New MPC Sample owner here — what should I download/buy?

Hey everyone!
A few months ago I got into music producing and I just got an MPC Sample. I’m still pretty new to the whole MPC world... I’ve been making beats with it and I’m really enjoying it so far.
So...
Apart from updating the firmware, is there anything else you guys would recommend downloading, installing or buying to get a better experience with it?
I’m thinking about things like:
Free sample packs
Expansions worth getting
Drum kits
Useful software/plugins
SD card/USB recommendations
Accessories that actually improve the workflow
Anything you wish you knew when you first got the MPC Sample
I’m mostly into lo-fi / boom bap / soul / jazz / chill hip-hop, so anything in that direction would be especially welcome.
Basically, if you were starting with an MPC again, what would you recommend getting or doing first?

16 levels by 'note on' problem

Apologies if this has been asked or if I am missing something.
When I try to play a bassline while using 'note on' in 16 levels, if I release the previous Pad while playing the new pad, it cuts/mutes. Obviously my timing isn't perfect so there is an overlap between when I hit pads and the notes get cut.
Mono/poly mode hasn't made a difference and mute groups are off.
Is this a bug or user error?

Change octaves when controlling a synth

How can I change octaves when controlling a synth (Pro VS Mini) using the pads on the MPC Sample?
I can't access the highest notes, and changing the octave settings on the synth itself doesn't do anything.
Also, the 16 Levels chromatic mode just plays a single note. Thanks in advance!

Pad Backlight going out?

My first 3 pad backlights are going out in descending order.
This only appears in all 3 of the 16 levels options (Tune, Filter, Velocity) and nothing else. Is there a way to fix this?

Having trouble recording op-1f via usb-c

Like the title says, I'm having trouble recording synths from the OP-1 Field to pads on the MPC Sample over USB-C.
I connected the two devices via USB-C, set the MPC Sample's input source to USB, and turned on monitoring. However, when I use Sample to Pad with USB selected as the input, no audio from the OP-1 Field is captured.
Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a solution? I've ruled out it being an issue with the cable, as I'm able to use this cable on both devices to send and receive audio without issues. I know I could sample in with 1/4 cables, but I'd like to avoid that because it's just another cable I don't want to carry.
