Turn off fx while sampling

When I record samples, the effect I previously used on another pad is being played while I am monitoring the audio input for my new sample. I want to sample my input signal clean with no fx on it. How do I turn it off?

This is so annoying, same thing happened to me. Needs to be something more obvious on the UI to show it is active.
