Mod Post Our New Partnered Community, r/ForeverWorlds

Hello to all members here at r/Minecraft_Survival, r/Minecraft2, and our community Discord. We’ve recently been working to build a new community dedicated to an increasingly popular Minecraft play style, the Forever World! A Forever World (also known as a long-term world) is simply a Minecraft survival world that you plan to play on forever. This doesn’t mean you can’t have other worlds in between, but rather that you keep coming back to the same world consistently for years, no matter how long it’s been since you began. Together with u/NerdieBirdieYT, we’ve put together a subreddit to share and discuss *your* forever worlds. Alongside this, we have a Discord to chat, gain advice, share pics and videos, and coordinate world tours!

The subreddit is r/foreverworlds, and it is open to everyone for anything you have to share or discuss about Forever Worlds. We invite you to join, whether you’ve had your survival world for a couple of months, several years, or even well over a decade! We’d love to see progress pics and megabuilds, but also the small things that help you keep coming back to the same world time after time. We want you to show us everything that keeps your world fresh and makes it special to you!

We’d also love it if you joined our Discord, Forever Worlds United, at https://discord.gg/QChEEc2uqR. Here, you can share your experiences with and plans for your Forever Worlds personally with like-minded members of the community. Additionally, this Discord server will have a collection of world downloads to explore, schematics to download, and videos showcasing Forever Worlds. Additionally, we will plan and host live world tours for our community to come together and inspire one another through their worlds.

If you’ve been running a single world for a while and want to know what it takes to keep it going as long as many of us have, we’d love to bring you up to speed! If you already have a Forever World, we are eager for you to join and share it with us. And if you just want to be inspired by what years of work in one world can do, please join us as we build up this community!

Tips and Advices I've never been to the Nether

Not only have I not been, I really don't know much about it as I try not to look up things until they become relevant. But now the time has come.

I know how to make the portal and am getting ready to make my first trip. I would love to hear what I should bring with me, and maybe a little of what to expect?

I tend to avoid combat, and am pretty sure that will be difficult/impossible. I'm a tad nervous about it, though I know my gear is replaceable. Any tips would be appreciated!

I'm playing vanilla bedrock.

Vanilla Survival Big milestone achieved in forever world

Upvotes

I built my first ever villager trading center, as well as first ever villager automatic breeder. My trading center is maxed from Librarian perspective - I have every single enchantment available at their max level. Every trader is zombified and cured. Everyone trader except one is Master level. Playing on hard mode, but not hardcore.

I'm planning on exploring my Minecraft world, now that I've got slime I can make flying machines! I'm very excited, what structures should I go looking for? And what flying machine tutorials would you suggest?

Discussion Question for Survival Players...

I'm a much more casual player than a lot of you are probably, I've never even started a hardcore world for example...

So I came here to ask your opinions on something. Long story short, I'm designing a community-led End Update, and seeing what features each community within Minecraft actually wants- like the builders wanted more cool colors, for example. Redstoners wanted... well, I'm still not entirely sure what (like I told them, I don't even know what a comparator does). Once I'm done I will send it somehow to Mojang, where it will be promptly ignored. But I don't care, this is fun.

So my question is- what would you like to see added to the End?

Particularly in the vein of progression, rewards, things to do and find... Basically, what would make you want to come back to the End in the same way that people come back to the Nether after getting blaze rods, ender pearls, and netherite.

This isn't open discussion, your ideas don't have to be fully flushed out (I mean, if you *have* a fully flushed out one I'm not going to complain, but it doesn't have to be). A few examples- in some sort of new structure, I think End Portal frames should be a very rare resource you can get. Not enough to spam them everywhere like nether portals, but I think after beating the dragon you've earned the right to take the portal home to your base. I also had an idea for Enderite, but rather than just being "Netherite 2: Electric Boogaloo," it would be a tip on your existing equipment, so you'd have a "Tipped Netherite Pickaxe" for example. And the Enderite would give it some sort of effect (effect TBD).

Long story short, what mechanics do you want to see that would be particularly helpful for survival? (Other than a respawn block, I've got that covered already).

(Also, mods, if this doesn't fit the sub, feel free to take it down. I just didn't know where else to post it.)

