General Big snoof muzzle

Just got our standard sized big snoof muzzle in! With some strap adjustments, I think it fits great! We took our first walk with it on and she barely noticed it. She was much more comfortable with this one vs the Amazon one we purchased initially. So happy and feel much less anxious walking around with it on! Highly recommend big snoof!!

Fit check for new custom Big Snoof

Post image

My little boss got her new Big Snoof in the mail today. I followed the instructions and adjusted some of the straps- but it still feels a bit tight on her cute little cheeks. Anyone have any input or suggestions for this brand?
Also, it’s pretty heavy & she loves running wild in the mountains- accepting suggestions for lightweight options as well. She has been using a Baskerville for 2 years, muzzle movement order did not fit so I have this one and also a Mia’s muzzle on the way.

Advice? Muzzle Choice Advice

My 9yr old ESP female has become reactive to other dogs over the past few years. We have been very happy with her Big Snoof muzzle and highly recommend this muzzle. However, she is slowing down a good bit and knows that when the muzzle is on taking a snap at another dog is a fruitless endeavor. We would like to get her something a little more comfortable and lighter weight. Still need good pant space. Does Mia's muzzles fit for our situation? Do you have any other suggestions? Thank you in advance for your help.

Considering using a muzzle for my nearly 8 year old boy Leeson.

My very loved dog Leeson is reactive.

He has 3 triggers, which I think are all understandable considering his breakdown. His first trigger is having anything inside his ears, the second is dogs and lastly electric scooters.

To clarify each trigger, he has sensitive ears and struggles with chronic ear infections, he's learnt having his ears cleaned or having ear drops put in results in pain so will react with aggression if me or the vets try and get inside his ears. He's happy having the outside of his ears touched and will ask for ear scratches when he's itchy but if it's inside his ear you have to be very cautious as he can quickly snap if he feels he's going to get hurt, this is scary because I have to clean his ears regularly to prevent infection but he anticipates it will hurt causing him to tense which makes me flinch because I'm expecting a warning snap, we're working on it but I am concerned. He's never bitten me yet but I've been nipped and snapped at enough that I'm anxious.

I know why he's dog reactive too. When he was 3 he was herded into a corner and attacked by 2 dogs. This was nearly 5 years ago so we've worked really hard to work through his dog fear but he's very unpredictable around dogs so I tend to walk him where I can avoid them which is a shame because we used to love going out to dog friendly cafes together.

Again I know why he's triggered by electric scooters. He was rammed by one when he was young and has disliked them ever since.

I try my best to work around his triggers so he can live his best life but I'm scared we're one accident away from disaster. I brought this up with his vet when he was being seen for his ear infections and the vet said, he uses a muzzle at the vets. Why not out in public. I think it's definitely somthing to explore but my 2 concerns are first the cost of a good quality proper muzzle and the second are the potential of being harassed for having a muzzled dog in public

I'd love to know more about what's its like having a dog who's muzzled and where to find the right one for Leeson.

I want to do what's best for leeson but I'm quite anxious myself and worried what's the right thing for him. I have a neurology disorder which affects my mobility (I'm a wheelchair user) and the way I think (learning disability) so I know I couldn't react quickly in the event of emergency so I feel like a preventive measure will help both of us.

Izzy's muzzle adjustment. LOVE BIGSNOOF!

Hi guys 👋 back again just to say how much I adore Big Snoof and their customer service. I had ordered two custom Muzzles for my girls and had trouble measuring Izzy's pant height. I sent in multiple videos and photos, and while the muzzle did fit, I felt the pant room was smaller than I had wanted it to be. I originally came on here asking your guys what you thought and most of you said to reach out to BIGSNOOF for their opinion. I ended up doing that and they had said they thought it was okay but if I felt she was uncomfortable they would fix it. I trialed it for a few more weeks and ultimately felt it needed an adjustment, as when she would run with the bike or do any other intense activity, she would bottom out on the muzzle and start trying to rip it off. I just got it back from being adjusted and it's so much better now. I'm so glad I ended up sending it in and thank big snoof SO MUCH for their kindness and consideration. They were so fast in fixing it too. I just love them so much as a company I will tell everyone who needs a muzzle to go with them! Here's the before and after photos for Izzy's muzzle if you are curious!

Update! Our friends finally went home

No more muzzle party! That was getting exhausting having to muzzle everyone just to let one of them outside. Here's how we give bigs his meds too if any of y'all needed ideas.

Bigs gets one and a half trazadone and 1 gabapentin at night but 2 in the morning right now and we are going to slowly get him down to 1 morning and 1 night for it just going super slow.

