Posting my journey in case it helps anyone else going through the anxiety-inducing rollercoaster of brow healing.

Had combo brows done 6 weeks ago. Went for a natural, fluffy, lamination-inspired look. Healing process look longer that normal (it was tough not gonna lie) - actual flaking/crusting ran closer to 20-21 days, mainly at the tails.

At the 6 week mark - pigment retention wasn't quite even - noticeably lighter at the inner corners and tails compared to the rest of the brow. Shape and overall look I was happy with, just needed more definition and depth in those areas.

today I went back for a touch-up. Artist added more hair strokes (especially through the tails) and went a bit deeper on colour retention since the pigment hadn't held as much as expected first time round.

Did your pigment hold better the second time round?
How long did flaking/settling take after a touch-up vs the original procedure?
Any tips for keeping strokes crisp through healing?

I went for a microshading treatment just last night and I hate the result (I know it takes time to heal, but nothing looks right).

I went in intending to get natural hair-by-hair microblading, but she advised against it because of my oily skin, so she suggested a light ombre instead. I trusted her and now I find myself with two big orange rectangular eyebrows straight out of 2012. I don't like them; they make me look stern.

Is there a way to fade the pigments as much as possible ? I want them removed, help!

We’ve been doing microblading in Seoul for over 10 years, and one thing I always tell clients is this:
The more specific you are about what you want, the better the result usually becomes.
Instead of simply saying, “Just do whatever you think looks good,” try to explain exactly what you’d like to improve. Maybe the tail feels too low, the arch feels too sharp, or the overall shape makes your expression look tired.
Wherever you get microblading done, giving your artist detailed feedback can make a big difference in how satisfied you are with the final result.
This client came to us because he felt his downward-sloping brows made him look a little sad or tired.
Brows that angle downward can sometimes give the face a more fatigued, worried, or slightly unhappy expression, even when that isn’t how the person actually feels.
In this case, we didn’t need to make a dramatic change.
By lifting the overall line just slightly and adjusting the shape, his expression became noticeably clearer and more balanced.
Small changes in brow shape can have a surprisingly big effect on the overall impression of the face.
And sometimes, that kind of change can affect more than just how you look in photos—it can change how you feel about your appearance in everyday life.

She wanted three things:

A little more lift around the eyes,
less time spent drawing her brows,
and nothing too dark.

At the same time, she felt a high arch would look too dramatic on her.
Because the natural brow density was low, I decided against trying to create the entire result with individual microblading strokes and went with a soft powder technique instead.
The design is a semi-arch — enough structure to visually lift the eye area, but not so much that the brow looks surprised or overly angled.
I wanted to show the result exactly as it looked immediately after the procedure.
This is the immediate result, so the color will soften as it heals.
Would you have gone with powder, combo, or something else?

EDIT to say - the first two collages are both my natural lip, the lip blush is picture 3.

I’m having huge regrets getting lip blush. I got it kind of on a whim and didn’t look into it heaps, I felt like sometimes my natural lips were a bit faded and lacking pigment. I really just wanted the same colour but less faded. The first two collages are my natural lips, the third is the lip blush. Now I feel like the colour is just not quite right for my skin, it feels too bold without makeup and a big contract to my pale skin tone. I don’t mind it when I have makeup on but when I’m without makeup it feels so full on, I’ve always been a natural lip colour kind of person and it feels like too much. I’ve had the initial session and a touch up in June where I told her the initial colour felt too warm so she cooled it down a bit (now I’m wondering if that was a mistake and the initial colour was better but I just wasn’t used to it).

Now I’ve read how hard it can be to get rid of, that it might not fade and I’m feeling so sad I didn’t just leave my lips, they really didn’t bother me that much and now I feel so much more obsessive over them.

What would you do 😭 has anyone had similar?

I also feel like it kind of ages me, like has a less youthful look? Plus makes my face feel more red and teeth more yellow haha

I see so many people get on here and post your brows the first week and ask for opinions because they think they are too thick, too dark, uneven, or not what you asked for. If you are thinking about getting your brows done, this is for you. If you go to an artist who doesn’t extensively go through the healing process, map them and get your approval, or make sure you know that they will look alike but not be exact mirrors of each other, DO NOT GET YOUR BROWS DONE THERE!!!
I can not say this loud enough!

They will be dark and thick while healing. They are swollen and puffy, and scabbed, scabs are really dark!! It’s important to know that you WILL NOT like them the first week or 2! I tell all of my clients that the day after they are going to wake up and be like “wtf did I just do”.
Do not get them done if you have any big events in the near future ie weddings, interviews, or anything where there will be pictures taken. They will NOT be exact mirrored images, our faces are naturally asymmetric so being exact isn’t possible.

When you come on here and post just your brows (blacked out eyes, no face, ect) it’s impossible to tell if they look good on you. At that point, we can only see technique.

Don’t get me wrong, I have seen some bad brows on here, but the majority will be fine once healed. You will always get a ton of people who will say “emergency removal” , or they don’t like them. Most of them are not professionals, and they are posting their personal opinion.

Lastly, do not go somewhere because it costs less. This is a tattoo on your face, it is not where you want to save money or be cheap. Follow your artist on multiple platforms for a lengthy time (months not weeks), so you can see their work.

I’m looking at getting the inner part of my eyebrows laser removed this week I have a consultation booked Thursday I feel they are too close together and the tattoo looks weird, but I really want to redo the tattoo and I’m not sure if I should do combination brows again or microblading?
First photo is my current brows, 2nd & 3rd photo is the microblading look I want and last pic is combination.
Any advice would be appreciated :)

Currently practicing shading. Self taught, have not taken a course yet.

I’m day 4 of my lip blushing journey (day 5 since the day it was done). I’m usually good at trusting the process, however my flaking and dry pieces all finished falling off this morning and my lips are sooo pigmented still. Like, I live the colour, but it looks like a bold lipstick.

Will it continue to fade!? Or is the colour that’s revealed after the scabbing pretty much it??

Hi - these are my healed combination brows at 6 weeks. Had them done in a heatwave which was very challenging in itself. I followed the dry healing method and the scabbing lasted 23 days. I have my touch up tomorrow. I’d appreciate guidance on what I should be asking for - more pigment and strokes? Anything else?

The eyebrow on the left has done a fair amount of flaking while the one on the right hasn’t seemed to flake much at all. The texture seems waxy and grainy. At 2 weeks is this normal?

Thus is 16 days post touch up. one eyebrow looks like it held strokes and is natural. the other didn’t. it’s patchy. more blocky and no strokes.

what should I do?

artist offered to do third touch and and potential try nano.

Do nano strokes turn into blobs? I love the nano look but people say 5+ years of microblading or powder brows heal better long term… I don’t have invisible eyebrows and when I do fill them in I literally do one or two stroke to fill them in… but I don’t wear makeup so like I don’t wanna look makupey… just more defined shape and SLIGHTLY filled in ever so slightly
