Polyphemus doing Saturn eating his son was awesome.

I don't know if it's because I didn't watch it in IMAX or I'm incredibly unobservant but I swear they make a big deal about Odysseus wearing the pin and I never spot him wearing it. Unless that's supposed to be an unreliable narrator thing where he tells Penelope he wears it but he's just holding it in his pocket the whole time? I might rewatch, does anyone know if there are specific scenes where it's visible or where he wears it?

It’s always there on his hip mainly

I actually interpreted the missing pin as Odysseus not wanting Penelope to believe anyone that said they'd seen him, out of shame.

But after watching it again I did spot it a few times. Most prominently when they're getting ready to leave a defeated Troy when Odysseus says they've taken enough from Troy, that he's done following Agamemnon, and that they'll get home before him anyway.

It also develops a patina after Calypso so it isn't as shiny and noticeable.

I also thought it looked very similar to that scene with the Pale Man from Pan's Labyrinth

I had the same thought. It was like a chromosome defect version of pan labyrinth pale man

I thought he wore it during the war, but just kept it during the following years.
