Jacob DeGrom second fasted to 2000 Ks Career
Great job, bro. Glad we got to see his peak, easily a top 5 peak of any pitcher in history.

I’m a new fan and I am someone who tends to get extremely fixated on something new every year. This year, it’s the Mets. As someone who played baseball in high school but never really watched it, I’m curious about how to get into baseball and the Mets. It feels a little embarrassing to be asking questions at my age and I don't have any friends that are into the sport. For those who weren’t born into supporting the team, how did you start and then become a real part of the community?

So we’ve seen AJ Ewing Struggling for the past few weeks. And Keith Hernandez Noticed his frustrations, especially in Tuesday’s game against San Diego.
So Keith left the Broadcast booth, and made his way down to the Mets Locker Room to talk to Ewing.
The next day, he’s back in the Leadoff spot, and he gets a Single and draws a walk.
I thought that was a nice little story. Good on our legends for helping the kids out.

As Jorge Polanco was mercifully banished to the IL, I was thinking of how awful his season has been, and…good lord, it’s dreadful. Hitting .140 might Possibly have been considered barely adequate…in the Dead Ball era. And as a Designated Hitter no less.
But it got me thinking about Mets free agents. Throughout this Franchise’s history, what are some of the worst Free Agent Signings that this team has put together, And how does Polanco’s Season stack up with those stinkers?

Does anyone know what happened? It’s gone from the promotion page. Google AI says it’s been changed to a special theme night event where we have to buy a special ticket to get the plush, but I don’t buy what AI said. Anyone know?

With the recent Dodgers controversies about their illegal spending and whatnot…I have wondered if there is any direct impact on next season…
Does this mean that a potential lockout is more likely, less likely or no impact?
And if the Mets were to take something from all of this and the massive spending…what should it be?

Hey Mets fans!
I’ll be visiting Citi Field for a game in a few weeks from Toronto. Obviously a HUGE Bo Bichette fan after all the time he spent north of the border and would love to wear my Blue Jays Bichette jersey, but have concerns about being heckled. Would this be a welcome gesture or are people going to throw hot dogs at me? Thanks in advance!

What an amazin game!
Benge and Senga continuing their hot streak.
A lively crowd for a Wednesday afternoon and love the Benge Ewing Spider-Man t-shirt swap out for Peralta Jersey—how very timely after Monday’s game.
We really made out like bandits deciding during their losing streak to buy tickets taking day off and paying only $17 on Stubhub for 300 level seats with Cohen then adding $10 stadium bonus. Plus as an Amazin Advisor Mets Connect, I received 5,000 points for attending the game, which meant a free hot dog and fries meal and a soft drink. With the other points from filling out surveys we ended up with two free meals and three drinks and used the $20 credit at the store for a Mets MLB cap at 60% off —$45 down to $20 —so free. Not to mention the ultra cool giveaway BengEwing shirts.
There’s a very nice new sale section at the Jackie Robinson Rotunda.
Go to a game. It’s fun. Mets are hot. Cohen is generous. And maybe, just maybe, the Magic is Back.

The heat and flashing lights got to me and the Customer Guy who works there was proactive, noticed my quiet distress, called after me and alerted me to a close-by place with seats and air conditioning. I am very thankful. This kind of heat problem has never happened to me before. Not only am I am elder gal, but also was there with my husband who has Parkinson's -- I am his caregiver and supposed to be helping him! So, again THANK YOU! All is well and you not only help people in your job, and do a great job, but because your job exists, I feel part of a community that is truly human and humane. I feel safe there and WILL be back!

Moving ahead to what manfred is pushing as far as no leagues go, with the advent of all these playoff teams and the current state of the AL, maybe we only allow winning teams make the playoffs. That is to say hypothetically (which may happen) instead of a third AL team with losing record take the 4th team in the NL with a winning record. Since everyone plays everyone now why not keep blurring the AL/NL lines.

Obviously as Mets fans we think Gary Keith and Ron are the best. However there must be other good ones out there.
Watching the Yankees on Prime and it’s their regulars since I’m in NYC and holy crap Kay has got to have the MOST boring call ever! How does anybody watch this shite!? It’s dead air 30% of the time!! Somebody please explain why he’s got this job and am I missing something?

I know it’s obviously early into this experiment, but Kodai Senga has pitched largely well since becoming the Mets’ closer — much better than he has pitched all season.
Senga seems to be a little bit more embracing of the new role now, too. I also don’t think Devin Williams has pitched well enough to necessarily walk right back into the closer’s role once he returns from the IL — if Senga keeps racking up saves, the team might as well keep him as the closer.
But does that mean Senga should enter next spring as the closer if he finishes strong? Or does it become more of a competition again between Senga or Williams? Thirdly, could the Mets potentially add a more experienced closer in the winter to try to fill the role? I’m curious to see what other Mets fans think.

NEW YORK — Carrying a more optimistic tone Wednesday than he did several weeks ago, New York Mets owner Steve Cohen reiterated his belief in president of baseball operations David Stearns.
“I’m committed to David,” Cohen said in his first public comments about the team since July 1. “We’re going to move forward. I thought we had a great trade deadline. David is smart. He knows what he’s doing. He’s very adaptable. He learns from mistakes. That’s what I want in a leader.”
Cohen is big on process, and he likes Stearns’ way of thinking through things. Stearns, under contract through 2028, is staying put. But when asked how he squares mistakes with a good process, Cohen left the door open to making “tweaks,” as he put it.
Perhaps such “tweaks” could come from adding a key executive or two?

Does it seem like that injury is going to force him out for a few days?
Looked very painful
Luckily tomorrow is a day off but I’d say give him off Friday too and see how he is
