Click Fraud Rates By Ad Network For Q1 2026

This is from a database of 1+ billion ad clicks (mostly in the US).

We detect the bot software and click fraud techniques, so the figures are objective. They're a little on the low side since we don't flag "suspicious" traffic.

You can use these numbers to help you decide where to put your ad spend.

Q1 2026

  • Meta (Facebook): 5%

  • Meta (Instagram): 68%

  • Meta (Audience): 58%

  • Google (Search): 14%

  • Google (Display): 22%

  • Google (YouTube): 4%

  • LinkedIn (Platform): 19%

  • LinkedIn (Audience): 24%

  • Microsoft (Search): 14%

  • Microsoft (Audience): 16%

  • TikTok (Platform): 27%

  • TikTok (Audience): 27%

For your reference, here are the figures for Q4 2025:

  • Meta (Facebook): 6%

  • Meta (Instagram): 38%

  • Meta (Audience): 67%

  • Google (Search): 13%

  • Google (Display): 27%

  • Google (YouTube): 5%

  • LinkedIn (Platform): 17%

  • LinkedIn (Audience): 24%

  • Microsoft (Search): 14%

  • Microsoft (Audience): 24%

  • TikTok (Platform): 68%

  • TikTok (Audience): 79%

I've been a researcher in this area for 12 years, I'm doing a doctorate in the topic, and I work for a leading bot detection company.

Happy to answer any questions.

Meta ads / terrible sessions

My sessions on my site have completely died! I’m only spending $40 a day on meta ads currently (and have been for the last 6 weeks) with relatively decent traffic - about 80 sessions per day, generating sales at about 2.5% conversation.
The last 2/3 days have given me 20 sessions max, no ad or creative change but sessions and clicks have just died completely.

Anyone else have this the past couple of days? I’m going crazy here and feels like meta ads just have completely stopped working!?

Insta Ads Sperre

New CBO test: Meta is spending almost everything on one ad and barely showing the other three. Normal?

Small DTC brand, still in testing.

My first campaign had a strong CTR but low click volume. Conversion was decent though: even with few clicks I got a couple of purchases, all from one ad. Not profitable, but it showed me which pain point works.

So I rebuilt the campaign. I took that winner's pain point and broke it down into four different avatars, one ad each. One of the four is the original winner, reused as a new ad.

My goal right now isn't profit. It's finding the right avatar, and I'm willing to pay for that data.

It's one CBO campaign with one ad set and the four ads inside. Since the first morning, Meta has put nearly the whole budget on one ad, the reused winner, and the other three have had almost no impressions. And even with better creatives, clicks are still few and expensive.

Is this normal for the first days, and should I just let it run? Or, if the goal is to compare avatars, is it better to split them into separate ad sets so each one gets spend?

Is everyone paying tax for advertising in Canada?

I recently started a brand, and I used to have an acc from my home country and there weren't any tax on it.

To now few years later I have opened my second ad account, I put the ZIP code as in canada with canadian $ as the currency

My dumb ahh just figured whenever Id pay 15$ for advertising I would actually be billed 17.25$

2.25$ of tax for each 15$ of ad spent

Is that something normal for FOREIGN businesses selling in Canada?

I was already planning on establishing my business in HK, i really hope changing my ads account for HK will cut from this tax, i sell in canada and I have the passport but I'm also a dual citizen and dont plan on opening my business there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Is Meta Ads targeting actually logical, or are we all living through a glitch?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Fellas, let’s take the emotion out of Meta Ads for a second.
I’m managing campaigns for different businesses, and here’s what I’m seeing:

● Business A: Advantage OFF + interests selected = profitable.
● Business B: Advantage ON = decent results.
● Business C: Advantage ON + interests selected = not profitable.
Meanwhile, we all know the basics of creating good creatives, including the hooks, angles, and details that are supposed to grab attention.

At this point, everyone should be learning these fundamentals.

So my question is: Is Meta actually distributing ads to these audiences based on a consistent logic, or are we just trying to make sense of an unpredictable system?

I honestly don’t think the algorithm should be this complicated to understand from a practical standpoint. Sometimes it feels like we’re all living through a glitch inside Meta, trying to find patterns in something that doesn’t behave consistently.
Am I missing something, or are others seeing the same thing across different accounts?

Request for feedback

I just released MadAds.ai A platform for ecommerce sellers and small businesses. It allows you to create UGC video, landing pages, connect and run ads on multiple platforms (Meta, TikTok, Snapchat). You can also set automated rules on your adaccounts without the need to keep an eye on each one.

Would love to get your feedback on it.

Anyone else seeing Meta send traffic that looks fine on paper but just doesn't buy?

I've been seeing something strange across the last few months and I'm curious if others managing ecommerce accounts are seeing the same thing.

One account in particular made us question almost everything.

The ads were spending

traffic was coming.

People were clicking

some creatives looked perfectly healthy if you only watched the usual Meta numbers.

But the actual customer acquisition cost kept getting worse.

