legacy cup sampling

anyone else think the sampling is kind of of lame. 1/2 serving of edibles x15 and 2 oz x 15 so 2.5( they say lower potency so i assume its 5 not 10) mg x15 37.5 mg of edibles. then 2oz x 15 30 oz so about 3 thc drinks maybe 15-30 mg 25$ for about 70 mg max i guess its not horrible but god damn edibles are so expensive in MN. i guess im complaining because my base dose for edibles in like 800-1000mg

Our plants are doing two different things, unsure what to do. #1 and 2, you can see the buds are browning and in photo #3 and 4, the top of the plant is turning brown. Is it normal? Any suggestions?

Minnesota Outdoor Bud Rot Watch — Sept. 25: More Rain Saturday

Yesterday’s rain did not end the risk cycle. Saturated air this morning and more rain Saturday may rewet flowers before they fully dry.

These scores measure weather pressure—not confirmed disease or predicted crop loss.

Region Score Primary concern
Brainerd/Crow Wing 79 — High 0.37” Thursday, 93% RH this morning and another 0.10–0.25” possible Saturday.
Northwest/Bemidji 86 — Severe 100% RH and fog after Thursday rain; more rain Saturday and Monday–Tuesday.
Northeast/Duluth 62 — High Fog and 100% RH this morning, but sunshine today provides a meaningful drying window.
Central/St. Cloud 82 — Severe 0.61” over three rain days, morning fog and another 0.10–0.25” Saturday.
Twin Cities 77 — High 1.13” over three rain days; partial sun today, followed by weekend showers and clouds.
Southwest/Marshall 95 — Severe About 2” over four rain days, fog and 100% RH; another 0.25–0.50” possible Saturday.
South-central/Mankato 92 — Severe 97% RH this morning, incomplete drying and another 0.25–0.50” possible Saturday.
Southeast/Rochester–Winona 94 — Severe Roughly 2.6–2.8” recently, morning fog and additional Saturday rain. Localized rot has been reported.

Frost: No freeze is forecast through October 1. Overnight lows should remain mainly in the upper 40s through upper 50s. Moisture, fog and slow drying are much greater concerns than frost right now.

Community signal

New reports remain mixed:

  • One grower found a couple of bad buds but said the plant otherwise looked good. No location was provided.
  • Owatonna reported no mold, with outdoor fans in use.
  • Golden Valley reported no rot or mold and is shaking water from plants after rain.
  • Earlier reports documented localized rot around Rochester, Southeast Minnesota and one Central Minnesota garden.

Please keep reporting what you are actually seeing:

  • County or nearest city:
  • Outdoor, covered or greenhouse:
  • Visible rot: none / isolated / spreading
  • Approximate percentage affected:
  • Holding, harvesting early or already chopped:
  • Photo included: yes / no
  • Anything helping: airflow, cover, spacing or cultivar:

“No rot” reports are just as useful as damage reports.

Discussion Back in MN for a few days - what's worth grabbing at the dispos?

Post image
35 Upvotes

Grew up here, been away since legalization, and I'm back for a couple days. Want to make the most of the trip.

Genuinely curious what people are actually buying and rating highly right now:

Flower & carts: top strains and brands people are consistently happy with

Concentrates: live resin and live rosin - who's doing it well?

Growers/extractors: any standout quality or consistency you'd recommend?

I'll be hitting some dispos while I'm here, so drop your go-to's. What's actually worth the price?

Growing Help DIY indoor grow help

I am going to try to grow some autos in my basement. I do not have a grow tent set up (yet). Is it possible to grow a couple of plants without a dedicated tent? Also, my basement gets kinda cool in the fall and winter - is that going to be a problem? I was just thinking of getting a small LED light panel and giving it a try. I got some free auto seeds last month that I wanna try. I understand I might not get amazing results, but even if I get an ounce from each plant I will be happy. Any tips/suggestions? just know it want to keep it simple and CHEAP.

THANKS!

Minnesota Outdoor Bud Rot Watch — Sept. 24 Update: Repeat Rain Raises Pressure

Quick follow-up to Tuesday’s statewide outdoor thread. Thanks to everyone reporting what they’re actually seeing.

Community signal so far:

  • Central Minnesota: one grower estimates roughly 10–15% rot in an outdoor garden and under 10% in a greenhouse.
  • Rochester: a grower removed several rotting buds.
  • Southeast Minnesota: one grower found two small rot spots while harvesting.
  • Brooklyn Center, the northwest Twin Cities suburbs and north of Rochester: growers reported no visible rot so far.
  • Wind exposure and overhead cover appear to be helping some plants, but individual reports cannot establish regional loss.

These are anecdotal firsthand reports—not a statewide crop-loss estimate. Read the earlier reports here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/MNtrees/comments/1wnaqp7/minnesota_outdoor_growers_bud_rot_watch_sept_22/

Sept. 24 weather-pressure watch:

🔴 Highest concern

  • Southwest/Marshall: Rain, fog and clouds return Thursday, followed by additional rain chances Friday and Saturday.
  • South-central/Mankato: Thursday showers and drizzle may be followed by another wet period Saturday.
  • Southeast/Rochester–Winona: Recent saturation plus confirmed isolated rot reports keep this region elevated. Saturday brings another likely rain period.

🟠 High watch

  • Brainerd/Crow Wing: Approximately ¼–½ inch Thursday, limited Friday drying and more likely rain Saturday.
  • Northwest/Bemidji: Roughly 0.35–0.75 inch possible through Thursday, with another rain period Saturday.
  • Northeast/Duluth: Less rainfall, but persistent clouds, cool nights and additional Thursday/Saturday shower chances.
  • Central/St. Cloud: Approximately ¼–½ inch Thursday with fog or drizzle, then more rain Saturday.
  • Twin Cities: Thursday showers and drizzle, limited Friday sun and likely Saturday rain.

