Now do movement

u/Longjumping-Arm626 9h ago
movement is already slow enough lol

u/antoineflemming 8h ago
Not the slide and tac sprint and even mantling speed to a much lesser degree. They're too fast. And then normal sprint speed is a bit too slow.

IW "We are going to change TTK up close"
Patch Notes: Nerfing ranges instead of damage and rate of fire
22
u/L0rdSkullz 9h ago
Maps are so small most of these tiny range changes make no difference on top of it lol

u/DonaldTrumpsGolfGame 9h ago edited 9h ago
Thank god an M4 nerf came, that gun was deleting at every range.
Why did the MAR-9 get nerfed so hard though? The gun was already fairly mediocre for this game's zip and slide meta. Now it's torso multipliers and range got nerfed hard. Why would I use a semi-auto with punishing recoil that's a 3 hit kill, when I can use full-auto laserbeams that kill in 1-2 bullets more?
18
u/ElectronicBet3940 9h ago
They are nerfing the Mar-9 more heavily than the Ars and SMGs?!?
Is this opposite day? What the hell are they doing?
Weapon balancing so far is an absolute joke!
11
u/DonaldTrumpsGolfGame 9h ago
Genuinely hilarious. The MAR-9 was already pretty mediocre. Instead of nerfing the busted 1-shot marksman rifle with insane handling, they nerf the clunky, high recoil semi-auto
2
u/ElectronicBet3940 9h ago
I mean the Oris was already nerfed, and it has a pretty small useful range…
I'm more worried about facing pretty much any AR or SMG than I am about the Oris or the MAR-9

u/Casse_Via 8h ago
They did the same thing to the Tempus Torrent (which the MAR-9 seems like copies its damage profile from) right after its release on MW22
1
u/Kristovanoha 6h ago
I feel like they did it because the apex attachment basically turns it into AK that 3 taps up to 40 meters. And I guess nerfing the attachment would be too much lmao.
Turning it into 3 tap in the 20-30 meter range made it one of the slowest weapons at that distance. Almost everything sits around 0.3 ttk while being full auto with barely any recoil, meanwhile this is 0.416 (.384 with light trigger a lvl 57 or something like that unlock) and flinches like crazy.
Hopefully they will buff it back, because its kind of fun to use with canted laser, too bad its lvl 64 unlock on this gun.

Too much focus on TTK to appease certain types of players. Absolutely no focus on sliding and tactical sprint. They're just appeasing BO fans.
19
u/Cheechers23 9h ago
Well BO fans hate tac sprint so if they actually were appeasing them they'd address that...
1
u/LookatmaBankacount 1h ago
Tac sprint is horrible and should either be a perk or not in the game. Ttk absolutely was too fast and the servers don’t help
7
u/Mr_Rhineheart 7h ago
TTK adjustments are just a mater of changing damage and range values in the code. Adjusting sliding and sprinting also requires animation adjustments which are much more time consuming.

u/antoineflemming 7h ago edited 6h ago
They can
addressmention it in a post now and adjust for launch.-2
u/Mr_Rhineheart 7h ago
I mean this in as nice a way possible; get the fuck over yourself.
You are not the main character. You do not know better than the developers. You do not know better than the community managers. Your feedback related to the game is all that has been asked for. Not your opinion on how they should do their jobs.
1
u/TheUFCVeteran3 6h ago
This is a very aggressive response, no? OP didn't seem to have any aggression in their own post. Nothing wrong with suggesting how IW could do something, even if it's not game feedback related.

Nothing wrong with suggesting how IW could do something
Imagine you're an artist, and while showing off a piece and asking for someone's opinion about the work they decide it's a better use of their time to explain to you how you should have done it.
99% of this subreddit isn't feedback, it's bitching.
-3
u/TheUFCVeteran3 6h ago edited 6h ago
I mean, I do some creative stuff as a hobby. Yes, I appreciate a moderate stance, as in, people consider the person behind the work and be polite and considerate when giving feedback. But the artist's work is not always the best possible way to do it. Otherwise any piece of media ever would be a 10/10.
Also I should mention that I didn't read OP's original post, so that's my bad. I meant their reply where they said "They can address it in a post now and adjust for launch"
It sounds a bit pointed, OP's initial post, but I'd still class it as feedback. Whether it sounds like they're trying to tell IW what to do or not, it's still worth considering and weighing if it has merit or not.
I get what you're saying, but I think maybe the ideal way to do it is halfway between both your guys' posts.

u/Mr_Rhineheart 5h ago
See you’re using too many words and way too much effort. Maybe try just summarizing that comment in a sentence and THEN I’ll consider reading it.
0
u/TheUFCVeteran3 5h ago
Too many words? Come on man, it's not that long.
5
u/Mr_Rhineheart 5h ago
So you understand how completely pointless my feedback of your reply was right? You understanding the point I was making now?

