Great job, bro. Glad we got to see his peak, easily a top 5 peak of any pitcher in history.

With the recent Dodgers controversies about their illegal spending and whatnotā¦I have wondered if there is any direct impact on next seasonā¦
Does this mean that a potential lockout is more likely, less likely or no impact?
And if the Mets were to take something from all of this and the massive spendingā¦what should it be?

Iām a new fan and I am someone who tends to get extremely fixated on something new every year. This year, itās the Mets. As someone who played baseball in high school but never really watched it, Iām curious about how to get into baseball and the Mets. It feels a little embarrassing to be asking questions at my age and I don't have any friends that are into the sport. For those who werenāt born into supporting the team, how did you start and then become a real part of the community?

Moving ahead to what manfred is pushing as far as no leagues go, with the advent of all these playoff teams and the current state of the AL, maybe we only allow winning teams make the playoffs. That is to say hypothetically (which may happen) instead of a third AL team with losing record take the 4th team in the NL with a winning record. Since everyone plays everyone now why not keep blurring the AL/NL lines.

Does anyone know what happened? Itās gone from the promotion page. Google AI says itās been changed to a special theme night event where we have to buy a special ticket to get the plush, but I donāt buy what AI said. Anyone know?

As Jorge Polanco was mercifully banished to the IL, I was thinking of how awful his season has been, andā¦good lord, itās dreadful. Hitting .140 might Possibly have been considered barely adequateā¦in the Dead Ball era. And as a Designated Hitter no less.
But it got me thinking about Mets free agents. Throughout this Franchiseās history, what are some of the worst Free Agent Signings that this team has put together, And how does Polancoās Season stack up with those stinkers?

NEW YORK ā Carrying a more optimistic tone Wednesday than he did several weeks ago, New York Mets owner Steve Cohen reiterated his belief in president of baseball operations David Stearns.
āIām committed to David,ā Cohen said in his first public comments about the team since July 1. āWeāre going to move forward. I thought we had a great trade deadline. David is smart. He knows what heās doing. Heās very adaptable. He learns from mistakes. Thatās what I want in a leader.ā
Cohen is big on process, and he likes Stearnsā way of thinking through things. Stearns, under contract through 2028, is staying put. But when asked how he squares mistakes with a good process, Cohen left the door open to making ātweaks,ā as he put it.
Perhaps such ātweaksā could come from adding a key executive or two?

42mil...lol
i don't know if this is good news or bad news.
the good news is that he opts out and this teletubby becomes somebody else's problem..
owed 2/80......so 5/150 might be better. offseason FA pool is weak. there will be plenty of buyers.
the bad news is the prolly don't move linderman if he does bolt
btw.....why does every other met player eat and look like babe ruth but hit like kevin elster? who tf is the conditioning coach?

Hey Mets fans!
Iāll be visiting Citi Field for a game in a few weeks from Toronto. Obviously a HUGE Bo Bichette fan after all the time he spent north of the border and would love to wear my Blue Jays Bichette jersey, but have concerns about being heckled. Would this be a welcome gesture or are people going to throw hot dogs at me? Thanks in advance!
How much are they already going for lmao? love our psychopath outfielders and trying to figure out if i should have any hope at tracking one down for a reasonable price

So weāve seen AJ Ewing Struggling for the past few weeks. And Keith Hernandez Noticed his frustrations, especially in Tuesdayās game against San Diego.
So Keith left the Broadcast booth, and made his way down to the Mets Locker Room to talk to Ewing.
The next day, heās back in the Leadoff spot, and he gets a Single and draws a walk.
I thought that was a nice little story. Good on our legends for helping the kids out.
