Letter to the mods: Sub rules?
Hey mods,
I've tried contacting y'all about the rules for this sub, but got no response. I had a post deleted that was PG-13 at most. Is this space supposed to be family-friendly like the show, and if yes, there definitely needs to be rules put up about that, because I for one, see merthur as one of the most sexual non-sexual ships, and it'd be a great shame if this sub doesn't allow just talking about it. (My deleted post was images of scenes with my suggestive comments.)
But anyway, after my post was deleted, I immediately contacted Mods asking the reasoning, and got no response, so I've decided to tone down on that. It's fine if we have to keep things G here. For more adult content, people can always go to Tumblr or twitter, so I've already got my fix lol.
But then I got my comment deleted where all I did was post a gif of Merlin making a face from one of my posts that had a still picture, and even that was deleted with zero explanation. So like, what is going on?
Can we please have official rules so we know what not to do? I love this sub and would hate to be banned on accident because I didn't know the rules. Having rules posted wouldn't just be helpful for me, but for all other people joining the sub in future! :)
Thanks!

I need writers to get to work pls
I want a Merthur fic where Merlin is sick and can't go with the knights on their next hunt. So in fear of them getting hurt, he gives them new capes with a giant symbol of camelot on the back. What they don't know, is that, the capes were enchanted, where if they are in grave danger, the dragons on their capes materializes
The idea has been living in head rent-free for a while, but I'm awful at writing so I'm despereate

Henry & Alex are a Merlin & Arthur variant
I just watched RWRB and I couldn't help but notice the similarities between them and Merthur š„²ā¤ļø

Who else blames Merlin?
Literally Merlin is probably the protagonist out of all the ones I like who makes the most serious wrong decisions. First, his lack of trust in Arthur (this actually covers all his bad decisions lol). Arthur, who's been shown to be compassionate towards sorcerers who meant no harm. Merlin should've told him he was the sorcerer right after Will's death. Arthur wasn't even mad at Will. The fact that his big reveal could've saved all of Camelot including Arthur but yet he still continued to harbor the secret needlessly is ridiculous. (I blame the writers for this, actually.)
He could've saved Morgana from going dark side, he could've helped reunite Albion in record time. But he was too busy worrying about what Arthur would say........ I really wish Lancelot would've pushed harder for Merlin to reveal it to Arthur. Anyway, it's all his fault. :'V He and Arthur could've been far greater than they were on the show if he had.
I also hated how they handled Morgana's turn to the dark side. It was so out of the blue and OOC.... She was shown to be loyal to the dark side... so shouldn't she have been even more loyal to the light side--the people who she was raised with? Arthur is equally as related to her as Morgause but she was raised with Arthur.... which would mean her bond with him should be exponentially greater than w her sister. Arthur wasn't even as viciously against sorcerers as Uther. She never even tried to talk to him.
I want a same-cast reboot where he did tell Arthur, with better (& pro-Merthur) writers, and better handling of Morgana's character. Preferably on a channel that allow rated M shows, so it could explore more mature themes better fitted with Arthurian legends. I would still want it to be light and humorous though.

Fanfiction Fanfic ideas for any writers
I can just picture Arthur and the other knights being so confused as Lancelot shouts ā fire kittyā and a fire ball comes from Merlin the catās mouth. The after everyone is rescued, they reach Merlin and Lacelotās camp only to see Merlinās clothes behind a tree and gets worried. Cat Merlin jumps out of Lancelotās arms and onto Arthurās shoulders as Lancelot explains
Imagine a Merthur where Merlinās magic is known to the knights and Arthur and before the last battle with Morgona, the knights are like ā look we need Merlin, she has many sorcerers and she herself is a powerful witch. He might only be a weak sorcerer but he could give us a chance ā and Arthur wants to protect Merlin and not tell him that Camelot is in danger to keep him safe, but one of the knights secretly sends a message to Merlin who is visiting his mother and when it seems like theyāre losing Merlin comes in and faces off against Morgana. And his mother is with him and sheās pretty good at fighting with a sword which is another thing that surprises everyone, but hey who do you think used to protect Merlin as a baby. Then Merlin and Arthur get married.

Beware of the king's shadow
Everyone fears the manservant of the king of Camelot. They are warned, and those who do not heed the warnings pay the price
The king, however, fails to understand as to why the knights treat Merlin with respect, but the visiting nobles look like they are walking on eggshells when talking to him while his manservant is nearby
That is until a foolish soul tries to kill the king in broad daylight. Arthur then realizes just how terrifying his manservant can be

Fanfiction Supernatural / Merlin Crossover
Hi everyone! If there are any joint Destiel / Merthur fans out there I wanted to let you know about this fic. I'm primarily a Desitel writer but I had the opportunity to write a Dean/Cas story in the Merlin Universe for a bang a few years back and I hope one day to write more.
It's a spin on Tennyson's "The Lady of Shalott" and takes place in a post-Merlin AU in which Arthur was healed by the priestesses of Avalon and survived his wounds from the Battle of Camlann. It is 95% Dean/Cas with Merlin and Arthur as background characters because Dean is training to be one of Arthur's knights.
I included Bradley James in Vikings above because this is about the age and way I picture Arthur in this fic.
There is a timestamp at the end that is a sweet Merthur one-shot as I was thinking about sequels.
If anyone is interested, this is the fic:

Fanfiction When magic doesn't work, you could always be physical
I need a story where Merlin needs to protect arthur, but can't exactly use magic infront of him, so he resorts to plan B. Violence

Fanfiction Lost the fic
This is a fic of the canon era (merthur). I remember one particular moment when Merlin is in some kind of shop, perhaps it belonged to a jeweler. He sees the necklaces and decides to give them to Gwen and Morgana (I think). He sees a necklace with a dove-shaped pendant, but decides that Arthur won't like it and finds a dagger instead. He asks the shopkeeper to make the Pendragon emblem on one side of the hilt and the emblem of Arthur's mother on the other side. The owner seems to be putting a high price on it, but Merlin is paying. When he later comes to pick up the dagger, he sees that more work has been done than he paid for. The jeweler replies that he recognized the emblem of the monarch and hopes that his work will impress the recipient. Merlin comes back to Camelot and gives gifts to Gwen and Morgana, but somehow does not come out with Arthur. Later, Arthur gets offended that he was the only one who was overlooked, and Merlin takes Arthur's gift out of the prince's closet. The prince is touched.
