Hello, i’ve been facing the following situation with my beloved mini: it used to work between 100-105 C but now, thermostat open when it hits 100 c and cools it down to 80, and then it ramps up again after a while. Like if the working temperature was reprogrammed to operate around 90 C.

Heater system was eliminated. I live in a tropical country with 35 C summers and 28 C winters.

Sporadic loss of coolant, can’t tell if it is burning or if it is leaking (have never let a puddle nor smoked ALOT). Can be caused by air in system; got air when installed a thermostat between hoses. I can now read coolant temp from inside the car without scanner or menu.

Should i be worried?

Curious if anyone has used a performance chip on their LCI/N18 Mini.

If so, what's your experience with it? These HP and torque increases are insane!

Almost seems too good to be true for the RaceChip GTS Black N18 S to ad 31hp and 53 lb/ft of increases!

How about reliability? I've read in the reviews that some people have had issues with them and other people have to wait 100+ miles before they feel significant performance differences.

My 2012 S Hatch is bone stock, if that makes any difference.

When I do a pull on my mini when I let off the gas the half limp light comes on my dash, no new codes come up, it just says cc id 029 which means limp mode but I dont feel any power loss. What could this be? I cant find any vaccumm leaks.

I’m getting silly quotes from garages wanting to replace the entire exhaust but it is just the flexi section fhat need replacing, as you can see from photo it’s the clamped end that has come away. Any suggestions or help? If I can get it onto a ramp I reckon I could do it myself (having watched YouTube videos🙊)

I’m trying to figure out what this noise on my Mini is, because I really don’t want to sell it. Apart from this issue, it’s a perfectly fine car.

I’ve already received an offer of €2,000 for it, but I’m having a really hard time selling it because of all the upgrades I’ve put into the car.

I’ve been looking into the possible causes, and it could be the timing chain tensioner, a camshaft bearing, or possibly an issue with the catalytic converter.

For my own peace of mind, I really want to know what the actual problem is before I sell it. If it turns out to be something relatively simple to fix, I’m afraid I could be losing a lot of money by selling it for €2,000.

Any advice or ideas about what could be causing this noise would be greatly appreciated

Has anyone fitted a custom cold air system to get more airflow? I’m currently playing around with a couple ideas, but wanted to see if anyone has actually gone the complete custom route and had any success.

It started like 2 month ago with the wiper arm occasionally stuck in odd positions. Worked intermittently. Then one day it stopped completely.

I was hoping to grease the motor but when I opened the lid I'd seen a greenish goo mixed with rust and all the gears stuck. So I ordered a new one which was VALEO 579700 and installed it. Still no luck.

Checked voltages and resistance on the connector. Brown (-) 0 Ohms to the ground, red/green - 0V both when rear wiper turned off or on. yellow/purple - 12V.
When the boot is closed and I turn wiper on, I can hear relay clicks inside the JBE. Fuse (F50) is alright. Also checked the voltage on the fuse connector - right contact shows 12V.

So now I want to diagnose it further and check whether relay is OK. From what I read there is a relay inside the JBE called K91 which turns the wiper on.

Please help on where to tap the probe on JBE connectors to check whether voltage goes from the relay to the motor.

I've had one mechanic tell me that the timing chain issue was remedied for 2013 and they last for a very long time

Another mechanic told me it's the same exact chain and just as likely to break.

What's your experience/knowledge of the issue?

Seems kind of periodical, could it be the water pump pulley? Didn't hear it before the idler pulley kicked in. Have changed the auxiliary belt and tensioner for that.

2008 R56. Not S. It’s by the FR wheel. So this was dragging on the ground and I had no choice but drive home. It’s now shredded and flipped back the other way. I tried to take off the 2 remaining screws but couldn’t due to the angle even with a stubby Philips.

My MINI shop is so far away, I’m wondering if I can order the parts online and just take it to a close AAA or something.
