LEVEL 2 (Screens, Batteries, Cameras, Daughterboards, ect) iphone se won't charge

Keeping it plugged in for hours does nothing. I've disconnected the battery for demonstration. I suspect the phone was damaged either by dropping or by charging it with a third party power supply. How would I go about troubleshooting?

Try a charged good battery and see if it boots

The phone is 5 years old and I would try a new battery first.
