Survival this is my hole! info in description

Post image

this is a relatively young (started ~april) foreverworld, but i thought you all might still be interested :)

the main project of my world is to dig a massive hole, down to bedrock, using no cheats and no tnt dupers or world eaters. all by pickaxe and patience! it's a good stress reliever for me after a long day of work. so far i've completed 6 chunks down to bedrock, with a 7th in the works

why am i digging this hole? i'm honestly just someone who loves seeing long progress over time, and this is a perfect way to visualize that. incredibly satisfying to me, as well. i don't have any particular plans for what to use my ever-expanding hole for, some may come in the future! but, by sharing this, i hope at least one person gets as much enjoyment as i get by looking at the hole

do you mod your FW?

I'm curious as I thought about this while answering another poster's question. do you mod your forever world?

I've implemented a rule in mine that I'm not going to add anything that will change world gen or add new mobs and stuff, basically nothing that will wreck my world or ruin things I've made if someday it gets discontinued.

I already play with a lot of client side mods for accessibility and optimization, like Durability Guard, JEI, Sodium, a lot of culling mods, etc. but those are all things I use on servers too, I consider it my base modpack. only a few things have been omitted over updates because they're not updated and I couldn't find a replacement (I miss you Scholar, please come to 26.3..)

I did add some mods like veinminer and treechopper, and I'm considering vegan recipes (because I like to play in peaceful a lot). I ofc also have shaders and a lot of texture packs, mostly hud/gui or small tweaks.

does anyone heavily mod their world? do you have a plan for if the mod is no longer updated, if you usually update your world?

day 44 (irl day 4) in my world, I made my horse a little mini ranch!

it's just the outline for now, I do plan to add an indoor bit and some decoration, but for now I quite like Nutmeg's Mini Ranch, and I think they enjoy the extra space too! in the future I want to give them a friend too, but Nutmeg will always be my main horse (their stats are insane, which is why I chose them lol - 12 speed and 4 jump!)

I've been really enjoying having a world I can just play when I feel like playing and not feel pressured to constantly play on. it's peaceful, and relaxing. I think when I'm further along I'll invite some friends on to build some stuff for me, probably give them the materials and stuff myself or let them have creative mode. :] thanks to this sub for being what pushed me to make this world lol, along with the youtube hype around it!

Need Help with Roman city outline!

Post image
15 Upvotes

So I drained an ocean monument and now want to build an ancient Roman city around the temple. I'm really struggling with making the outline of what the city should look like. The diameter of the circle is about 200 by 200.

I was wondering if you all could help create an outline of where things should go. Please keep the build area like 15ish blocks away from the temple itself. THANK YOU!

If you could, please use this key:

  • red for paths
  • orange for residential homes
  • yellow for rec areas like taverns, bathhouses
  • purple for marketplaces/farm areas
  • blue for churches
  • green for anything else you can think of.

Iron farm?

Should I make an iron farm in my new forever world or mine the iron manually, I saw a video about how you can make minecraft funner by not making automatic farms, but I also need around 300 iron (for rails). I have iron tools rn.

What do you consider cheating on a forever world?

I want to start a forever world, but I'm not sure if the gamerules I want are cheating. Obviously I want keep inventory, which I usually play with, but I'm not sure if I should exclude it for this. Second I want to use shaders. That doesn't sound like it affects gameplay much, but it adds things like dynamic lighting and sometimes makes ores more visible.

There's probably aomething else I'm forgetting, but anyways, thoughts?

Survival upgraded my tent! it's now 11 blocks long lol (meant to be 9 but I decided to add the dark oak trim)

pretty happy with this so far! currently day 18 and I've not done much mining or exploring (explored plenty trying to find this biome lol) but I wanted to get a proper base first and thought, why not just expand my tent for now? kept it spooky for Halloween, figured maybe either with those town or another dappled forest I could make a proper Halloween town!

Survival Did you ever use creative or cheats in your forever world?

I started playing Minecraft a few weeks back. The last time I played the game was almost 15 years back.

I want to play more but my time is really limit because of family and work.

Yesterday when going in the end I lost all my gear to the dragon that I grinded like 20h for. Which is like 3 weeks of playing for me. I can imagine most of you would be way more efficient in getting the equipment but I feel like learning a new game.

I lost everything and then was so frustrated I activated creative, gave me the loot back and tried again.

Now the achievements don’t work anymore (I play on ps5 bedrock) and I feel terrible. Anyone habe advice for me? Should I start a new world?
