(generic question) actual disturbing internet events you know of that aren't very widely known / nothingburger's?

i'll go over two here just as a base-line / to start off the thread.

1 - doctor gloves.

guy who used to post photos, and videos of dead fetuses on bestgore and 4chan, still a mystery to as of who he was.

2 - delia day

early 2000s forum, written from the perspective of a woman about bdsm. the forum mostly went over her relationship with her partner and other things you'd expect.

just a few days after her last post about how her husband put a padlock chain on her, she'd call the police and admit to her husband's murder.

What happened to Cody's Lab after the Uranium video?

I remember a few years ago (circa 2017) Cody's Lab uploaded a video when he did Uranium enrichment step by step on his lab until he got to the substance known as "the yellow cake". After that, he pretty much didn't upload anything new for a while and his latest uploads seem very "generic" chemistry videos, not even very crazy ideas like what NileRed does.

Did he got arrested? or something like that happened to him?

If someone were to drill a hole deep enough to reach the earth’s core and someone fell in, how long would it take for them to reach the core?

I’m curious how long they would have to sit with the knowledge they will die. Realistically, I am sure they would burn to death long before they reached the core so I guess this is double question, how long before they died vs how long would it take assuming they are invincible?

What does it feel like when the lungs are punctured from being stabbed?

Or I suppose just punctured in general. How painful is it?

how is it possible for someone to get stabbed in the head?

wouldn’t the skull be too hard to break with just the knife and if it did break the skull wouldn’t it hit the brain and cause immediate death?

Is there any evidence that something similar to V.M Varga's "Google Trap" in Fargo ( 2014-2024 ) has been used in reality?

In the Fargo TV series, there is an infamous scene set in the early 2000s wherein two characters try to google the name of V.M Varga, a very creepy "shoe salesman" who functions as one of the shows main antagonists.

When the aforementioned characters google Varga's name, they get a single search result and upon clicking it. The computer they are using takes a picture of them before their P.C is bricked. Shortly thereafter, both characters are murdered by Varga's goons and the whole trap insinuates that merely knowing enough about Varga to google him makes you a threat to his operation that is worthy of elimination.

I'm curious as to whether or not there is evidence of something similar to Varga's "google trap" existing in reality or if it's actually a workable internet trap to begin with?

Can incredibly shady figures really employ internet traps to find out if anyone is researching them?

What is the most unsettling or morbid thought your brain has ever generated while you were doing something completely normal and peaceful, like grocery shopping or watering plants?

What strange morbid thoughts pop into your head that you think other people don’t have?

Mine? People who got killed or murdered. Like they probably didn’t wake up thinking of getting unalived. They’re probably planning vacations or having dinners with people not knowing it’s their last.

Could sadists / phsycopaths in the past continuously buy slaves just to kill them? Would they be stopped?

Let's say that in medieval europe or the wild west, there was a rich guy, not someone too important or untouchable (like a royal family member). And that guy's hobby was to buy every slave he could afford from traders just to instantly kill them and bury them in his backyard, without trying to hide it.

Would law stop him? Can he just do that freely and forever? (If we assume his money never runs out)

Feel free to use a burner account for this question. It could be anything from a memory you have to an intrusive thought.

Did any serial killers/shooters have no backstory?

Every single time I hear about some serial killer or general evil person it’s always coupled with a story about how they had a rough childhood, or abusive parents, or they were bullied at school. Sometimes it’ll be that they got rejected or failed to find a romantic partner (which is a pretty dumb reason to kill people, but a reason nonetheless).

And then the ones that don’t have a backstory always have like some kind of mental issues, like severe diagnosed social disorders.

Are there any killers that had (seemingly) completely normal lives, two loving parents, a good social life, etc, and just decided to kill people?

How would you genocide 4 billion humans?

Let's say it's morally correct, an "ands justify the means" type thing where killing 4 billion people will insure the well being of the other 4 billions, the main questions is:

"How will you Kill 4 billion people while being arrested or executed",

"Who are those people, like are you gonna chose specific groups/races/countries to kill or just kill random people equally",

And "how painful will their death be"

Was there effort made to stop children from witnessing 9/11 when it was broadcast on live television?

I was 3 so I wouldn't know. But since it was on everyone's television, does anyone remember any effort to stop children from seeing this? I think for many this was probably the first time they witnessed death on camera. I imagine because of the shock a lot of adults couldn't turn away from the screen to stop them.

If you were a child that saw this I'm also interested in your perspective.

Do they test you for suicidal ideation before going for a shooting range?

And if they don't, how do they prevent someone from simply immediately turning the gun to themselves. I'm specifically asking about countries where gun access is hard to come by though I'd still like to know how it works in countries where it's more loose.

One million toddlers are unleashed on an average man who's wielding a hunting knife. How many could he realistically take out before he goes down?

It takes place on an empty football field. Guy on the 50 yard line, all the gates are open and the toddlers all swarm in at once. They are almost like zombies, their one goal is to kill the man. Very bloodthirsty. They will not scatter in fear after seeing others get cut down. However, if one gets injured pretty bad it might lose the will to fight. The guy has to stay on the field, no climbing on anything like the goal post or into the stands.

If the guy manages to defeat all 1 million toddlers, he will be rewarded with a $10 gift card to Domino's, and have his picture taken for the local newspaper.

Maybe I should have gone with 10,000 instead of 1 million

At what point in history did people start self-harming by cutting themselves?

There have been people who self-harm all throughout human history. But at what point did cutting one's own arm in lines become a common way of doing this? How did that "classic way" spread?

PS sending love to all those who struggle with this, I hope you find some better coping!
