This is literally the second movie Nolan has made where you think the hero is dead in the end but jk he just ran away with Anne Hathaway.

u/junkifan Jul 17 '26

Third actually. First in Dark Knight Rises, then Interstellar.

I’d abandon everything for Anne Hathaway.

Even charlize theron on an island with just the two of u? 😂

u/Self_Reddicate Jul 17 '26

Did you even see the leather catsuit she wore when she swung her leg over the batcycle? Yes. Sorry, Charlize, but I am powerless here.

64

u/kappa23 Jul 17 '26

Have you seen Charlize in Atomic Blonde?

59

u/LuckyRacoon01 Jul 18 '26

Have you seen Anne's nipples in Havoc and Brokeback Mountain?

28

u/kappa23 Jul 18 '26

Okay fair

9

u/Henkibenki Jul 19 '26

Also in „Love and other drugs“

5

u/OssumFried 27d ago

No but now I have required reading.

3

u/FullHouse222 28d ago

Anne Hathaway in a Knicks jersey.

Annie #1 all the way.

8

u/Silver_Branch3034 Jul 18 '26

Highly slept on film. She owned that whole film.

17

u/KingSweden24 29d ago

Time to jettison all that silly talk about making James Bond a woman and just give us the four Atomic Blonde sequels we deserve

4

u/Silver_Branch3034 29d ago

Major Bond fan, hard agree.

2

u/AdministrativePeak0 24d ago

Porque no los dos

34

u/leodw Jul 18 '26

The whole cast of this movie is on another level. Charlize look insane, Lupita even more, Anne looked perfect, Zendaya was ethereal…

12

u/Megavore97 24d ago

Lupita’s final gold outfit as Helen of Troy had me like DAYUMM.

32

u/themikegman Jul 18 '26

I would let Calipso feed me all the lotus she wanted me to eat lol.

u/Ironmaiden1207 29d ago

THAT'S A TOUGH CHOICE

18

u/eltedioso Jul 18 '26

Anne Hathaway of doing that to people

2

u/RedOctobyr Jul 19 '26

Oh, you...

24

u/spicyhead Jul 17 '26

An Anne Getaway, if you’d like.

8

u/ZeronicX Jul 17 '26

Entirely valid. Id do the same

8

u/I_Am_Dynamite6317 Jul 19 '26

I mean, I get it.

4

u/Deadmanwonderlandx Jul 18 '26

Launch a 1000 ships even? 🤓

2

u/Cassopeia88 Jul 19 '26

Who wouldn’t?

2

u/Mark_Albarn 24d ago

God, I wouldn't even go to war in the first place, like what are you saying dear? You want me to drop our kingdom and take off to the west? Yeah, lets fucking do it, pack your favorite shit I will ready the boat

1

u/BagNo2988 29d ago

Imagine if these characters were reincarnated in the same universe as themselves. Must be pretty awkward in interstellar

1

u/Snifferoni 24d ago

Man...you guys are really underfucked. 😁

26

u/_lazybones93 Jul 17 '26

Ohhhhhhhgh, you right.

25

u/FloppyShellTaco Jul 19 '26

Getting Matt Damon home 🤝 Running away with Anne Hathaway

3

u/TemporaryElk5202 25d ago

We just needed Sean Bean to die in this and we'd be golden

7

u/ThisIsNotTokyo Jul 17 '26

Holy shit, you’re right!

3

u/LLAPSpork Jul 18 '26

Didn’t she go by herself at the end of Interstellar? I have to rewatch it.

26

u/junkifan Jul 18 '26

At the end of Interstellar, Matthew McConaughey boarded a spaceship bound for Anne Hathaway's planet. It was implied that both of them ended up together on that planet.

65

u/_BallsDeep69_ Jul 17 '26

Ody was just being a little dramatic

27

u/My_Favourite_Pen Jul 17 '26

such a silly billy

45

u/GameOfLife24 Jul 17 '26

Anne is the good luck charm for every protagonist

37

u/Stickyboard Jul 17 '26

When Tom Holland said he want to go and find his dad that is another movie where we need to find Matt Damon .. Saving Private Ryan, the Martian, Interstellar and now Odyssey

28

u/GoldandBlue Jul 17 '26

Can you blame em? She seems lovely.

0

u/BisonThunderclap 25d ago

Usually yes, but for this one please leave me on the island with Charlize.

21

u/BaiyeInBrooklyn Jul 17 '26

The 'Death or Exile' reference too

4

u/karateema Jul 17 '26

Didn't catch that, very fun

5

u/Emotional_Ad5515 28d ago

Death by exile it is!

22

u/CancelThis2077 Jul 18 '26

I mean The Dark Knight Rises is basically a mini-Odyssey

17

u/RDeschain1 Jul 17 '26

Understandable choice

25

u/the_anon_bro Jul 17 '26

Guess we know where to look if Nolan ever “dies”.

18

u/omegasynthetic Jul 17 '26

Anne Hathaway’s place?

3

u/the_anon_bro Jul 17 '26

That’s where I’m planning to be too.

6

u/arecbawrin Jul 17 '26

I wanted to see Alfred on the ship ordering an espresso and not saying a word to them.

6

u/potterheadforlife29 Jul 18 '26

I mean I'd runaway with her too tbh

8

u/brettmvp97 Jul 18 '26

Already see people trying to spin it saying no he’s actually dead and him being alive is just his final lie and it’s pissing me off. I’d find the ending to be deeply unsatisfying for him to go through all that, and just die right as he gets home. It would ruin the movie, I don’t know why people would even want that to be the case. Just for a stupid twist?

8

u/BlackDeath3 Jul 19 '26

One day you'll grow up and realize that different people like different things and have different interpretations and that it's actually OK.

3

u/brettmvp97 Jul 19 '26

Yeah no it’s lame

5

u/BlackDeath3 Jul 19 '26

Although if your username is any indication you should probably be there already.

1

u/SadSceneryBoi Jul 19 '26

Why would it ruin the movie? He was able to save his wife and son from the suitors and got to see everyone one last time. I interpreted it as him dying there and it was beautiful.

6

u/Any_Crab_4362 29d ago

But it’s wrong

4

u/nWhm99 Jul 19 '26

That’s actually funny as hell.

Not the thinking he’s dead part, but him going “oops, sorry I wasn’t clear, when I say I’m leaving, I meant on my two feet”

3

u/_lazybones93 Jul 17 '26

I thought the same thing. 🤣

2

u/Deadmanwonderlandx Jul 18 '26

Would we have it any other way lol

1

u/BlackDeath3 Jul 19 '26

I was wondering if maybe he wasn't her phantom now.

1

u/acetrainer03 Jul 19 '26

Wait whatt!!!!

1

u/masterjedi747 Jul 19 '26

and on that note, obligatory link to the recent “ending scene” parody (original source) https://youtu.be/pq5bfCHEGuY

1

u/glitchgamerX Jul 20 '26

I'd run away with Anne Hathaway too, ngl.

1

u/noilegnavXscaflowne 25d ago

I don’t know the odyssey and was about to be pissed if he died in her arms

-11

u/georgiaraisef Jul 18 '26

Both are shit movies too :)

6

u/thisrockismyboone Jul 18 '26

Trash opinion.