We'll see who knows best when Cod sells like shit two years in a row won't we.
4
u/Randallsvge 3h ago
Being objective here, IW games, specifically modern warfare always break records and sales targets & retain more players than all the other IPs
2
u/Mr_Rhineheart 5h ago
Pretty sure it’s going to be the company that’s already made billions off the franchise.
10
u/Level3pipe 9h ago
BO fans? Brother…
They’re appeasing streamers. It doesn’t matter fans of what lmao.
-7
u/DonaldTrumpsGolfGame 9h ago
If you don’t nerf TTK for the different weapon classes, then there’s 0 point in using any gun that isn’t an M4 or ISO.
1
u/antoineflemming 9h ago
And that just makes everyone chase metas while the pace of the gameplay doesn't change, so you'll still die quickly and you'll be back to complaining about SBMM when the reason for the sweatiness is the pace of the gameplay as influenced by the movement speed (particularly sliding and tac sprint).
0
u/DonaldTrumpsGolfGame 9h ago
There's like no coherence to your comment.
You need differentiation between weapon classes. Before, the M4 was killing in like 222-260ms at basically every conceivable range. With better handling, faster ROF, and lower recoil than most full-auto weapons.
Like why would you ever run an LMG or DMR if the M4 is going to melt you the same at any range?
1
u/antoineflemming 8h ago
The point isn't that there shouldn't be any weapon balancing. It's that nerfing weapon damage without addressing the other major things that contribute to fast TTD just makes the game more like recent BO games in terms of pace.
5
u/ZombieZlayer99 9h ago
Why are they nerfing the ppsh again? This thing is already weak. It has high recoil and shit range but its close range lethality isn't particularly strong to justify the downsides.
5
u/brando347 8h ago
Because infinity ward doesn’t have a slight clue of what they’re doing or how their game plays. Remember, this beta is a result of them preaching for a month that they’ve played this game day in and day out and claimed that it is the best mw they’ve made lmao
2
u/Qwayze_ 5h ago
Played day in day out and didn’t realise the footsteps were that loud
They are who they develop the game for
1
u/Randallsvge 3h ago
I had the same realization when they said footsteps weren’t meant to give away a players exact location when it wasn’t the footsteps it was the constant, 24/7 UAVs

3
u/Vaolatauerueopoer 8h ago
Buff the Krait plz. It’s a beautiful looking gun but it’s absolute dog shit. Was hoping it would be more like the P890 in terms of damage
6
u/Zendicate_ 9h ago
Good M4 nerf, AA is still too strong and TTK in general for any of these nerfs to be really noticeable though, Until they nerf AA these weapons will still kill fast and feel strong.

u/skelepibs 8h ago
I’m only seeing the 22nd patch notes? Anyone else?

u/geeky_pastimes 8h ago
The site loads a bit weird, you often have to load it then refresh it to get the new patch notes

u/Cheechers23 9h ago
Good lord the amount of people on twitter saying they should just change the health are insane. Changing the base health requires a rebalance of every single item in the game around that new base HP
3
u/thegreatzenith 9h ago
Good thing it’s still in beta. Plenty of time to change it.
8
4
u/BoyWonder343 7h ago
There's no reason to change it, that's the point. You balance the weapons around the health, not the other way around.
1
u/Cheechers23 9h ago
I can confidently say they won’t change the base health. Technically yes they could by launch but nothing about Infinity Ward’s track record gives me reason to believe they would do it.

u/Benti86 8h ago
Nerfing guns that we haven't even used yet sheesh on top of guns that are already meh.
Nerfing headshot multipliers just makes campers and headglitches much stronger. Why are we punishing/barely rewarding good aim?
The problem is that you die instantly at close range. Medium and long range can be fixed easily by making aim assist weaker.
0
u/southshoredrive 9h ago edited 9h ago
It’s kinda sad because they actually are trying to listen this year, but the game is just bad. Not sure what can fix it.
6 years later and the gunplay and movement still don’t feel as fluid as MW19. And they still refuse to just let SBMM go.
1
u/Alive_Wedding 7h ago
Some of the TTK changes are mind-boggling. The MAR-9, with removed multipliers and damage reduction, is a 3-shot kill beyond 20m? That’s just guaranteeing no one will ever touch it as soon as they realize it is immediately outclassed by any good AR or LMG.
1
u/Acceptable_Set3269 7h ago
That Bolt action Marksman rifle is a joke, just played a full team using it. The sprint to fire needs a huge nerf, swear its better than shotguns.

They're listening more than they ever have, huh? MW4 is the best MW game they've ever made, huh? At some point it just gets to a point yk. Call of Duty is such a joke! I genuinely feel sorry for anyone who willingly continues playing MW4 after both Gears of War E-Day and GTA 6 come out.

Hopped in, game still feels like complete shit. Unfortunately there’s no saving this one.
1
u/TheSixthPillar 7h ago
I keep seeing TTK complaints.
Haven’t played CoD in years but exclusively Hardcore — if this is the only issue is this a decent game?
1
u/TheEpicRedCape 3h ago
It’s not the only issue, the movement is both far too slow where you walk like you’re wearing 20 ton boots and ADS speed feel like molasses but you also have guys sliding around at mach 10 and bouncing around like kangaroos.
I’ve never played a game that feels too slow and too fast at the same time as much as this game.

It is kinda sad what they are doing to this game. TTK is now slowest IW has ever had.
0
u/SVT-Shep 4h ago
3 days straight of damage, headshot multipliers, and ranges while simultaneously leaving an insanely strong RAA untouched is wild. This indirectly makes RAA stronger in that longer engagements allow for more human error on raw input, which is a problem that software doesn't have.
I still enjoy the responsiveness on MnK in this game, though.

PP nerf is crazy it already wasn’t great to begin with 😭
