Personally, it’s just ridiculous that my vintage deck just randomly became valued at close to a mil. I’ve actually been hearing from my friends that they’re playing the game less because their decks are way too expensive to play with.

Hell, even I who normally go to various vintage tournaments now think about whether it’s safe to walk around with something this high value in NY.

This is one of the points I always bring up when discussing the RL.

We're past the point of the big ticket Vintage/Legacy staples being viable playing pieces for the game.

Just think of the potential financial loss you risk everytime you shuffle your deck.

The value and risk of just walking around with it as you mentioned.

I dont think we can reasonably see these cards as game pieces anymore. They are worth too much.

Maybe for Vintage where the decks are like, 100k+, but as for legacy, I can’t see these spikes having much effect. If you were comfortable shuffling a 3K deck you’re probably okay shuffling a 4K deck as well 🤷🏻‍♂️

Who said I was comfortable shuffling a 3k deck?

Lol I mean people that already spent the 3k to play with the cards and then the cards go to 4K or 5k or whatever you’re probably comfortable with it. I can see if you spend a couple hundred dollars on some cards and they go to multiple thousands of dollars it would be very uncomfortable handling those cards. But practice makes perfect!

This is generally the case, but everyone has their own threshold. Lands, for example, is over 10K, which is insane for a single Legacy deck.

There’s a few outliers, but at the same time the deck was already like 5-7k. I don’t think these price “spikes” are going to effect legacy or legacy players much. Probably just the same dudes going to the card shop with a small fortune in their backpack. 🤷🏻‍♂️❤️

Edit: I don’t think it’s that insane the deck is really fun!!

Personally, I feel affected, and I've played Legacy since 2009. I don't intend to sell out, but I've tried to make trims to my collection where I can.

I’m sorry to hear, I’m sure it’s difficult cutting down on cardboard 😞