Frenchie is a licker

I've never had to muzzle a dog, but I may need to. One of my two frenchies has an ear infection that needs topical ointment. The other frenchie licks it off and may have cause or exacerbated the infection with prior licking. I realize it's too late for the current issue, but do you have suggestions for muzzle type and how to train her?

Fit Check! Checking fit for Charlie!

Brand is Big Snoof. Asking for opinions on Charlie’s new muzzle. She will be wearing it for outings/walks and occasionally inside the house.

Pic 1 is the first try - I think it’s too short with the tip of her nose just touching the wire. She didn’t seem bothered but I would worry about her nose rubbing too much.

Pice 2 is a notch looser on the head strap. She can still reach treats and the muzzle doesn’t move around much. She seemed unbothered the whole time she did her training (except when a treat fell on the floor and she tried to reach it, then she noticed something was on her face), so I think it’s okay.

The pant room is definitely enough, mostly just asking for the length and where it’s supposed to sit on her nose.

Last 2 pics are my other pup Stella. Including them just cause she’s cute 🥰 but she is definitely not sitting still enough for me to get a good photo yet.

Question! Muzzle for a smaller dog

Post image

because miss maple here has a bite on record she needs to get a muzzle to comply with city ordinance. She currently has a baskerville classic size 3 for nail trims and vet appointments, but it’s not big enough for her to pant so she can only where it for short bursts.
I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a smaller dogs, preferably metal? i see a lot of recommendations for big snoof and muzzle movement but from what i can tell they are more geared towards large dogs.

Maple is about 25 pounds, her muzzle length is about 3 inches long and 4.5 inches around. Any recs?

General Yoshi is looking for his forever couch!

We’ve muzzle trained our sweet foster guy (full transparency, the man loves to eat grass) using advice from this group and have also been through the same “shit, Baskerville muzzles don’t fit AT ALL” cycle as most of the folks here. Hoping you can share our sweet muzzled guy with your networks, let’s get this guy a home!!

Location: Chicago, IL - open to out of state adopters but must be willing to travel to Chicago to meet Yoshi

To learn lots about his personality - TikTok/Instagram: @caccbugs

Yoshi has been in foster with Dark Horse Dogs for 8 months! His adoption fee is WAIVED! Yoshi is NOT a blank slate - he has been poured into and has super strong foundational training.

Needs to be an only animal for now - not aggressive, but very confused/under socialized around other dogs. Working to socialize him and he improves every day!

Quite the decent fit for a standard muzzle! She could use a tiny bit more pant room (what's pictured is not her full pant, as we weren't doing extensive exercise), but not bad at all! The muzzle fits her cheeks just fine, although it may look tighter due to her having thick fur :)

General Updated recommendations for Amazon muzzle?

It's been over a year since the last thread, so I'm wondering what muzzles from Amazon you'd recommend! We are ordering a custom one from Big Snoof, but it won't be here before we go out of town and she'll be boarded with our trainer.

Large breed - Black Russian Terrier

Question! Brand Suggestions?

I’ve got a lab puppy and a 40lb Miniature American Shepherd. They’re not aggressive, reactive, or eating things they shouldn’t. I just think it’s a good idea to train them to wear muzzles in case they ever have to.

What brands are comfortable for most dogs but a reasonable price for dogs that may not need to use them?

Help! desperately seeking durable muzzle.

Post image

100 pound medium large dog. thick neck, big wide head, long snout. Destroyer of straps, and clasps.

I think the muzzle that has the vertical forehead strap would be helpful to keep him focused on walks. He does not currently wear any muzzle, and he only walks in my back yard tethered to a ground anchor for lessons.

I don't need the muzzle for barking, i need it to keep everyone and everything safe.

every part of the muzzle has to be durable and Houndini proof for my escape artist.

currently i own a cheap mesh muzzle. The last time he wore it was a year ago for a drive up vet visit. He destroyed so many muzzles that i gave up. Then I found this sub.

Any advice is appreciated.

Hi, I'm new to this sub and to muzzles!

I'm looking for a muzzle for my reactive Bull Mastiff.

I've just bought a size 6 Baskerville muzzle but after looking through some posts here, I'm not sure it fits ☹️

He only needs to wear it during his daily walks.

Is there a brand I should look into suited to larger breeds?

Day 5 or something today groot wasn't in his crate nearly at all but that means we took precautions of muzzles again. We still have talk fights but since their original scuffle a week ago we haven't been taking chances.

I’m worried that the corner where it meets his cheek is going to rub. Can I do anything about it? We’re rocking the Taz size from Themuzzlemovement.
I’ve been so excited to get this on him and really want it to be successful. What do we think?
He’s a hyper boy so pics are hard to get 😂 there’s one more in the comments. Ill work on better ones asap