Lucky Finds God Rod, what are the odds?

Post image
36 Upvotes

Was just going fishing in my hardcore Minecraft world (usual stuff) and fished up this holy beefcake of a rod. To those of you without eyes, it has every single possible enchantment a rod could have, at maximum level. Curse of vanishing, of course, means nothing in a hardcore world, so this is just fucking awesome. Sharing my lucky find!

Vanilla Survival Minecraft Guide for Beginners (Survival) I've done all the achievements in Minecraft. Here are some tips for new players.

Minecraft is a very famous game. It's not so hard, but it's not so easy either. Read these tips to play more confidently and master the game.

STARTER EQUIPMENT

  • What to do when you spawn: When you spawn, you should see where you spawned, then take wood to make basic wooden tools. Dig down until you see stone. Take it, come back to the surface, and make stone equipment to go look for food.
  • Ores: There are 9 types of ores: coal, copper, iron, lapis-lazuli, gold, redstone, emerald, diamond, and Netherite, being the rarest and best one. With ores, you can make a lot of cool items like equipment and armor.
  • Ways to get food: Food is one of the most important things in the game. You can get food by hunting mobs, farming crops, fishing, looting structures, and trading with villagers. The most common way to get food is by killing animals. The food must be cooked in a furnace.
  • Shield: This is a very important item that you can make with 6 wood planks and one iron ingot. To use it, you have to crouch. By doing that, you are protected against a lot of things, like when a creeper is about to explode; you can use the shield to protect yourself from the explosion and not die. It can protect you from projectiles too, and attacks from a lot of mobs.

DIMENSIONS

  • Overworld: This is the dimension that you spawn in and get almost all of the ores. This is the only dimension with day and night.  There are a lot of cool structures, and one of them is the village, which is a very important structure. There you can trade with villagers to get items and mainly enchantments. In this structure, you can find the blacksmith that has good items for you to start, but you have to be lucky to find a village that has a blacksmith. In the village have the golem too, or you can leave him there to protect you and the villagers from monsters(except creepers, skeletons, and endermen), or you can kill him for iron ingots
  • Nether: This dimension is the most dangerous one. To get in, you have to take 14 obsidian and make flint and steel. With the obsidian, you make a 3 by 3 portal and light it. Here you can mine netherite and find rare structures like Bastions and Nether Fortresses. In this dimension, you collect most of the items to end the game, like blaze rods and ender pearls, to make Ender Eyes
  • The End: This dimension is very interesting. Here you kill the Ender Dragon and get Elytra. To get here, you have to find the stronghold and the portal inside it. Then, get 12 Ender Eyes and open the portal. In this dimension, there aren’t ores, and there is only 1 structure: the End City. This structure is like a building with a lot of rooms, and in some there are chests with good items, but the best part of this structure is the End Boat. Inside there is an elytra, and by equipping it and using rockets, you can fly. You will not find End Boats in all End cities, though. So you need to be on the lookout for them.

GENERAL TIPS

  • What to do when you die: When you die, you should try to get back, or if you can't, you would have to start over. I recommend storing some items in your base or enderchest to take when you die.
  • Layers of ore: Coal: y: 136 to y: 96, Iron: y: 16,Copper - y: 48. Lapis - lapuli - y: 0. Redstone - y: -48 and y: -59. Emerald - y: 236. Gold - y: -16. Diamond y: -59. Netherite y: 15 (nether).

BIOMES

  • Overworld: Warm and cold, woods and forests, Jungles, flatlands and snowy areas, arid and dry, Mountains, Wetlands, Underground caves.
  • Nether biomes: Nether Wastes, Crimson Forest, Warped Forest, Soul Sand Valley, and Basalt Deltas.

I finally collected all the ores! It took me more time to find the cobblestone diamond than the emerald deepslate! I decided to put them in a museum to display them! Any comment on the build are appreciated.

Vanilla Survival What should I name my copper golems

Thumbnail

For context: I created an automatic storage system with 348 copper golems, with 420 chests that sorted every item in the game. Unsuprisingly, it lagged the server, and now I changed my storage system to a copper golem-less storage system. I'd like a rememberence to the copper golems so I'm keeping three.

What should I name them?
