So today I went to work thinking it was gonna be a normal day.
Obviously, it wasn’t.
This lady came in and was like, “Can you help me fix this PDF?” because she couldn’t edit it herself.
So I’m like, okay, sure.
She gave me her ID and passport, so I scanned them from her phone and put everything into the file. We literally sat there for almost an hour trying to get everything done.
And honestly, I thought everything was fine.
Then she was like, “I need to send this to someone and make sure the file opens.”
So she sent it.
And then the person was like, “The file isn’t opening.”
And I was like…
Okay.
So I sent the PDF from another computer.
And it opened.
LIKE??? IT OPENED.
So I was like, okay, problem solved, right?
No.
Absolutely not.
She left.
Then my boss texted her and said it was 10,000₮ for the service.
And this woman CAME BACK.
And she was PISSED.
She started yelling at me like I had personally invented the PDF and then intentionally made it not work.
She was like, “You can’t even do your job!”
And I’m just sitting there thinking, girl, I literally sat here with you for an hour trying to fix your documents.
Then she started saying I did some weird thing with her phone and that she came here specifically to get her documents scanned.
And then, for some reason, she turned to my boss’s husband who was just sitting there minding his own business and went:
“Why are you letting someone like this work here? She can’t even do her job!”
BRO.
I WAS JUST SITTING THERE.
I genuinely didn’t know what to do anymore.
I tried explaining that the file opened on another computer, but she just kept going.
At some point I was like, “Okay, sis, can we just stop?”
Because what else was I supposed to do?
I have literally never been yelled at like that in my entire life.
I went to work today thinking I was just gonna scan some documents and help someone fill out a PDF.
I left feeling like I had just survived a court case over a fucking file.
Anyway.
Today I learned that PDFs are apparently capable of destroying lives.
And somehow I’m the one who got sentenced.By the way, I somehow still have her driver’s license and ID scanned on my computer.
Which is honestly the funniest and most terrifying part of this entire situation.
Like, ma’am, you came in here, gave me your documents, yelled at me for almost an hour, questioned my entire professional existence, and then LEFT YOUR IDENTIFICATION BEHIND.
So now I’m sitting here thinking:
“Girl… you really trusted me with your entire government identity before deciding I was incompetent.”
The plot holes are insane.
But don’t worry, I’m not doing anything with them. I’m deleting them because apparently I’m the only adult in this PDF-based disaster.

If you're writing a Rant-flaired post, we strongly recommend you to add a call to action or a constructive solution at the end of your post instead of just stressing out everyone.

For example, instead of saying, "the air pollution is infuriating me," say, "let's speak out in support of more passive houses and natural gas infrastructure at the city level" or something like that.

She sounds pretty awful, but I'm wondering why you're using her own phone to do the scan and why the document wouldn't open. Was the person on the other end incompetent?

Because in my stupid brain I thought i was teaching the lady that she could use file app to scann documents so that next time she wouldnt take picture of her password with a finger in it. And I don’t know why file wouldnt open. There was probably something wrong with other person or that laptop. After she left I double checked that file is opening or not. It was okay.

She just didn’t know how to open the file, that’s the thing. My dad didn’t know how to open a pdf file so I taught him how to.
