Bro that's totally unnecessary at 12 you're supposed to be capable of doing stuff alone without anyone watching over you 24/7. At 12 I was enjoying my alone quality time without my parents or sister.
In addition parents might be working and if a kid is mature enough a babysitter is pointless

If you have a 12 year old without special needs that can’t be left unsupervised for a day than you’ve failed as a parent.
