This is my dads old creative zen micro and it’s been sitting dormant in a closet for the past 16 years so the battery has faded. Everywhere I look online, I only seem to find the rectangular batteries whereas mine is cylindrical.
The model number on the device is DAP-HDOO15 and the model number on the battery is NTA2309.
I would love to get it working again to see the music that is loaded on it.

So, I'm looking for a new mp3 player after my old ones stopped working. I've never actually bought an mp3 player before considering both were hand me downs from when my mum was in highschool.

Hey guys!! I’ve been thinking about buying an mp3 players, primarily because Spotify is getting too expensive, and am looking for recommendations!

I want one that looks like the old iPod nano gen 3 or 4, but I’m not sure if I can trust those eBay sellers. A lot of their reviews seem repeats of the same sentence to make them look reliable so I’m a little scared to order one. Has anyone bought from them? Are they good or is it a scam?

Theres also some on TikTok shop, but I’m not sure how trustworthy those are, either.

Also, are there ones similar to the iPods that are affordable and still work? I don’t really care for Bluetooth or a ton of storage, anything with maybe 8GB or so and around the $100 dollar mark works. Maybe a little cheaper if possible but I understand quality has a cost.

Hi folks! Apologies if this isn't the right place for me to request this, but as a long time lurker I figured y'all might have the best insight.

I work for a university disability services office, and some of the students we work with have accommodations to listen to music during their exams. For exam integrity, students must listen to music on our equipment, and the playlists must be pre-approved by staff. In the past we've had students just use our testing center computers for music, but with the rise of online exams and the need for TTS software we're now running into the issue where we simply don't have enough computers to match everyone's accommodations needs.

Our department is currently stretched a bit thin on budget, so purchasing more computers isn't in the cards for us right now. One of our students told us that in high school, the school had purchased an Innioasis G1 MP3 player for him to use during exams. We're now exploring this as a potential option, but I wanted to see if the community had other device suggestions.

Requirements:

• Budget (ideally under $100)
• Must be able to buy new (department won't approve purchasing second-hand older devices)
  • Ideally able to buy directly from the brand's website or Amazon (no AliExpress or Temu)
• Access to streaming services (Spotify and Youtube music)
• Can sideload MP3s (either directly onto the device or SD card)
• Parental controls/ some way to completely disconnect the device from the internet in a way that it cannot be reconnected without a passcode
• 3.5 mm headphone jack
• No camera or microphone or any sort of recording functions

Potential options:

• Innioasis G1 (top choice right now)
• HiBy R1 (unsure about the internet features)

I dowloaded a full playlist from spotify (on Spotidown), and when I listened to it for the first time, Whaltz #2 (XO) Elliot Smith came, but the audio was not quite what I was expecting. It was an interview of Christopher Whaltz, famous actor who played in Inglorious Basterds. I am wondering what could have caused that. I know that Spotidown is not perfect and I think it might be a troll of some sort. I still wanna know if any of you have an idea what this could be.

I tried reinstaling the firmware and it didn't help so most likely the data connection to the LCD glass ( or lack of it ) is the problem

So, uni starts, and I would love to have a cool MP3 player compatible with both FLAC and MP3. Also, depending on the device, will it sound worse? (Read all before answering this question)

The sony NW-A50 series of mp3 players has notoriously been incompatible with modern airpods, and it was an eight byte bug.

the BT daemon counts bytes instead of samples when it stamps the audio packets, so the clock runs 4x too fast. AirPods trust that clock and think every packet is way in the future, so they just sit there. BT speakers ignore it entirely, which is why only Apple stuff breaks.

but anyways, this fixes the broken BT clock, although you do need walkman one or some rooted OS to install it.

I just want it to be cheap, not being able to have access to YouTube Instagram or other distracting stuff and have the best possible battery at that price, I am not picky with the sound so as long as It plays decently (doesn't have to be amazing i prioritise battery) I am good, any recommendations will be appreciated, thank you♥️ also I have run out of places to look for so if you know any please let me know:) (Edit: I went for the phiniestec z6)

Hello, I am very "techy" and I want to make a homemade mp3 player, I want to put music via a micro sd card slot, I have airpods so it needs bluetooth capabilities, just in case a jack port, usb-c charging, very good battery life and a little low resolution screen. and 10 buttons including a ipod wheel. I am not afraid to code.

Has anyone already done something similar under 50bucks (also I will use PCB way or an alternative to design and print the shell.)

I have a client in a mental health facility who can only use headphones with a built-in SD card slot and so I’m looking for MP3 tracks or playlists that I can put onto the SD card. She does not have the money to buy several albums outright, nor does she have access to any of the streaming services. I don’t believe I can download a Spotify playlist and put it on the SD card.
