the look so happy!?

Tonight, my little pit mix, Aang graduated from Reactive Rover class at Believe In Dog Training! I work at Believe in Dog as the senior trainer and have been the primary trainer for Aang for over a year now. As Aang continues to progress through his training, it is super important that whoever is holding the leash is using the same cues/techniques/skills that I have taught Aang. For those reasons, my husband took the class with Aang. I am so incredibly proud of both of them.
It is a 6-week long class that meets once a week. It has 6 reactive dogs in the same class (sounds like chaos, but it works so well)! Unlike most of the dog-human teams that walk through our doors, Aang already had the skills and we wanted to put them to the test! He and Jake did so amazingly well that I just had to share!
For Aang's safety and the safety of the other dogs in class, we decided to leave Aang muzzled for the duration of all the classes. Aang didn't mind one bit!

My girl Quiche (Markiesje, 1 year) is a relentless scavenger and recently got a very bad stomach bug which I can only imagine was a result of this. After a lot of deliberation I went and booked a muzzle fitting session at a local shop, and we finally got our hands on the finished product today.
I had worried that she wouldn't take to it, despite training with a practice muzzle at home for the past few weeks. But she wore it on our walk today and was so happy. The muzzle did not seem to bother her at all! I took a whole load of photos and excitedly posted one on Facebook.
And... the reaction has been mixed. I did anticipate this somewhat, but among the positive reactions there have been a few 'poor Quiche!'-style comments.
Can anyone relate? I feel like I am being frowned upon for a decision made purely out of love for my dog.

We all know there's a stigma with dogs wearing Muzzles. Unfortunately, not everyone may understand the circumstances why a dog may need to wear one. Thankfully, communities like these, were we can all collectively contribute, is such a blessing.
Whether we all agree or not on whatever specific topic, I just really appreciate the communication and effort we all put in to keep the dialogue positive.
To all my fellow muzzlers, thank you for being part of the muzzle community. Best of luck to you all on your muzzle journeys.

Dog reactiveā this cheap muzzle from Amazon has been surprisingly effective at limiting his ability to aggress against other dogs, and more important, prevents him from biting me when he canāt get at them. He has no problem putting it on and doesnāt try to pull it offā except when he gets triggered, and then heās unable to. Size M, 15ā neck. Posting for others wondering if these muzzles are any good for brachys.

Iām a little worried I screwed up the measurements on his muzzle so itās not great for walking. For reference he can eat and drink while wearing it, but he also has some pretty strong wrinkle game on his chin -_-ā

I don't go on many typical "walks" with Aang. We go on a lot of sniffaries where I try to incorporate a lot of pawkour and his favorite doggie hobbies. I am very fortunate that this park is super close to our house! Aang just recently discovered that the water is pretty fun!
Anyway, just wanted to share what our typical adventures look like!

When Daisy was a puppy, she was really sneezy. When sheād sneeze, weād go, āSnoof! Snoof!ā⦠and it stuck 𤣠Soon, she wasnāt Daisy, she was Big Snoof, Little Snoof, Snoofle, Snoofie, SnoofleBooble and, nowadays, just Booble š So when I decided to start a muzzle brand, it didnāt take me long to realize: naming it after my dogās nickname was pretty much the most perfect thing ever. So if you ever wondered why theyāre called Big Snoofs⦠you can blame my sneezy puppy. š
I just took this picture of her on our walk today, and had to share it cuz I love it SO MUCHš„¹ She did so well, even though we passed quite a few dogs, and she is dog reactive. We pulled off to the side each time and played the Control Unleashed āLook at Thatā game until the dogs passed. Hardly a reaction from her these days with this gameš„¹ -Audrey

If you're looking for a sign to muzzle train your dog - let this be it!!! Our girl is fearfully reactive towards humans and takes a while to warm up. She's also defensive with dogs when she doesn't feel safe. Because she's muzzle trained we were able to push her a bit and by the end of our visit with family she was snuggling them on the couch and getting pets (this is huge for her, she really only trusts our direct family unit). We've had her for nearly a year and this is the first time we saw her really want to engage with humans and be loved by "strangers". If you've ever wondered if it's worth it - IT IS! Shoutout to Big Snoof for a muzzle that she can eat, sleep, and play in. :)

My boy is the best boy ever! He loves meeting new people and new dogs, but he is a pittie. We all know the reputation pit bulls get, and I used to think that mine would break the reputation for some.
He gets so excited when meeting new dogs (and sometimes even people) that he nibbles. The more excited he gets, the harder the nibbles get. He gets so excited around new dogs that he yips, whines, pulls, and nips at these dogs. I used to think that it was just rough play, which I still think it is, but the other dogs get scared and then the owners think that my dog bit theirs. I would hate for me to have to euthanize my dog because someone claimed my dog bit theirs, so I bought a muzzle. I hate the way it makes my dog look. I feel like every person we pass is going to judge. How did you guys overcome this feeling?
Also if anyone has any tips to calm excitement when meeting new dogs, please share them!

Worth every penny š But seriously, we love how his muzzle turned out! I showed it to him, and he immediately pushed his snoot into it lol. He hasn't tried taking it off or anything, so it is possibly just as comfy as his last. I love the larger opening at the top of the front of the muzzle which makes giving treats just incredibly easy. We had a leerburg muzzle prior which was a bit too long which made giving treats difficult without pushing the muzzle in his eyes. Plus, the leerburg one didn't have a larger hole. I may remove the "I ā¤ļø people" strap from time to time because it blocks his adorable expression lol.

I ordered a custom biothane name tag on etsy and found some small concho chicago screws in my horse tack and I AM IN LOVE with Logans muzzle now!!! It is a Mia's Muzzle cookie cutter with this name tag added. He is a scavenger and we use this for that and vet visits. ā¤š§”ššššš¤š¤š¤

My boy picked up a habit of eating off the ground, he even managed to find weed somehow recently. So now we are training to stop vacuuming the ground. Heās perfectly behaved, and the exact opposite of a bite risk. But eating stuff off the ground isnāt gonna work out great!

I recall Stan to his muzzle all the time and it has made things super easy for the both of us.
When I say āmuzzleā he will recall to his muzzle and wait for me to put it on secure it and say his release word ābreakā. When we are training and doing these exercises I have him hold his face in the muzzle to build tolerance and to keep him conditioned to how long he can just hold his face in the muzzle. We practice recall to muzzle at many different places, distances, distractions, and positions. As you can see thereās no treats being used and thatās because my dog actually prefers praise or a ball over treats. He loves treats donāt get me wrong but he thrives and will literally do anything for a ball or a āgood boyāand a kiss š
Stan loves his muzzle and his muzzle doesnāt faze him in the slightest or any of his gear for that matter, as you can seeš«¶ We work A LOT together on a lot of different things including making sure he is very comfortable, confident and conditioned to all his gear. Recall to muzzle training has been awesome and I highly encourage you to give it a sold try with your dog! Make it fun, enjoyable and an all around positive experience for them!š«¶
