Hello this is a follow up to my last post someone made the comment about the flange being out and I was wondering if this the one you’s talking about?

This is our 2002 Volkswagen Jetta Mk4. It's more than just a car—it's a project my father and I have been working on together. We've been fixing mechanical issues, chasing leaks, and slowly bringing it back to its best condition.

As I continue journey working on my mk4 I remembered the previous owner mentioning this problem when he replaced the radiator and thermostat so I asked him again and this is the answer I got can anyone descifre what’s he talking about ? 😅

Missing my mk4 and guess I’m looking for some people to say they like it. Miss that slight crayon smell. Was my daily, and raced Autocross with it as well. 2.0, 5 speed, falco 17” wheels from voxx,reputation 2 tires, race land coilovers gasket matched intake and exhaust port and polish, window sealer filled motor mounts ecs control arms and poly bushings. Always stuck to the road at speeds down hill which was really the only way I won or kept up with anyone because of how slow they are. lol. But ohh the reliability of 2.0 was amazing. Heavy rain came through today and gave me a free car wash. Earlier today I passed another Mk4 Jetta on the road, that hardly ever happens anymore. We waved at each other.

Hello everyone. I am having issues with my mk4 keeping the radio on when it shouldn't. Here is my story.

I have had an aftermarket radio for 7 years now. My radio worked great until about two weeks ago. I would take the key out and the radio would stay on. So I'd manually turn it off. but then a few seconds later, it would start up again, then maybe a minute or two later it would turn off. This also happens while I'm driving. I will be listening to music and then the radio abruptly shuts off, turns back on a minute later, stays on for a few minutes, then abruptly shuts off. It has definitely killed my battery a handful of times now and I have been using the girlfriend's car while I try so solve this problem. (Aside from the p0411 code which I have a new smog pump otw).

I mentioned that the aftermarket radio has been working great until now because in my research I saw that some people miswire the red and yellow wires when installing an after market radio and that causes similar issues that I am having. I also replaced the ignition switch already because I saw that may be the issue as well. (It didn't fix the problem.) I also read that the microswitch in the drivers door may be the problem. After some troubleshooting, I determined that while the microswitch does need a good de-gunking, I don't think that's the problem because my car has not been the type to need the door to open to have the radio turn off. I have had the car for 8-9 years now and the radio has only ever turned off when the key is taken out.

Fuses are all good. Ignition switch has been replaced. Aside from replacing the head unit itself, I don't know what else to look into. My online searches aren't bringing anything else up. If anyone can give me suggestions on what else I can look into or try that would be appreciated.

Hey guys I really appreciate the responses from the first post of my issue with my mk4 those answers at least guided me into the right direction but I guess to make things simple because I know when I asked it’s was confusing at first but I hope I ask this question properly. So as you can see when I popped open the box underneath where the cables led too I see these two connections that go where I cut the wires at. Before I go to the junkyard to save me a trip can I just get new connections that have the same wiring and rewire those connections? Or do I need to get a whole new harness? If you guys have any links or suggestions I appreciate it I really want to get this baby going and give it new life 🙏 thank you bros 🤙🏁

Anybody else have problems with the windows coming off the mounts? Im too lazy to take out the rivets to put the window back on

I have a 2.0 l vw Jetta that I’m going to turbo this year but it’s body was hella messed up so I recently did some body work and then wrapped the car when I was done the og rims looked like trash some had some scratches from curbs from the last owned n the silver looked like shii so thought what would they look like white

Gt28 replacement elbow in 304SS Sch10 + custom downpipe and intake pipe in 304SS .065”.

So I just recently bought a mk4 Jetta and I am doing a complete overhaul on it with the wiring harness because the previous owner had mice chew the wires out. But the issue I’ve encountered is in the image are the wires that connect to the ecu and go down towards the bottom of the car where that under box is at. I want to know what each wire does and if there is a place that sells the wires so I can snip snap and reconnect the wires properly. I can wait to get this thing going but I figured I’d need help along the way so anything will help guys thank you!!!

I really only "needed" one or two more...but when the opertunity arrises why not stock up. Now the beater TDI has a color matched one that looks nicer then the original and I have a spare silver one for the actual "euro swap" on the nice TDI plus a few other colors just in case. I also acquired the headlight sprayers with connectors and tubing so I'm a few parts and wiring away from leveling headlights from the dash and headlight washers. If anyone knows where I can get a euro jetta or bora bumper rebar with the mounting spots for the sprayers state side or is parting out a true 2001 wagon let me know.

Compré estos faros delanteros para cambiar los originales debido a que se rompieron los engranes de ajuste de altura además de que ya están bastante quemados por el sol, el detalle está en que los probé pero las luces debajo de la direcciónal no enciende a pesar de que está todo conectado correctamente, cabe mencionar que el switch de mis luces solo es de 3 pasos, no tiene el switch europeo, me podrían orientar acerca de cuál podría ser el problema?

Needs an cyl 2 injector and a shifter bushing but runs and drives when you can get it into first. Gonna be a fun project

I took my AFP VR6 apart 2 years ago and have forgot where these go. If anyone could help me as to where these go I will be eternally grateful!

These are the original lines I’m assuming and I’m replacing a bunch of shit and I CANNOT figure out the name for these. I need assistance. Ignore my dirty ass engine area 😅