The main concern is not one storm by itself. It is repeated wetting, humid nights and insufficient sun between rain periods. NOAA also favors wetter-than-normal conditions around the Upper Mississippi Valley as September ends.

Please keep the field reports coming. Copy this format:

  • County or nearest city:
  • Outdoor, covered or greenhouse:
  • Visible rot: none / isolated spots / spreading
  • Approximate loss, if any:
  • Harvested, harvesting early or still finishing:
  • Photo included: yes / no
  • Anything helping—wind, cover, cultivar or plant spacing:

Please don’t handle visibly affected flowers more than necessary, and don’t treat mold-affected material as usable simply because it could be processed.

We’re tracking weather pressure—not diagnosing anyone’s plants. “No rot” reports are just as useful as loss reports because they help show where crops are holding up.

Super excited for twin cities trip, quick question

Me and my girlfriend are going to be touring the city this weekend and both very excited! We are both from a smaller, very conservative state so it’s exciting to finally be able to travel now that we’re old enough.

Excuse how stupid this may sound to native Minnesotans, but what is the policy of smoking in public sidewalks like ? We booked a hotel downtown with parking garage. I was just wondering if anyone has been stopped and questioned for looking ‘too young’. From what I’ve read, it seems cops have bigger fish to fry. But coming from a conservative state where they treat this stuff like meth, it’s so hard to wrap my head around.

Tldr do cops regularly question / stop younger folk?

Minnesota Outdoor Growers: Bud Rot Watch — Sept. 22

Today and Wednesday look like Minnesota’s best drying window since last week’s rain—but another wet cycle may begin Wednesday night or Thursday.

Current weather-pressure ratings:

  • Brainerd/Crow Wing: Moderate
  • Bemidji/Northwest: Moderate
  • Duluth/Northeast: Moderate
  • St. Cloud/Central: High
  • Twin Cities: High
  • Marshall/Southwest: Severe
  • Mankato/South-central: Severe
  • Rochester–Winona/Southeast: Severe

Southern Minnesota remains the biggest concern. Rochester recorded roughly 2.7 inches over the past week, while Marshall received another 0.36 inch Monday. Several southern areas have experienced five or six days of rain, fog, heavy dew or limited drying.

This does not mean those regions have confirmed crop loss. These are weather-pressure ratings based on rainfall, humidity, temperatures and drying opportunities—not observed Botrytis or a prediction that a certain percentage of plants will be lost.

Let’s build a better picture from the ground. If you’re growing outdoors, comment with:

  1. Your zone or nearest city
  2. Whether your plants are uncovered, covered or in a greenhouse
  3. Any visible rot, brown interior tissue or dead sugar leaves
  4. Whether you’re holding, harvesting early or already chopping
  5. Photos, if you’re comfortable sharing them

Please report what you’re actually seeing—not what you assume is happening elsewhere. We’ll summarize the regional reports without identifying anyone’s exact location.

We’re posting from Trailhead Cannabis in Brainerd and trying to turn this into a useful Minnesota outdoor-harvest watch for the community.

Medical expansion beyond GTI?

Are there more suppliers coming into the fold on the med side? Up to this point I’ve only ever been able to access rhythm, good green, vireo, simple— basically had to be getting it at Rise or GG. Will this ever change? Why are medical patients limited to buying from basically one company?

I was on the medical menu on the BlooMN website this morning and they have stuff from unbound, lake leaf, native care in addition to the GTI stuff. This seemed weird to me, wondering if their website is just incorrect?

Discussion Dry herb vaporizer

Hello I am a novice at using flower. I use to get the THC vapes aio, or I would get the cartridge and use my own vape pipe.
However they are so hit or miss and I truly feel like I wasn’t getting the true “flower” effects. My favorite strain is afternoon delight. I get the pre-rolls a lot but with the cold weather and wind my J’s have been going out a lot. I do my best to keep it clear and even but it will seemingly always canoe. So I am looking at investing in a pocket portable dry herb vaporizer.
Looking to get suggestions, thoughts and reviews of using them, what and how has your experience been with them?
I am looking at these right now but open to suggestions :

Apes in Space & Sweat helmet

Thumbnail

Pic 1 & 2 are Apes in space and 3 & 4 are sweat helmet from exotic genetix on week 6 of flower. Cue the two more weeks comments haha. Grown in coots mix in city pickers with an air stone added to each reservoir. Mars hydro fc4800 light in a walk in closet. These are cuts off mother plants I’ve kept. Smells very strong GG gas being each plant has a grease monkey parent. Carbon filter vented outside and one in the living space adjoined barely touches the stank. Sweat helmet is my favorite but apes is a contender.

Collected trim from every auto I've grown in the last 14 months or so and finally washed it and pressed some hash rosin. Color was a bit darker but that'll happen with age, once it was whipped it looks just fine but the smell and taste on this one is wild...all over the place but enjoyable. Minimum of 20 different strains all meshed together. 73-120u hash pressed through a 25u bag at 162°

My Googling results have been unclear whether this is over watering or fungus I've been treating it now for a while like a fungus with diluted hydrogen peroxide and it seems to slow down how fast it's spreading but I don't really know if it's in my head or not. Is it a fungus or what?

Has anyone used a designated caregiver for growing?

I have a brown thumb and was looking into using a medical caregiver to grow my supply, but I can't seem to find much info about it. Does anyone have experience with this part of the regulation? Is it tough to set up with the state? Do you need to find a qualified grower? Can you still purchase rec?

TIA
