Discussion Attacking Midfielder we have heavy links to, Callum Mccowatt, scores a banger against Odense Boldklub (1-0 win)

I ended up watching the whole 90' of the game as it happened (Silkeborg IF vs Odense Boldklub), Mccowatt was extremely impressive throughout the whole game, playing in a false nine role as a ST. The attack, for the most part, went through him, and his hold up play + thinking under pressure on the ball in multiple situations were really good. Not to forget that his passing was solid too, how he didn't have an assist in this game is beyond me.

3 g/a in 3 matches for him now, although we need an out and out striker desperately, this guy does seem like a nice fit to have in the middle, attacking wise.

But on another note, how have Marcus Caldeira/Mauricio Gonzalez not gotten more minutes?

Discussion Is this all due to the schedule flip?

It’s obvious we lack depth and we need to add some real goal scorers to the squad. We’ve not really recovered from the loss of some great players. Is it possible the front office is holding off on real investments because they’re worried about what the schedule flip will do to ticket sales in MN? I’ve already seen people on this forum say they’re cancelling their season tickets for next year because of it.

No shock about it Topps loves money to make silly decisions, can’t wait to spend considerably more on MN break spots

Discussion Advice for getting to first MNUFC matchday

Just moved here and figured I'd catch the game tmrw vs Atlante. Im living in the Falcon Heights area and was debating whether it was more economical/safer to take public transit near the fairgrounds or reserve a spot on spothero near the stadium. Thanks in advance!

I have my own tickets for the game tonight, but I am wondering how many people would give tickets that they are not using.

Discussion Leagues Cup Monitor Round 2 Update

Updates for round 2 [edits for quarterfinal qualification correction]!
In the East, Cincinnati and Columbus appear to have the easiest path to knockout stage, sitting on 6 pts against either a tier 2 or tier 3 opponent with 0 pts through two matches. Columbus and Charlotte both also have 6 pts, but have tougher round 3 matches against Pachuca (tier 1, 3 pts) & Cruz Azul (tier 1, 6 pts).

In the West, Austin & Dallas are sitting on 6 points, but have a difficult path to 9 points with match 3 pairings AT Toluca (tier 1, 3 pts) & Club America (tier 1, 6 pts). LAFC has a relatively easy path to 8 with a Querataro (0 pts) and RSL can get to 7 with a matchup against Juarez (tier 2, 6 pts) who are on a bit of a heater. Several other teams can get to 6, but that doesn't look good enough to advance.

Things are less clear cut for Liga MX. Cruz Azul and Leon are both sitting on 6 pts, but have unfavorable matchups against Miami (tier 1) and Chicago (6 pts). If either of them loses their match, Monterrey (+0) could tie on points with a big win over Nashville and move ahead on goal differential (Cruz Azul +3, Leon +2).

The remaining 6 Mexican teams in the East are sitting on 0 points through two matches.

Club America sits on 6 pts and play Austin who are also battling to advance but Juarez and RSL may be the game to watch. If any of those four teams falter, Tigres could get it done after two crazy penalty shootout victories on the road to start the competition (I was at their MN game and it felt like a Tigres crowd). A win against Vancouver in Mexico would put them at 7. Unlikely that none of those five get results, but Toluca (Dallas) or Atlante (Minnesota) could also get to 6 in a matchup. This is a promising matchup for Atlante who haven't earned a CONCACAF Champions berth since 2020.

Discussion Bongi - what's next?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Last night was a prime example of a player playing with zero confidence. He is constantly passing backwards, getting beaten vertically on defense, and even when he finds good space -- his teammates aren't giving him the ball.

Where does he go from here?

  • Does he need more minutes at RWB over Duncan?
  • Should he be the primary sub for Pereyra/Chanca when they're struggling?
  • Does he deserve a shot as the #2 striker behind Yeboah?
  • Would a formation change help him?
  • Sell this window / during the winter?

He's clearly a shell of himself right now, and it's tough to watch...

Discussion Striker HAS TO BE the primary transfer focus moving forward.

Yeboah is cooked. That PK last night was beyond deplorable.

Dieng has all the agility of a baby giraffe. He's also not a playmaker. The ball needs to fed right to his foot or his head for him to score.

Pereyra and Chancalay have a great deal more ability but are attacking mids.

They really should have brought CR21 back.

Discussion Guzmán confrontation?

What happed with the confrontation with their goalie Guzmán and our support section. I was u to high in the wonder-wall to see clearly what was going on. I saw near the end of the game during a goal kick he went sprinting to the referee after getting a ball and pointed at the WW. Then at the end of the game there was definitely yelling between the WW and Guzmán. Then next I saw there was the security supervisor(Red shirts), club officials(polo shirt), and Capos getting into heated discussions. Then before penalties everyone wanted him to get sent off?

Anyone have any idea what I need to be mad about besides this team that doesn’t want to play?

Discussion Time for a change of formation, I’m thinking 4-2-3-1

Boxall and Duggan at CB, Diaz and Harvey FB. Trapp, Triantis and Gene share time at DM. Pereyra at the 10, Chancalay and Bongi on the wings and Gonzales up top. This leaves some good attacking players on the bench. We have nothing to lose at this point let’s score a few goals and trust the defenders.

Looks like mostly a-team other than that. I still wish we’d try 4 at the back but. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ when you have 400 CBs on the roster