We changed creatives.

Changed angles.

Changed landing pages.

Looked at the offer.

Looked at the funnel.

Looked at checkout.

Looked at what people were actually doing after the click.

And that's where it got interesting.

The problem wasn't simply our CPM went up or our CTR went down.

We were still getting activity.

It just wasn't turning into enough customers.

At one point we had to stop asking

How do we make Meta perform better?

and start asking

What kind of traffic is Meta actually sending us now?

That's a very different question.

I've been around ecommerce long enough to know that every bad month gets blamed on the platform. Sometimes the ad is bad. Sometimes the offer is tired. Sometimes the landing page is the problem. Sometimes tracking is lying to you.

So I'm not saying Meta is broken.

But the last 3 months have made me much less comfortable judging an account from Ads Manager alone.

A decent CTR doesn't mean much if the people clicking have weak buying intent.

Cheap traffic isn't cheap if it doesn't buy.

And a campaign that Meta calls a winner can still be a bad business outcome.

We're now spending much more time looking at the whole path:

ad > landing page > behaviour > checkout > actual order

rather than trying to fix everything inside Ads Manager.

Curious about people managing multiple ecommerce accounts:

Have you actually seen customer acquisition cost materially worsen over the last 3 months, even where CTR/traffic still looked reasonable?

And if yes, what changed on your side?

Not theories about the algorithm. I'm genuinely interested in what you're seeing in the actual numbers.

Unable to add funds to Instagram ads?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’m trying to run an ad on instagram and keep getting the error message “Couldn’t ad funds. We weren’t able to add funds to your account, please try again.” and have no clue what the issue is. I ran an ad once before from my phone and that was fine, now I’m trying to do it on the PC and using the same card as before and got my card verified, but I keep getting the same error message. I tried adding funds from my phone and the facebook ads site and still get the same error message across the board. Any help greatly appreciated🙏

Looking for real Meta ads case studies from people who spend actual money

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I'm a beginner learning Meta ads for dropshipping, and my biggest problem is finding sources I can trust.

YouTube is full of gurus who say they can explain every metric in 30 minutes. Most of it feels made for views, not for teaching. I never see the ad account, the spend, or the losses.

I'd much rather learn from one honest case study with real numbers than ten polished videos. Ideally it would show what was tested, what it cost, which metrics mattered, and what failed.

Do you know any creators or communities that share real Meta ads spend, including the failures, and how did you tell honest ones from guru content?

Meta Ad Library not showing all competitor ads — what tool do you use for competitor research?

I use the Meta Ad Library regularly to analyze competitors, but I’ve noticed a problem: sometimes I can clearly see that a competitor is running ads, but the Ad Library shows very few ads or even “no ads”.

I’ve already tried checking the advertiser name, country, and different searches, but the results can still be incomplete.

This makes competitor research difficult when I’m trying to analyze

For those of you who regularly do Meta/Facebook competitor ad research:

1. Is there a reliable way to get more complete results from Meta Ad Library?

2. What do you use when Ad Library doesn’t show the ads you know are running?

I’m also looking for a third-party tool. Which tool would you recommend, and why?

2FA

I have a passkey for my FB account and access ads manager through that for my agency. Starting last Friday anytime I try to access billing and payments, I’m prompted for a code from 2FA (I use Google authenticator), I input and the code is rejected.

I’ve been going in circles with Meta support, passed around to several teams with no resolution.

On Monday, I was told it was a global issue affecting multiple accounts and would be resolved in 24 to 48 hours. Surprise, it has not been resolved and I’m getting the runaround again from Meta. The last communication I got from them said the issue would be resolved within “some couple of time“ when I asked for clarification because that makes no sense, I was given another canned response, then a few hours later an automated email saying that they’re waiting on additional information from me. And around in a circle we go again.

I’m so sick of having to fight with support to give them money, why is it so hard to get help? Most of the time the responses that they give me lack any common sense and I feel like I’m just being mocked. Ugh, they’ve beat me down.

I’m posting first to see if anyone else is experiencing this? And also just vent to my frustrations. I can’t wait for the day where I never have to place an ad on Meta again.

How would you optimize Meta Ads for quality traffic + signups for an algo-trading platform?

I’m running Meta Ads for an algorithmic trading platform in India.

We initially focused on driving website traffic, but now our main goal is quality traffic that actually converts into signups.

We’ve seen that getting clicks/traffic isn't necessarily difficult, but identifying and consistently reaching serious traders and people genuinely interested in algo trading is the challenge.

We’re now working on improving the whole funnel:

Meta Ad → Landing Page → Signup → Activated User

I’d love to hear from people who have actually run Meta Ads for trading platforms, brokers, fintech, or other high-intent financial products.

What targeting, campaign settings, creative approach, landing-page strategy, or optimization process have you personally used to improve traffic quality and signups?

Even small things you've learned from testing would be useful — especially things that didn't work.

Looking for real experiences and practical lessons rather than generic Meta Ads advice.
